I lost my dad in December 2007 to cancer. Since then I have committed to living a better life, losing 40 pounds and creating a regular exercise habit. I still have 30 pounds to lose, and I am working hard at it. I don't ever want to be weak and let cancer get the best of me. I'm going to do what I can to be strong. Writing the letter to cancer helped to remind me what I had to give up to finally get my health on the right track.

I wrote my letter to cancer. What an AWESOME idea. It was very cathartic for me, I bet it will be for you too. Here's ,my letter: http://www.varianrapidarc.com/dear_cancer/letter/368

This is such a cool site. I feel less alone in my struggle after reading many of the letters people have written.

My grandpa died from lung cancer 2 days ago. Writing this letter made me feel better and made me feel like I was doing something good in his memory.

I went to the website and wrote my letter as I said I would! I am a person who has overcome leukemia as a child and I am fighting for my life again with neuroblastoma. Writing that letter was such a liberating experience because I could say to cancer everything I've always wanted to. From taking my mother and father from me to making me battle it twice (and I am only 18 years old) I was delighted to be able to say to the disease that I don't care what it does, cancer will NOT take my life from me!
