I have been searching the web for diet advice without when I came across Livestrong... hopefully you guys can help me out!

I reached my weight loss goal about a month and a half ago. I had been doing really well eating at maintenance and I was letting myself have a free meal every weekend. After a couple of weeks I decided that it would be better if I let myself have smaller treats throughout the week as long as I was not over my calorie goal. I think that not allowing myself to have the high calorie things that I was REALLY craving as well as college stress led to a huge binge last weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday I ate nothing but cookies, donuts, pizza, halloween candy, pancakes... you name it. I probably ate about 2500-3000 calories OVER maintenance each day. So, this past week I decided to cut calories by about 250 and work out an extra day. But I weighed myself this morning and I was 139.5 :( . I know some of the weight is water retention because its my time of the month (i usually gain 3-4 lbs) but I am still nowhere close to normal! Should I continue to cut calories? Or will my weight slowly go back to normal if I eat at maintenance (assuming that I gained almost 2 pounds last weekend).

Another question, I weighed 134-135 (height 5' 8 1/2") after coming off of my diet but started upping my workouts right after (mainly jogging and doing the elliptical) would this cause me to gain any weight in muscle at all or would that require weight lifting?

I know this is a lot but I would greatly appreciate some feedback. I have been worrying about this all week!

I am no expert and am having terrible challenges losing wt period, but I have read a lot.
Don't cut your calorie intake too low as your body will rebel and go into starvation mode and your metabolism will decrease. I would go back on maintenance and cut back about 100 calories per day for about a week working out as you have been. Or just add in some extra walking per day for a week. I would not freak about it and go drastic. Sounds like you are doing great!

you are right, could be the time of the month and you don't need to do anything!
