Dare to Floss daily

2,465 members Daring to Floss daily have tracked a total of 16,908 times

Every time you floss, you're removing bacteria and plaque from in between your teeth and gums, which helps prevent gum disease and gingivitis. It also polishes the surface of your teeth and gives you better breath. If you haven't flossed much in the past, it's time to start.

So in order to actually create and be consistent with a habit, I know I need to make myself WANT to do it--not just "have to".

For this particular dare, I am going to create myself a Teeth Cleaning Fun Kit. I am going to take myself over to Target or local drug store, and pick myself out a fun colored new spinning tooth brush, new sparkly toothpaste, individual flossers, and refreshing after-rinse...maybe even a new cup. :)

Once I have all these NEW fun items, it will remind me to actively use them when I open the medicine cabinet! Let's see how this goes!

Sounds like a great idea! I like kids' fruit flavored toothpastes, if you can find them.

good idea, I will have to try your Fun Kit idea.

For some reason this is hard for me. When I was a kid it didn't mater whether I brushed my teeth or not, and now I've been finding myself missing days. This has to stop!

Naughty. I have a hard time using regular floss, I need to move those floss stick things into a more convenient but "safe" place (i.e. closed container near the sink.)

not just daily, but after every meal. it's takes a minute and according to my dentist it really aids gum health, so why not?

bled like crazy and got stuck, but did it anyway! conquering the fear one day at a time

Flossed last night! It doesn't matter what time in the day you floss, right?

I came across this dare months ago, and I've done it almost every day since! (I used to floss VERY rarely)
