A new study shows that eating oily fish like salmon, trout and herring once or twice a week could add 2.2 years to your life. The study also reports that those who ate oily fish over a long period of time had a 35 percent lower risk of cardiovascular disease.

We all know that music is a great motivator that can kick your workout routine into high gear, but now we have the research to prove it!  A new study found that the number of beats per minute actually affect your overall sense of exertion during a workout. An ideal workout song should have 125-140 beats per minute. The right tempo boosts stamina and can conserve energy. Here's a playlist with some of our high tempo favorites.

Kate Beckinsale recently appeared with a perfectly toned, long and lean body on the beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. How does the 39-year old stay in top shape? Her trainer Mandy Ingber said that the star practices yoga daily and focuses on her core. Beckinsale keeps a schedule to stay committed to her workout routine and she eats clean. She loves veggies and chicken and avoids grains and sugar.

 

Obama Proposes a $100 million Brain Mapping Project

President Barack Obama proposed a massive $100 million plan to map the brain's activity and that could improve the lives of billions around the world. He suggests that the research found could help Alzheimer's, autism, stroke and traumatic brain injuries. The project is called BRAIN and stands for Brain Research through Advancing Innovation Neurotechnologies.

 

Remembering Jack Pardee

Former Texas A&M star and N.F.L. coach, Jack Pardee died on Monday in Denver. Pardee suffered from gallbladder cancer and died with his family by his side.

He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame for his outstanding sportsmanship at Texas A&M. Pardee played 15 seasons for the N.F.L. and later coached the Chicago Bears and the Washington Redskins.
