Like Atkins, WW, South Beach, etc.

Just curious what everyone follows & if it is working for you? :D

The Hacker's Diet lol And it works for me.

It's pretty much what we are doing here.... I'm also eating healthy and stuff, so I'm sure that's helping. Not really dieting, but changing my diet.

I am on my version of Nutrisystem and yes it is working so far for me. I basically follow their eating plan but sometimes (especially on the weekends) will substitute low calorie, home cooked meals for their pre-packaged stuff. I am tracking my food using TDP and trying to stay at or just under 1200 calories a day for now.

I admit that not everything they offer is delicious, but I have used this program before and I have a pretty good idea of what I like and what I don't. Plus, it is really convenient way to eat low calorie at work or if i am feeling lazy. And I know that if I stick with it, it works for me.

I have been on it one week and lost 3 lbs. so far! :D I know it is probably all water weight at this point, but I am feeling encouraged and determined to stick with it. And if anyone else on the program has some advice, I'd love to hear it. :D

I am Anti-Diet and Pro-Lifestyle Change ;) trying for the balanced diet approach. I think a diet suggests something temporary and I have always failed and yoyo'ed doing that. I have managed to maintain a lifestyle change better.

I'm on no specific diet. I've cut way back on things that tend to raise my cholesterol, but for what's left, I just practice portion control. I went out to breakfast with my husband this morning. We split an omelete between us. I got half the total portion of potatoes that came with it, and then I ate only half of that portion. It was plenty of food, and it seems to work for me.

I don't like to call what I do dieting, but rather eating healthier. Mainly because there are still a lot of people who instantly think of starving and depriving yourself of anything that tastes good when they hear the word diet.

I'm a calorie-counter.

Dieting is one of the things that contributed to my weight gain, so I decided to simply change my lifestyle. It's the only thing that's worked for me.

I combine Weight Watchers with Fat Smash. It works very well. Portion control is a problem for me and so is not eating enough fruits and veggies. Combining the 2 has really helped me pay attention to what I'm eating and make more heathly choices.

I also have decided to just change my lifestyle. I've found that most diets restrict in some area and that makes me want to cheat. After I cheat, I feel bad about myself and get discouraged and cheat more.

I do have a few rules that I follow when it comes to eating throughout the day though. I have to eat at least three servings each of dairy and vegetables and two servings each of fruits and whole grains. After that, I am pretty much free to eat what I want as long as the fat is 20g or less (usually a lot less) per meal and I stay within my daily calorie limits. I also eat six small meals every day to help keep me from snacking. So far, it has been working, I have lost 20 pounds and do not feel like I am depriving myself. :D

the only thing that has helped me lose weight is exercise and tracking my calories. it was such an eye-opener of how many calories i was eating when it came down to logging every bite. now it's only 8 months later, and i'm 20 pounds lighter. i'm determined to get my last 10 off by the end of this month.

i stopped tracking my calories a couple of months ago and i maintained my weight, didn't lose any during that two month period. i started tracking on tdp about a month ago and lost another 5 pounds just by tracking again, so it really does help to see what you're eating.

i've tried dieting previously and it didn't help at all. i felt starved all the time, and would over-eat. tracking my calories has also helped me disperse my calories throughout the day in a way that works for me. a little trial and error during the first month got me to figure out what works perfectly for me. since everyone's body works in different ways, i think that no matter what kind of diet or life-altering plan you are on, you need to make it work for yourself.

I'm using NutriSystem. I've lost 25lbs since end of July but was off plan too much and c/b much farther. Even though meals are pkg'd I find from using the ck off list/booklet that I make better choices thru the day since we do add our own produce and dairy.

My boyfriend and I are following the Slim Fast plan. We're not doing it so we can "slim down fast", we are doing it because it's teaching us portion control, and letting us know appropriate things to eat. It's not like we don't know the things already, but it's helping us stay on track, giving us meal plans and ideas, good snacks to have, etc. We had done it last year and it worked, except we went on vacation and then never got back on it. haha We hope that once we get down to our goal weights that we can keep doing the things the plan helped us learn. :)

We are also counting calories and exercising. So far, so good!!! :) I can already notice a difference! I feel so much better! It's nice to not have that incredibly stuffed feeling from eating too much!!! :)

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/docs/2007/lifestylecutdiet.pdf

I'm trying the lifestyle cut diet to break a plateau i've been on since October. It's similar to the zone diet. They wan't you have to have 5 meals a day spread out(i have trouble getting in 5). Two of the meals can have "good carb's", they wan't 5 servings of protein with every meal and 2 servings of "good" fat's. They also recommend tht you eat vegetables as much as you can and ideally with every meal. It's basically a healthier version of what i was previously doing and they emphasize exercise alot. The only thing i disagree with is that they say to take supplements, which is understandable since this diet came from prominent bodybuilding.com members. I won't do this, but i think the diet plan is sound.

Before then i was seeing a nutritional counselor , she helped me to lose about 40 pounds. However i felt that she was to radical in what she said, and had me on a a diet in which i could not eat any carbohydrates (fruits and veggies were okay, i mean like "bread" she even said i could'nt have whole wheat items), but i could as much meat as i wanted. What turned me off was when she told me to eat whole eggs and bacon for breakfast, i never did this, but it pissed me off that she actually would say this as a person with an MS in nutrition.

I started to feel that this was unhealthy so i stopped going to her in October and haven't lost weight since. However, i did try to do what she said for a few months longer but i cut out the exercising, i think this is what hurt me. I'm going to try to lifestyle cut and do at least the recommended 4X a week weight training + cardio. If I don't break the plateau by the middle of February i'm going to find an RD to consult with.

I'm in Atkins maintenance. I lost 30lbs 4 years ago and have maintaned my weight loss - i go up and down 5-7lbs depending on holidays etc but always get right back on track.

The biggest turning point was when i realized it was a way of life and not a diet. This is just second nature to me now. It's how I eat.
