Race against the entire world, plus a giveaway from LIVESTRONG.COM!
Wednesday, August 6th, 2008On August 31st, 2008, you can make history by participating in a 10k race like no other: The Nike+ Human Race. The run will be hosted in 25 separate cities, or you can run anywhere at all using Nike+. The run will benefit three different charities, one of which is the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
There are two ways to run the race:
1. Join fellow runners in one of 25 cities hosting the 10k races worldwide.
2. Run anywhere you are using your Nike+, and then just sync your run by the end of the day.
Signing up is easy. Visit nikeplus.com to register in your city of choice. Can’t find a city to race in? No worries — no matter your location, with your Nike+ Sport Kit or Nike+ SportBand, you can register, track your miles and then sync your race at nikeplus.com, the official destination for the Nike+ Human Race.
Nike hopes to get one million runners involved, to celebrate running and benefit some great causes: The Lance Armstrong Foundation, The UN Refugee Agency, and the World Wildlife Fund. Every mile you run on race day will help decide how much is donated to each charity; you can pick which one you’d like to benefit! Learn more at nikeplus.com.
To make things even more interesting, we’re raffling away 8 Nike+ SportBands (LIVESTRONG edition) — that’s the device that tracks how far you’ve run, and the calories you’ve burned with a chip in your shoe.
There are two ways to qualify:
1. Take the Nike+ Human Race 10k Dare
2. Join the Group
If you do both, you get two entries!
Each of the next four Fridays — 8/8, 8/15, 8/22, and 8/29 — we’ll pick two winners, both of whom will receive both the SportBand and a Human Race t-shirt.
So, get ready to run, win, and help make the world a better place!
