Level 2 people!

posted by rosemary1979 on 9:34 am

So I was supposed to do level 2 on Thursday morning but didn't get up. To make up for it, I did a walk on Friday but then on Saturday, I did Level 2 for the first time. WOW! I was literally dripping sweat and spent most of the time waiting for it all to end. Naturally, I can't do all the moves (instead of the walk out push ups, I just do push ups since I need to improve on them anyways) but I'm going to stick with it. I woke up extra early today and did Level 2 again (we went to bed early, funny how that works!) and got to work before 8 am... that's an hour before my usual arrival time! I used my heart monitor again but didn't see as high of an average heart rate; I'm going to have to ramp it up a bit! It still killed me and sweat was dripping from my face so I feel like it's a good workout.

The push ups are killer, who would have thought something that seems so simple would be killer. I have noticed when I breathe correctly I am able to do more push ups for some reason. Either way I am mixing 30 Day Shred in with other work outs and today did Level 1...always an awesome feeling afterwards and I can FINALLY do all the side lung front raises yay!

by rosemary1979 on Jan 25, 2012 at 10:30 am

The side lunge with a front raise is a shoulder KILLER! I think I just barely got through them all but I really struggle. I haven't done a Shred since Monday and I'm missing it!

Yoga?

posted by rosemary1979 on 6:54 pm

I didn't Shred today to make up for yesterday but I walked with weights instead. I'm not sore, though so I need to Shred SOON! One thing I DID do, was I tried Jillian's Yoga Level 1 routine. So, yes, I've tried it before and I basically get through the warm up and quit because 1) I don't know the moves so I can't transition and 2) it's just TOO hard! By that, I mean, it was hurting my back so I decided not to do it. Anyways, it seems like a tough routine (so far) if you're interested in trying it.

by Tschaich on Jan 21, 2012 at 10:35 am

I love yoga meltdown, it is tough I will admit that! Weightloss has always  been a battle for me I did 30 day shred for 30 days and saw some fat melt away but it was until I did the Yoga Meltdown that I really started to see improvements!! I did it again on Thursday for the first time in a long time and I was for sure feeling it at work the next day!!

by rosemary1979 on Jan 23, 2012 at 9:31 am

I agree -- it's very hard. I would have stuck with it but my back (and I have back problems) started to hurt so I was afraid of doing damage. That said, I'm thinking I should try to watch it through all the way just so I know what's coming next. Thanks for the encouragement, though -- I'll give it another try in a week or two.

Level 2

posted by rosemary1979 on 9:16 am

The truth is that I didn's Shred this morning even though I was excited to try Level 2 for the first time. I have lots of excuses (power outage last night, did an extra work out last night) but my HOPE is to either try it tonight or tomorrow some time. I'm still enthusiastic about my workouts but I just needed a little rest this morning. How's everyone else doing?

by bethy87 on Jan 19, 2012 at 9:47 am

well I have slacked off for about a week now so I am hoping to jump back in!! You are doing a great job though!!!

Five iShreds

posted by rosemary1979 on 9:33 am

My fifth day of shredding went well; I was SO sleepy this morning and the bed was very cozy but I had moved my alarm back a few minutes so even with my hesitation, I managed to finish up earlier than yesterday. My husband was encouraging and I can almost do the entire work out without stopping. I still do modified push ups and can do most, but not all of them. The jump rope in the first part still hurts my calves but I'm trying to battle through it. And the side lunges with the weight lifts still prove too much for my arms. I'm definitely getting there, though so I'm encouraged. That said, I plan on starting Level 2 tomorrow. I thought I might alternate between the two levels for a few days (like five) and then do just level 2 for five more days and then incorporate Level 3. Does that sound good to you guys? How do you make the switch? How did the switch work for you/was it successful?

iShred FOUR

posted by rosemary1979 on 12:48 pm

So today was day four on level one for me. Tomorrow I'm going to do it again and then on Thursday, I'm going to move to Level 2 before my weekend/break. It seems like I've been doing this a lot longer than four days but it still doesn't feel like habit yet. I think I might be getting a little stronger, but I can't really tell. It'll be interesting to see how I do on Level 2....

I have done this before and even though I didn't  make it the full 30 I saw excellent results! This time I am going to completion!

iShred^3

posted by rosemary1979 on 11:31 am

So it's Shred Day Number 3 for me and I'm REALLY proud of myself for getting up this morning to do it. A storm moved in over night and the wind was so loud it kept me up; I probably only got a few hours of sleep and when my alarm went off, I opened my eyes and just laid there thinking how I needed the extra sleep and should just take it. And then I thought that I was being crazy because I really NEED to lose weight. My husband had the day off so it was even harder to get up but he's going to cook dinner tonight for me and he called to tell me how proud of me he was.
My next goal is to move to Level 2 -- should I be able to do Level 1 completely before moving on to level 2? I don't know if I'll ever be able to do that many pushups! Is it okay to start alternating Level 2 after five days of Level 1? I almost can't take the same routine day after day after day.
Happy shredding everyone!
