Hi Everyone,
I joined this dare because my body doesn't deal well with the effect of carbs. Even small amounts make me sluggish and tired. Before I was really good about moderating my intake and I felt great. Now, since having some depressing events happen in my life, I feel like I've lost control of my diet and my health. I've started eating junk and sugar that I normally wouldn't eat and I feel terrible. After all that hard work to get my body in tip top shape before, I'm finding it hard to believe that I can get there again because it's been so much harder to get back on track, have as much will power as before, and to see results this time around. Maybe I'm acting on too much compulsive behavior and that's what making me slip more often these days?
I hope that I can get back on track with your support...
Hi. Just joined. Hoping to reduce carbs. I am a marathon runner, so carbs are important in my diet, but I tend to over-do. I call myself the Queen of Carbs, the Princess of Pastry - need to add more protein. Hope we can help each other reach our dare!
those carbs! ARRRGH! going shoppin tomarrow. Talked with a diabetic on her shoppin. Hopefully Ill get something low and good! Sugar free pudding!!! here i come
Too many! It's the weekend... I plan to take this seriously starting Sunday! GOOD LUCK TO ME! And... to us all!
Have been getting around 120-140 per day. Would like to be a little lower - but happy with that for now.

You gain weight if you consistently eat over 150 carbs. 100-150 is maintenance, 50-100 is loss, and below 50 is ketosis inducing. I'm trying to lose, so I keep mine as close to 50 as I can.
That's not necessarily true. It's all about how your body reacts to the carbs and how much of an insulin spike you get. Most people can eat carbs until the cows come home and not have a problem, so people are carb sensitive and need to limit their carbs a bit or try pairing them correctly with proteins to reduce insulin spikes. Suggesting that someone eat 50 grams of carbs a day is a bad idea - that is when ketosis sets in (not below 50 - 50)
Really wasn't working on this today, so I went about 30g over (My goal at the moment is 180). I'll start for real tomorrow
My goal is to just cut out the refined carbs ( is that the term)? I'm going to try to cut out bread, pasta, rice out of my diet. If I am weak, I will have 1/2 my regular amount, and it has to be whole wheat
Question: I am a vegetarian and trying to lose weight by eating mainly fruits and vegetables. Isn't this going to significantly increase my carbs though? I am trying to cut out bread, pasta, rice though
Your carbs will go up, of course, but they will all be from natural, grain free sources. Don't cut back on fat, though, even though you're trying to lose weight. Oive oil, coconut oil/milk, nuts, seeds are all good choices. Eggs and seafood (if you're eating those) are good too.
Today my percent of carbs was only a little over my percentage of fat. it's good that it's even with something but 1. It should be the second lowest and 2. That means I had a lot of carbs and fat today. :'(
There are only 3 macronutirents - fat, protein, and carbs. If you're severely limiting carbs you shouldn't limit fat at all, otherwise you're ONLY eating protein. Atkins and the Primal Blueprint (www.marksdailyapple.com) both advocate NOT limiting fat. It's actually not bad for you IF you're not eating it with carbs.

Hey guys,
Im 16 yrs. old and have been battling with weight my whole life. I have a big bone structure (seeing as though my bones and muscles along weigh 120 lbs.) I stay fairly active, working out at the gym for an hour 4 days a week and inense softball practice for 2 days. My weakness is my diet. I have an EXTREMELY busy life and find myself eating out alot and most of the times I get unhealthy choices such as fried foods, sweets ect. Though I have been active in sports my whole life, I just started working out at a gym 2 months ago, but I still havent seen many results weight wise or inches wise. I want to lose 40 lbs. by the end of March, and possibly sooner, but at this rate, I dont think I could lose it in 6 months. Kinda discouraged. Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated. :) Thanks
