Hi everyone! 45 and 5'1". Weighing in a 174. I used to be 125 with a size 29 inch waist..over the years I am now a 36 inch waist and I don't like it! Been at LS for a year, have lost officially 15 pounds as of today. My biggest loss ever in a week this morning of 4 pounds! It will take me a while being so short and slower metabolism, but I will get there!

We just booked a pretty spectacular trip to Mexico in early June and I'm going to be spending a bunch of time in a bikini. As such, I want to lose a bunch of dress sizes and get RID OF MY WAIST!!

Is anyone out there a 5'8" woman? Right now, I'm in a 14/16 pant size and I'm thinking if I lose thirty pounds my waist will be small enough to wear a size 10/12. Does that seem accurate to anyone?

There's no one in my life that has my body type or build (especially my height) so I really don't know what my weight goal should be.

By luslus on February 8, 2012 at 12:49 AM

My friend is 5'8 and when she was really skinny she weighed 112 lbs and wore a 6(XS), now she is 121 lbs and she's still a 6-8.. I know it doesn't exactly answer your question, but I hope it helps^^

hey Im 5'8" and wear size 14 pants as well. Im looking to fit into a size 12 by the end of march. I dont know if its a reasonable time scale but im sure that if i cut down on junk food and take my exercise regime seriously i might achieve my goal. perhaps you can try the 21 deys to a trimmer waist dare and see how it goes. Hope this helps.

Does anyone have any little tips and tricks to losing inches off my waist? I am highly active, going to the gym 4 days a week and intense softball practice for 2 other days. I guess you can say my weakness is my diet. My family is always super busy and we usually eat out all the time. I find myself buckling under and getting unhealthy choices like fried foods, sweets, and ect. Does anyone have and recipe ideas so I can not be hungry all the time and end up pigging out at the restaurant? All comments will be gratefully appreciated :)

Restaurants are deadly for weight loss but there are a couple of things you can do to help -- first, always ask for the starch (taters, corn, fries, etc) to be replaced with a second serving of the vegetable; second, try to eat salads and just add a piece of grilled chicken or fish. These two things will definitely fill you up.

And of course, drinking water is SO IMPORTANT. It fills you up, flushes toxins out, tells your body NOT to retain water (bloating), and also turns off cravings for salt and sugar. Often times, a craving for salt or sugar is your body tricking you into eating so it can get some more water.

As for recipes, I just google "low calorie [XYZ]" to find recipes that I like. There's a frittata (quiche without crust) that I like a lot and there are some great soups out there that I love too. I like these things because I can freeze them for easy, easy meals. Progresso has some low-cal soups but they're just not as good. And finally, when I don't eat these things, I just do a big salad with grilled fish or chicken on top. So filling and really healthy.

GOOD LUCK!

I am in the same boat too! I was at 200 pounds and since january 8th lost ten pounds! I too hope to get to 140 but for me I am letting it come off on its own time and all I can do is diet and exercise and change my diets to make sure I keep losing! Good luck to you!

Also Another thing I have found is that when you post a picture then it is more likely for people to stick around. Others start to look for your posts and get a sense of who you are.

Thanks guys all of the support and knowing that am I not alone is awesome. My latest goal to myself is to try out and hopefully make the rowing team at UCF next fall so there will be some serious conditioning and endurance training starting in the near future for me! I am also inspiring to run 5K,10 miler, 1/2 marathon and a full marathon all throughout the upcoming year. Is anyone else looking to run?

I turned 40 and my waist keeps growing and growing! Trying to eat more fruits and vegetables and exercise more reguarly rather than in fits and starts. would love to love 5 inches in my waist.

I'm between a size 12 and 14 - I haven't measured myself but that is what I wear in dress pants US.

I'm a college grad who FINALLY has a steady job and is starting a fitness routine. I've always been very curvy and happy with my body, however, I have two weddings coming up AND a trip to Las Vegas...and despite my love, security, and acceptance of my 5'3'' 169lb, (mostly) hourglass body, I find myself a bit queasy thinking of the obnoxiously gorgeous and fit creatures I will be traveling with! I think its time to set a (modest yet achievable) goal and get my bootylicious bod in gear! Who's with me??

By ArmyPilotsWife on January 31, 2012 at 04:55 PM

My husband is deployed. He is coming home at the end of March and I have gained ten pounds since he left. I just want to be looking good when he comes home to visit. I begged him for a treadmill and he bought me the Livestrong LS 10.0T, SO much nicer then I could have hoped for! I've been neglecting it though, after assuring him I would use it every day. I just want to feel good about myself, and look good for him!! I'm committing myself to this goal!

I've never been very overweight. But I do want a tone and stronger body. My work is physicality demanding and I want to have energy for other things. I'm about to get married in June. I would love to have to body I've always wanted with my new life.
