Bike Shifters

How to Take Off Twist Bike Shifters

Bicycles have many different types of gear shifters available, including bar end, brake lever and push-button mechanisms. However, one of the most common types of shifters, particularly for mountain bikes, is the twist-grip shifter. This type of shifter allows you to change gears by rotating the grip forward or backward so you do not have to lift your hand from the control as you ride. When your shift cables become worn or damaged, you will need to remove the twist-grip for the cable-replacement process.
