Poor circulation, blood clots, hypertension, kidney disorders and diabetes may increase the risk of foot ulcers. Treatment depends on the underlying cause and may include wound dressing, medications and prosthetics. Application of certain chemicals, such as silver, to the wound dressing may promote healing.
