Banana Nutrition Information

Nutritional Values of Bananas & Plantains

Bananas and plantains look very similar but have many distinct characteristics. Bananas are naturally sweet and typically eaten raw. Plantains are typically referred to as a cooking banana and are used more like a vegetable than a fruit. Plantains are typically only consumed raw when they turn completely black. While the two fruits have a similar nutritional composition, bananas tend to be lower in calories and have fewer vitamins and minerals than plantains.
