Transitional clothes

So my clothes are starting to sag and straight up fall off in some instances. Most of my things are more than one size too big and some of them are most likely closer to 3 sizes too big now. I still have a lot of weight left to lose and hopefully whatever I buy right now won't fit for all that long.

I'm most likely going to go to the thrift shop so I'm not just tossing money out of the window. I will likely end up getting a few of those shapeless sack dresses to wear at home and maybe just a few decent things.

What does everyone else do for transitional clothes? Most of what works for more than one size is kinda hideous but I don't want to spend too much money on clothes that won't be around for long.

    • I tend to buy dresses and elastic skirts... The tend to fit for a little longer... I have lost 45 lbs so far and most of my skirts and dresses still fit... they just fit different. My pants have dropped 4 sizes so I don't get to wear them as long... Hope I helped smile

    • Thrift stores & sales racks are great! Try to always have one work outfit & one casual outfit that fit well. Looking good & feeling confident in your clothes is important along the journey smile

    • If you happen to have a sewing machine, you could look into possibly sizing some of the clothes down.

    • I've been a thrift store shopper for years. Its easier to "splurge" on cute clothes when they're $5 and under. I just buy a few pieces at a time. I second the skirts and dresses.

Thank you everyone. I am going to the thrift store tomorrow.

Nawna1, I think that you are on the right track with skirts and dresses. My pants are the things that don't work at all when they get too big.

Rosalie, I do have a sewing machine. I can't make anything fancy with it but I can make shorts with an elastic waistband for working out and skirts for wearing at home. I've never been any good at making shirts though.

Shortie, you're right. At least one nice outfit is necessary. I hope that I can find something at the thrift store but if not I might splurge on something new.

Hannabanana, I agree. It doesn't even have to last long when it's so reasonably priced.

    • I'm starting to wear my teen son's cast offs ( last years fashion lol ) for shorts, tees and jeans as most of my clothes I am swimming in. Good problem to have wink
