Fruit Sugars

Nutrition Facts About Fruit Sugars

Fructose, or fruit sugar, is a simple sugar that lends a sweet taste to fruits, honey and most root vegetables. Many modern farmers grow fruit to have greater contents of sugar compared with the wild plants from which they descended. This enhances the taste of fruit to the average human palate. Fructose should be safe and relatively healthy as long as you limit your intake of the sugar to the consumption of natural fruits and vegetables. However, too much of any sugar, even in fruits, can be a bad thing.
