Is biking cardio? If it is, I did a nice, hard 30 minute bike ride :)

jog 30 mins
stair climber 30 mins
does anyone know if I'm just going to get a huge from stair climbing or if it actually counts as cardio?

By bradoco on November 13, 2010 at 02:09 PM

It's not going to make your bigger, just the opposite. It counts as cardio for sure- as long as you are working hard enough to stay at your target heart rate.

its good cardio what gets your heart rate up high enough to make you breath hard is good stuff just dont give up! to make it more of a challenge use the stair step on the tips of your toes and it will add more stress to the backs of your legs hope this helps

Can anyone give me a tip for a 10 minute free trip jumping rope?

By jazzj on June 16, 2011 at 10:06 AM

Not to be a smart aleck, but a boxing gym might be able too. I'll see if the rec center across the street from us has any tips too. Will let you know.

punk rope on you tube, they can get you started from beginner to pro.
The videos are very well done. Get a good rope, I use a leather one and a vynal one depending on my boxing workout.

do one minute without stopping and rest 30 seconds continue until you have done 10 minutes jumping without counting the rest periods two this twice a week and then the next week do 130 with a thirty second rest your going to see that every week you do this twice you add thirty seconds until you can go ten minutes with no break give that a shot

By ozzfan101 on August 15, 2011 at 05:15 PM

must keep going

spent the day fishing, caught some round whitefish, no cardio except while landing the fish, but i do not think that counts.

took my first spinning class. that was intense. think I came in last.lol

By CephasGT on December 10, 2009 at 11:55 PM

Finally made it back to the gym today... After my weight lifting, cranked out 35 minutes on the elliptical. First five minutes were , but then I was good to go. :)

By CephasGT on November 23, 2009 at 06:17 PM

Hammered it out pretty the elliptical today. Very satisfied with my increased pace and resistance.

By aurora222 on November 26, 2009 at 01:28 PM

I love the elliptical. I have been increasing the resistance as weel and I am feeling it.

Suds has taken to not giving us breaks between jumproping, he just fills the would be breaks with other activities: "one-two" sit-ups, side slapping sit-ups, "one-two" toe touches, etc. Better cardio, I'd presumed, but I was utterly pathetic, even with the first set of jump-roping. We did three sets cause nobody knew who the Trio was. There's not much left of October and my goal of mostly holding up for the three three minute jumprope sessions is slipping away. I'll need to start practicing at home.

I did alright with my pushups after class considering how poorly I did in boxing and how sore my arms were. I kindof phoned in the last pushup on the two ten sets and only was able to do 12 of the 15-max set, but I did an extra 3 soon afterward and another 8 set later.

By Kacky on July 28, 2011 at 03:43 PM

Increased my goal to 60 minutes since that's what I am doing anyway.

35 minutes of KenpoX (the whole thing is actually 54 minutes but I had to shave it down because I was running late)

By Kacky on June 26, 2011 at 04:38 PM

1 mile @3mph in the mall, then .5 on the streets @ 3mph, pushing my 200-lb son in his travel chair, which is way harder than those posh ones with the 2 big wheels. He's able-bodied, but one of his autism things is an addiction to riding, so the wheelchair is a compromise. He gets a ride, Mom gets a workout and we save on gas, wear & tear and pollution. Happy 27th birthday John. Hope mummy stays healthy and can push you around for many more.

I don't count our walks together as cardio because he stops too much. He's a smell-the-roses kind of guy. He'll move right along when he's with peers, or when there's a picnic waiting at the top. :)

Treadmill 30 minutes, then it finally stopped raining so I went on the walking track for another 24 minutes.
