This is a group, obviousely, for people that want to lose 30 pounds or more, that wants to restrict their calorie consumption, but not neccesarily certain food groups (carbs etc.)
After hearing my doctor describe me as obese, I decided to do something about it. In 1/1/09 I decided to loose 40 lbs. My weight then was 240 lbs. My origional goal was to loose 40 lbs in 40 weeks. I later revised my goal to loose 2 lbs/week until I had lost 20 lbs and then slow the rate of loss down to 1 lb/week. I joined LiveStrong shortly after starting my diet. My diet is a reduced calorie diet of my own design. I am also watching my sodium, fiber, etc. to maintain a healthy diet. As of 1/28/09 I weigh 122 lbs - a loss of 18 lbs so far. My body fat % was 31% and is now 28%. I have been walking 1.5 miles each day at a speed of 4 mph. However, I have injured my right knee somehow and will have to stop walking for a few days.
