Cinnamon is most commonly used today as a spice, however dating back as far as the times when then Bible was written there is mention of it being used for medicinal purposes. Folk medicine uses of cinnamon include cold and flu symptoms, flatulence, nausea and vomiting. Other uses include digestive support and calming diarrhea. Although cinnamon can be used to lessen the severity of cold and flu symptoms it should not be seen as an alternative to directed medical treatment.
