Get in shape with a goal in mind. Challenge yourself to do the Austin LIVESTRONG Challenge on October 24th & 25th and raise money for the fight against cancer along the way. Cancer doesnt discriminate, and neither do we. Take the Challenge on a bike or on your feet. Participate on your own or with a team, uniting with others who want to pick a fight with cancer. We walk, run and ride to honor our families, our friends and ourselves. We celebrate victories and applaud hard work walking your first 5K after completing treatment, organizing 50 co-workers to ride 10 miles for the first time, raising $500 in honor of a newly diagnosed friend, or riding 100 miles in memory of a loved one. Registered a little less than a month ago. Have 3 people signed up on my team with more to come. Raised $370 already shooting for min. of $1000 per team member. Hotel is reserved, now just planning other details and fundraising more.
Flights booked - just got to work on the fitness now. We're really looking forward to the event & visiting Texas . If anyone has any advice on accommodation in Austin i would be very grateful.
Not registered, but definately will, getting a team organized to make the trip. Looking forward to riding with you Lance.
Waiting until I have the $$ for the reg. fee that's not set aside for bills!! I did run in a 5K today(my 1st) and finished in 41 minutes. Also been hiking quite a bit and participating in a bootcamp to increase my fitness level.
I need to get in some more rides before October 26, but I've had a good summer, with these events:
- the 100-mile Granite State Quest on July 12
- the 192-mile Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) on August 2 and 3
- the 100-mile LIVESTRONG Challenge Philadelphia on August 24
- the 100-mile Seacoast Century on September 20
I completed this dare on October 26, but I can't find where I record that!

I am planning on doing both the 5K and the 90mile ride. Looking forward to both.
