5 Smoothies That Will Boost Your Post-Workout Glow

We all love and strive for that post-workout "glow" -- a moment where we radiate pure bliss after pushing ourselves to sweat hard and make it over that hill. Here are five powerful smoothies that will increase your energy, propel you through your workout and nourish your skin with antioxidants and nutrients for an out-of-this-world glow.

Peppermint Green Smoothie
This invigorating smoothie features mineral-rich cashews, which assist in hydrating and healing skin, and potassium-packed bananas to enhance the health and strength of bones and muscles.

8 ounces of canned coconut milk, refrigerated for 30 minutes prior
a handful of fresh mint leaves
1 drop of peppermint extract
1 tablespoon of Green Dream Coconut Butter or your favorite coconut butter
1 tablespoon of Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend
1 tablespoon of cashew butter
1 tablespoon of cacao nibs, plus extra for garnish
1/2 cup of spinach or kale
2 frozen bananas

Alkaline Avocado Smoothie
This alkalizing, energy-boosting smoothie is full of nutrient-rich leafy greens and avocado, which help fight free radicals and prevent fine lines and wrinkles.

1 handful of kale or collard greens
2 handfuls of spinach
2 stalks of celery
1/2 of a cucumber
1/2 of an avocado
1 cup of water
a few squeezes of fresh lemon juice
a couple of parsley sprigs
a pinch of cayenne pepper

Pineapple Watermelon Smoothie
The watermelon in this drink will help your skin stay moisturized and hydrated throughout your workout, while the pineapple will aid in the production of collagen, helping your skin retain its elasticity.

2 cups of watermelon
4 ounces of watermelon juice
2 Swiss chard leaves
2 celery stalks
1 Persian cucumber
1 banana
1 tablespoon of bee pollen
1/2 cup of frozen pineapple

Berry Beet Smoothie
Beets are rich in antioxidants and great for detoxing the skin and combating inflammation. The hydrating coconut water will also replenish the electrolytes that your body loses during your workout.

8 ounces of coconut water
1 beet, chopped
1/2 cup of strawberries
3 kale leaves, de-stemmed
1/3 cup of frozen mango
1 frozen banana
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
1 handful of ice

Watermelon Avocado Smoothie
This hydrating smoothie is packed with omega-9 fats from avocados, which can help repair damaged skin cells and reduce irritation.

2 cups of watermelon
4 ounces of watermelon juice
1 handful of spinach
1 cup of Greek yogurt
1/2 of an avocado
1 banana
1 tablespoon of Berrybliss Coconut Butter or your favorite coconut butter
1 tablespoon of Berry Bliss Superfood Blend
1/3 cup frozen of cherries

For all of the smoothies, blend the ingredients well and sprinkle on nourishing toppings, such as goji berries, mulberries and cacao nibs. Try to sip them at least an hour before your workout to maximize your energy and ensure that all the nutrients are fully absorbed!
