Stamnics, at 12 to 16 miles a week I'm sure you'll find it easy enough to ramp it up over the next 6 months for a very good halfarathon time.

Well tomorrow begins my road back to health. I have been out of the game for almost two years from spine surgery on my lower back and neck.... Wish me luck I have a long road ahead of me, but excited to finally get to begin. :)

Good luck! I was incapacitated for a year and 1/2 due to surgery/amp/transplant, so I know the feeling. Just keep telling yourself you will be better than before surgery :)

I couldn't run a mile to save my life I started at 5.5 running a quarter mile walking a quarter mile until I reached my goal it gets easier everyday...good luck!

So I am curious what you guys have tips on as far as staying away from sugars especially when there are lots of bbqs/ parties at this time of year. I want to drop some weight over the summer and I can seem to get away from all of this food!

Bring a healthy contribution. Fruit platter with some yogurt dip, maybe. Also if you have a trader joe's near you they have a organic fat free brownie mix all you do is add non fat yogurt and they taste wonderful!!! I made some full fat cookies, and some of those brownies last weekend at a BBQ and most people had the brownies and didn't even know they were under 130 cal each!!!

5'11"and1/2-270. Trust me even the nurses at dr's offices flip out. They never think its that much. They put the little slide rule on 200. And I'm like. Oh no put it on 250.
