I rode with Team Livestrong in 2008. As a RAGBRAI veteran (6 years experience), I highly recommend riding this week-long event. It's a great time to meet new and interesting people. If you have any questions about this ride -- just reply and I'll try to help in any way I can!

Ok, the ACL reconstruction Apr-17 was a bit of a setback, but I'll be there. This will be my 2nd RAGBRAI.

I cant wait to do this ride! It's legendary in my family since my Uncle John rode it in the 70's!

At 47 years of age and about 47 pounds over weight, I've bought a "Specialized Tarmac" and have logged almost 1K miles since July. I dream of someday making RAGBRAI a dream come true! I was born in Iowa and have always thought it would be a great way to spend a week. Pray for my wife in cancer treatment!! GO LANCE!!

Did it in 2006, one really killer day, ranked in the to ten for hardest days. Hilly, Hot, Humid, Wind, and Long. Made it. The rest of the ride was mostly not enough time in the saddle training. 500 training was OK just didn't have my backside conditioned enough, agonizzzzzzing. But rode every mile.
Loved the riding even though it was tough. Hated the camping, sleeping or trying to sleep in the heat and humidity. But along with the partying, all that stuff is what it's all about.
I didn't take my time during the days ride to stop much and smell the roses. Many small pass-thru towns have much to offer. Other than stopping for a quick water and something quick for lunch, I didn't stop.
I was 48 when I did it and about 230lbs, got down to 20 by the end. But back up to 231 when I started on this site 1/4/09. Currently at 202.
I would love to do it again sometime, just not going to make it this year.
If I did it again I would have to think long and hard about sleeping in a tent again for a week, but would rather opt for my buddy following me in a RV just to be able to sleep i some AC.
GREAT experience will never forget it.
