I went to Borders today and was browsing their nutrition section, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for books that have been useful to them?

For Fitness, I love New Rules of Lifting For Women - How to Lift Like a Man and Look Like a Goddess. It also discusses nutrition. As far as more nutrition? The best thing you can do is by yourself a cookbook that is full of natural foods with good descriptions about the different kinds of wholesome foods there are.

I'm so intrigued by the title of this book! I think I'll have to pick it up next time I'm at the bookstore.

In Defense of Food pretty much covers it. At least that's how I felt about it.

I second and third the following titles:

In Defense of Food
What to Eat
Super Foods Rx
I also like Body for Life (I never did the program just got general info of exercise/nutrition)
Fast Food Nation is good is you want to be turned off of fast food forever
Skinny Bitch is very rant-y and one-sided but has some decent info on vegetarianism/veganism if you are interested in that at all

if you're serious about looking at several books, go to your library. I went to mine the other day and they had six full shelves of the various diet and fitness books. I found books that hadn't even been out six months and getting to read the books I wanted for two weeks for free was so much better than ordering a book with a 30-60 day trial period and having to return it if I didn't like like. Or worse, having to eat the cost of a book that didn't help me at all.

Great idea! It's also a good source for magazines!

Yes! I get most of mine at the library too and then buy the ones I want for my own collection.

So I was looking into a copy of "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle", but all I see after my quick search is a $39.00 ebook, or a hard copy for like $180??

What would be my best method for obtaining a copy of this book? For $180 I'll probably have to stick to pushups in the living room.

Hands down, the best nutrition book I have ever read is Intuitive Eating. I think I've read it 4 times, maybe 5? LOVE it!
