New and Excited

posted by schulzr on 9:46 pm

Hey everyone, I am 22 years old, a stay at home mother and wife, my children are both toddlers and my husband is currently deployed for 6 months....we have one month down and 5 more to go! I decided that I wanted to surprise him and loose 40 pounds before he came home....I know that I can do it but I just a little motivation since he is gone. I used tobe really tone in high school but getting married and out of a workout routine and then having two babies back to back hasn't done me any justice, I was wondering if I could get any advice on how to start losing weight and getting back in shape, as well as toning back up. I would greatly appreciate the advice thanks.

Welcome Rebecca, Im doing P90x and its really amazing, I do it while my toddler is asleep or at 6am before they wake up.
I also track almost everything I eat because it keeps me accountable. . . most of the time :0 )

Yes! Track your calories and make sure to count everything-- Even small bites of food and spices and even the diet sodas or whatnot you may be drinking.  Welcome to the group!  Its nice to see new faces.

P90X is an INCREDIBLE program!  You can check it out at beachbody.com.  I'm not sure what your fitness level is now or what your financial situation is, but if you can do it, I highly recommned P90X.
Foodwise--eat lots of veggies, fruit, lean proteins, and whole grains. Limit processed foods, even things like Lean Cuisines. Some are ok but  not too much.   Like others have said, track everything and see where your problems are.  That will help you figure out where you really need to focus.
Welcome to the group!
