I made this my New Year's resolution at the beginning of the year. I stopped drinking pop, mainly Dr. Pepper, cold turkey. Worked like a charm for about 2 months and then I got sick. I started up with Sprite -- I was sick for about 4 months and had a wedding to plan and participate in and well, I back slid. Now I'm caffeine free again and well, I want to stay that way. So here I am, 30 days in and soda pop free.

Yikes! I just did the math... I typically consume over 740mg of caffeine every day! That's from about 4 servings of instant esxpresso and four 32oz Diet Pepsi's per day. Drinks are free at my work... I just need to learn restraint!

My goal is to cut that down to 36mg or less per day (one 12oz Diet Pepsi).

So far I'm at only 11mg (it's 1:oopm). I made it through the morning and lunch with only a Lipton Diet Green Tea! I forgot the Green Tea had caffeine. Though not a complete win, I call it a success!

I typically drink 128 oz of Diet Pepsi every day. I just finished a 32 oz'r, but I'm committing right now that if I'm thirsty - I'll drink water instead!

Wish me luck!

I actually started this dare 9 days ago and 9 days later, I still find I'm aching for a cup of coffee!! As I sip my herbal tea, I get my coffee fix by inhaling the coffee fumes from my partner's cup! Pretty sad!
