I am looking for a really rich, chocolatey delicious protein powder to add to either water
or Almond Breeze. Needs to be somewhat high in protein and low carbs, does not matter if
its soy whey or whatever...but what I am really looking for is a rich taste. Designer Whey
does not quite cut it, for me, and does not mix particularly well. I have been
drinking a lot of Chocolate Soy Slender, but now hoping to branch out to something with
higher protein than that. (soy slender has 7 protein per cup).
Looking for recommendations...If you have one to recommend, could you also write why you
like it over the others ? Thanks
Well, personally, i tried the unsweetened, but I wasn't as smart as other people to add a packet of truvia/splenda to it. So I thought it was terrible. LOL But I buy Almond Breeze original. It's 60 cal/cup, and delicious. Only thing is it's high in sugar.
Have you gone to GNC, Deb?? I can't remember what kind I bought there, but I put a scoop in a shaker bottle, add 8 oz of water/milk/liquid and shake it until it's mixed. i think shaking blends it much better than stirring. Sorry I'm not much help.
I haven't bought any in a while, but if I was going to buy some it would be the Jillian Michael's brand. Saw it at Walmart and only $10 a package or something. It seems to be 10-80 cals less than some others per serving... And I do believe there are probably fewer chemicals and things in it.
The 40 calories a cup, unsweetened, original Almond Breeze is absolutely great. It is not thin like skim or low fat milk. Its THICK and CREAMY tasting. kind of fatty tasting in a good way. I eat it with Dry Cereal all the time.
The other day I just discovered that its good mixing it with some protein powder, I drank it with some Aria (but thats vanilla), and it was a great combination. The Almond Breeze makes a drink feel thicker. I dont often drink it all by itself unless I add sweetener and maybe some flavor like cocoa or some sort of sugar free syrup. But its a really great product.
I never tried the 60 or 120 calorie, cause I figured why add calories when the 40 is just fine?
