13.1 Miles

I’ve been training with DVDs for the past six months. While it is fabulous to wake up and literally make coffee, warm up and get my workout done without leaving the house, I miss my outdoor workouts. Last year I trained for a half marathon, and quite literally I was in the best shape of my life. I intermixed my running 3x a week with circuit training compliments of Circuit Works and was stronger, leaner and faster than I had ever been before.

It has been nice to take a break from this type of hard core training which I had been participating since January of 2009. Instead of committing to going to the gym or signing up for a boot camp, my friends and I signed up for the Rock n Roll half marathon in Los Angeles. Countdown…10 weeks. Nothing like jumping right in.

Let me know if you are in the Los Angeles area and want to join us for our Saturday long runs, or if you are planning on running this half marathon. It’s always more fun with more people you know and added accountability.
