Dairy???

posted by tweenke1 on 10:57 am

How much low fat dairy does everyone eat?  I feel like I am getting a lot but wasn't sure if that is a good thing or not.  On an average day I have:
1/2 serving for breakfast (skim milk in cereal)
2 servings at lunch (fat free cottage cheese)

Somedays like today I will have vanilla yogurt with fruit in it which would be another serving.
Anyone know what a good amount of dairy is?

Hrm, I really can't answer but I'll look forward to others' responses.  I have severely cut back my milk intake (I LOVE skim milk, but keep 1% on hand for cooking/cereal) since there are so many calories in it.  :(

I honestly don't do low-fat dairy because I am suspicious at the process for it.  I just make sure I have healthy small amounts of complete dairy.  A glass of milk a day and some cheese (usually with an apple)

I usually have 1 cup of skim milk for breakfast and then a 6oz cup of yogurt later on in the day, i also have cheese, but that isn't low fat, its usually average fat cheese thoughout the day.  so i'd say 3 servings of dairy.
