Does anyone else us a pedometer? Since attaching a small pedometer to my waistband, I find that it make me more aware of exercise. I started off at 6,000 steps per day and increase my walking by 100 steps whenever I reach my goal.

Today, my goal is 6,900 steps.

I use a Bodybugg, which also counts my steps as part of what it measures. I love it -- makes me more aware of trying to be up-and-about all through my day, instead of just relying on my workout time to burn calories.

My goal is to always get 10,000 steps a day. This really makes me conscious of my level of physical activity each and every day. At first a low day for me could have been 3000 steps. Now there are nearly always 10,000 or more steps to each day. I so love the days there are even more than 10,000 steps. I'd recommend a pedometer for anyone. Such a cheap purchase can result in so much good health.

I basically wear one every day and have for the last 2 years. It really helps ensure that I get activity throughout the day.

I also use a pedometer for all the reasons mentioned by others. With a desk job it makes you aware of the need to move!! I am involved in a challenge at work and would love it if there was a posting for the number of steps and its calorie equivalent here as part of the fitness page. I never know how to count it since I don't walk at any particular speed or length of time.

Hi everybody, first time poster here. I’ve been using a pedometer by Telenav. It is really useful to me because I can see other people’s bike routes and the best part is calculating the calories I can burn. (see it here: http://maps.telenav.com/tnmap/). Just wondering if anybody has a calorie counter they recommend?

I have been rather lethargic since my original post iro pedometers. However, at last I have managed the 6,000 mark for 2 days so now my target today is 6,100. I will get there--slow but sure.

I found an app for my iphone called Pacemeter, its great.

It tells you how many: steps, your speed, calories burned and total time you walked. I highly recommend it.

I work in a casino in Las Vegas and I know I trek a lot of miles a day. I was shocked when I saw that I walk 2 1/2 to 3 miles per day.

I'm so motivated right now since finding this app on my phone and signing up with the website.....

That sounds like a good website. What is its name?
My pedometer has been registering over 6,100 steps, so my target is not over 6,200 steps per day.
