Fun Weekend

posted by Miss_Kelsi on 11:41 am

Alright, I had a great weekend and I want to share!!!
Had my friends 21st birthday on Friday.  Did yoga before I went out.  We had fun - sushi and then to the bars.  I only pulled out $40 cash and told myself that was it for dinner/drinks.  Sushi was good, had a Philadelphia roll, which I'd never had before.  Pretty good!  Fruit roll kinda sucked though.  Hit the bars, had the equivalent to 2 long islands that was served to me in a fishbowl (yeah, that's how we do it here in ol' Iowa... all classy-like).  A lemon-drop shot and cranberry vodka later, I was done for the night (came home with $15, whoo-hoo!).

Saturday did yoga again.  Had a wedding at 7pm - which I thought was SUPER late.  It was cute though, the bride is a solid 2' shorter than the groom.  When they were going to do their kiss, one of the groomsmen grabbed a stepladder for her.  It was hilarious!  Got to the reception hall (they just did fruit, cheese/crackers, and cake - which I was allowing room for in my calorie count) and come to find out, the place that was supposed to do the cake - FORGOT TO MAKE IT - so some of the friends of the couple ran to the grocery store and got about 10 birthday cakes - sans writing.  My dad got a piece, then my brother grabbed a piece for my mom and himself, and I just never went up and got any.  Total, I had 1 full slice of salami, 4 chunks of pineapple, and 6 grapes.  WIN!

Last but not least - Sunday I got up early and made it to church on time (shocking, considering the time change).  I met up with my friends Jeff and Chris who moved 4 hours away.  Went to Caribou Coffee and had a small vanilla pomegranate tea latte - DELICIOUS!!!  Only 200 calories with 2% milk!  Next time I'll get skim.  After that, I went to the gym and ran my 3 miles with a 1/2 mile walk.  I shaved off about 4 minutes.  YAY!

you did fabulous!
on a side note, if the place I was getting married in forgot to make my cake, I would chop their heads off, sue them, and then kill them all over again :D

Yeah... it doesn't really sound filling and the tea sounds kinda funky... haha.

About the birthday cakes: we actually got a kick out of it because the maid of honor (the bride's little sister) turned 14 on Saturday (day of the wedding), so I guess she got the last laugh!

Great job with your choices!  I would be super if they forgot my wedding cake.  But that's cool it was actually someones birthday.
vanilla pomegranate tea latte sounds awesome!  I have been on a major pomegranate kick lately - gatorade, sobe water, propl, etc.
