Exercises for Ruptured Disks

Exercises for Sciatica in the L5 Lumbar Disk

Sciatica is a term describing the resulting symptoms of aggravation to the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve originates in your lower back and travels down the back of your legs. Sciatica symptoms include shooting pain, tingling and numbness. Sciatica pain is associated with herniated or ruptured discs of the lumbar spine. When your lumbar disc L5 herniates or ruptures, it compresses your sciatic nerve resulting in sciatica pain symptoms. Exercise alleviates pain from and prevents the development of sciatica.
