Sexy Cleanse for Valentine’s Day

If Valentine’s Day is not the most cliche holiday, it must be first runner up. Even though it is commercial and silly, you may as well have fun with it. I mean, what's not to love about love? I want you to be your sexiest version of yourself this holiday. Even if you are only getting sexy for yourself, or to make dinner for the kids, we should all get in on the "action." Don't argue with me. You know you feel sexier, friskier, and quicker to leave the lights on when you are rockin' a fit bod that you have been working hard for. Give me 4 days and 8 foods to get you negligee (or David Beckham brief) ready. I'm laying out a delicious whole food cleanse from my newest book “The New You and Improved Diet.” Follow this quick jump start and you'll feel thinner, less bloated, full of energy and glowing with better health.

More than that though, I'm going to try to convince you why intimacy, sensuality and being your sexy self is worthy of investing your time and energy, by sharing some highlights from chapter 5: Feel Sexy to Slim Down.

4 Day, 8 Food cleanse: Wonderful sex research tells us that with as little as a ten-pound weight loss, libido is boosted! This cleanse is comprised of healthy fat, protein, fiber and water volume and it is LOADED with antioxidants. It eliminates sodium, sugar, alcohol and residues from processed foods.  Add eight glasses of water and two cups of green tea to maximize the benefits of your hard work.

Breakfast:
1 whole egg plus 2 egg whites (scrambled)
½ teaspoon dried oregano

Snack:
1 medium Granny Smith apple
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Lunch:
Lentil Spinach Salad (spinach, ½ cup cooked lentils, 1 hard-boiled egg, and 2 teaspoons olive oil)

Snack:
½ cup artichoke hearts
or 1 small steamed artichoke with a squeeze of lemon

Dinner:
Salmon Spinach Salad (1 cup spinach, 4 oz. grilled salmon and ¼ avocado)
You can add flavored vinegar to your salads to bring out their deliciousness!

I know! Real food. No starvation. I want you to try your hardest while on the cleanse to sleep for 7 – 8 hours a night, practice some deep breathing or meditation each day and exercise daily doing something you love. Put yourself in my hands for 4 short days. You will both see and feel the results without deprivation and you will love the way you feel, I promise!

Believe it or not, when I tell you to Feel Sexy to Slim Down, it is because sexuality is one of your most powerful health and weight loss allies. Feeling good about your sexuality is a measure of health — you don't have to have sex, per se. I am speaking to feeling sexy, desirable and positive about your body image. Some highlights from  chapter 5 in “The New You and Improved Diet.”

* Sex manages stress: research has proven that sex (cuddling, masturbating, holding hands) has the power to reverse the negative effects of stress. Those negative hormones from stress are replaced by happier moods and increase the likelihood of future sex and physical affection.
* A healthy diet belongs in the bedroom: Studies of overweight women have revealed that 30 percent of overweight or obese women struggle with sexual drive, desire or performance. The good news is that losing as little as 10 pounds has been shown to stimulate sex hormones, perking up sex drive.
* Exercise improves sexual response: working out makes you more aware of your body and more connected to your libido. Not to mention, exercise that works large muscle groups in the thighs and buttocks (walking, running, cycling, etc) boosts the blood flow to your genital area and boosts your sexual desire.


Go ahead. Bring out your inner lover. Spend 4 days focusing on being a sexier you for your valentine and then perpetuate the (self) love, knowing that a sexier you is a healthier and happier version of you.
