Well done keep going WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Wonderful - go for it!
in 2009 i spent a week in the hospital and i have a huge amount of debt from that.
for this last month of 2010 im just going to save money.
in jan of 2011 im going to slowly start paying my debt.
as long as it gets done right?
Sounds like a good plan- good luck and take it one step at a time. Have you read dave ramsey books- they r good.
YOU CAN DO THIS!good luck!
I went the opposite way and bought a pair of jeans on my credit card...I know I should have saved for them but I really wanted them.
After moving 2 years ago with no money and relying on credit I have dug myself a hole SO deep i feel like I can't stay out of it. Part of my fitness goals is to watch how much i eat which includes not eating out as much which i hope will help me get out of ths debt
Paid off another $250 today but had to buy a gift for my father-in-law ($100). I should have my debt cleared by the end of the month.
Can't even add up the money owed...but we have 4 car payments, 3 credit cards, 1 student loan plus a mortgage. Took FPU in Nov - Jan and keep getting pushed back to Step #1 - as we keep having emergencies. But we are moving ahead and I think 2011 will be the year we move up to Step #3!
Ready to quit messing around and dodging creditors. My family deserves better. FPU coming up in Sept. - can't wait! If Dave Ramsey can make it without credit cards, we can too.
My husband & I just 'graduated' from FPU. You'll love it! We're on Baby Step 2 and aren't looking back. Good luck!
By the time you hit that gazelle intensity you will never look back. I did FPU in the beginning of 2009 and made unbelievable strides. I invited my little brother to class in summer of 2010 and I will never look at credit the same way again. I am working toward baby step 3 and my husband has moved on to baby step 4 without me! In reality I could skip baby step 3 for me since he is already completed with it but I need to learn discipline (chronic spender/budget fudger and selfish) so my baby step 3 is saving for my next mode of transportation. Keep Dave in your life and surround yourself with like thinkers and you will be forever grateful.
What is FPU And how do I get started. thank you Kathie09

Basically, you build up a savings account. You pay minimums on each debt. Then you take ur lowest amount of debt.. ( i.e. you owe $100 to a Dr bill that u pay $10 a month on and $500 to a credit card that you pay $25 a month on, you would focus on the $100 1st) and put any extra $ with each paycheck towards that smallest debt until it is paid off. Once the $100 is paid off you then take the $10 you would be paying the Dr each month and put it towards the $500 credit card bill. So no you are paying $35 a month towards your credit card bill. You just keep up with that pattern until all of your bills are paid off. It's called the snowball effect

Credit card: ~$1200
Working on finding a job to pay it off. A friend owes me about $800 so I should be closer to my goal once he pays me back.
