I still drank some dr p. but I had a lot of chances to drink more, and I declined, so I guess that's good.
OK, here's the big test. I have to really focus at work for the next two days and get a project done. My "normal" action is to get a Diet Pepsi to keep me on task and focused. Today I'm going to try to just focus. Wish me luck! :-)
How did it go?
I've had one Dr Pepper in 3 weeks because I knew that was better for me than having a drink at a party.
It was so sweet, and I didn't like the way it made me feel...though it was hard not to have one the next day.
My goal to reduce my caffeine intake is to limit myself to one coffee a day. no more chocolate bars, and energy drinks
drank barely and caffine today. my caffine is in soda.
ive been feeling more tired though. think its from the lack of soda and candy.
oh well... this is better for me.
My caffeine was also soda..it's 2 weeks and I feel great, and have "real" energy now.
The first 3 days withdrawal sucked...I couldn't even put a description to the "tired" I felt...and the headache was horrible, as was the agitation.
I didn't drink that much caffeine compared to most people I know, but it sure let me know when I didn't partake in it anymore.
What exactly constitutes a "serving" of caffeine? A 8oz glass of soda has less caffeine in it than an 8oz cup of coffee. How do I keep track?
I didn't drink much coffee, but I considered each serving of Dr Pepper and Pepsi as a serving for caffeine.
Went out to dinner and had Diet Pepsi instead of sparkling water. Darn! I was doing so well this week. Oh well. I will start over again tomorrow. The big test is when I go back to work on Monday morning.
You can do it...make sure you have something in replacement ... I take a big container of decaf green tea with me to work. I'm a bartender that has also quit alcohol, and I spend 8 hrs. pouring alcohol and pop.
It's only been 9 days off caffeine, so it's still really hard when I open a Dr Pepper for a customer, my caffeine drink of choice.
But the choice now is not to drink it.
Typically I drink like 2-3 cans of soda or more a day..But instead of completely cutting it out, im going to drink less slowly each week, until I am completely off it. (:
Feeling sooo good without the caffeine....now I am realizing what a false energy it was and how much more energy I have without the side affects!!
I am addicted to caffeine, especially Diet Pepsi. Caffeine causes me to have migraines. I'm OK when I'm not working (weekends and vacation) but get the craving at the office for getting the caffeine hit. I commit to putting down caffeine, both diet soda and coffee, one day at a time.
My headache is tapering off even more today to almost nothing..it's not easy but it's worth it all ready.
We can help each other through this.
Third day without Dr Pepper or any caffeine...I feel a whole lot worse than when I quit drinking alcohol. It just shows me how powerful of a drug caffeine also is, and I don't want to go back to it.
None. It's been a week and a half and I think I am through the worst part of starting this dare. I am trying to cut it out completely and miss Tea ;-(
