Essentially, brain exercise consists of stimulating nerve cells, activating new brain circuits and enhancing neurotrophin production. A fit and healthy brain will help reduce your chances of neurological disease, such as Alzheimer's, and will help you retain more of your memories as well as your physical and mental abilities. Mental exercises, attention exercises and brain games are tools that can increase the function of your brain and keep it in top condition.

I just downloaded a crap-load of brain games for my phone so I can exercise my brain every day no matter where I am.

Tonight I played in a community band- had to sight read a lot of music! It's been years since I've played my flute, and my fingers were being forced to remember how to play notes and to move quickly!

Love to do variable number and/or word puzzles or games on the internet or the booklets you can buy. Great "brain' exercise! Also try to memorize and remember peoples' names (not always easy, I admit).
