Hello, I'm not incredibly over weight but have some high blood pressure issues and I'm
simply looking to feel better and have some more energy. If I can loose few pounds too?
I'll take it! I've been an off and on work out person and I usually go on a "Fad" diet
with some sucess (low carb, Adkins, etc...) have a slip, and give up completely. I would
like to try something different this time. Something more sustainable and not beat myself
up cause I have a cupcake or slice of pie in a weak moment. I'm gonna get rid of the all
or nothing approach starting now. Wish me luck.

new year and of course i am detrermined to lose at least 50 lbs, i am the heaviest i have ever been at 200 now :( i hide current pics of myself from friends on face book but do admitt to being a bigger girl then they remember (was 100 till i had my son) but just dont want them to see it ! i know i can do it, i have been floating between 150 and 180 then last year hit the 200 mark for the first time, lost 20 then let it all come back, i am going to need all the help i can get and hope you all can be there for me when i need it :)
I've seen every day people do some amazing things by being persistant, believing in themselves, and getting fit. It sucks when the weight comes back... it sucks when you see that awful number on the scale. Let that help to motivate you. I told my awful number that I don't want to see it anymore. Bid 200 farewell!
Im right up there with you. never had a real weight problem but have always had to watch what i ate as it loves to stick to me! but i let myself let it creap up on me and here i am at 220 lbs. said it was 226 this morning but that is water wieght from the holidays! by this time next week it will be the real 220. i have gained 70 lbs in the last 8 years and i am determined to get past it this year! i lost 33 lbs 2 years ago and it is coming back slowly. but not again. i am on my treadmill at least 20 min a day and i am staying to 1200 or less calories. i am also 54 and need to get it off or i will continue to be in hbp and heart problems. i just need to really work on drinking water! i can't do tap water and the water cooler is on the fritz. so i must get something going here! Stay Strong as that is what this webiste is supposed to tell us! we can do it! :) add me and i will continue to write back! hey... i need help too!

OK, so what is the rule regarding facebook profile
photos. I have a great picture that was taken a hundred years ago before I got fat.
Half of my friends knew me before I gained the lbs and the others knew me when I was a
skinny and stylish. Why do fashion designers feel compelled to add a stupid dove or cat
to every single blouse? Just because I’m fat doesn't mean that I want to dress like a
100 year old preschool teacher or dental assistant (no offence to the old folks and
absolutely no offence to preschool teachers or dental assistants). Thanks in advance for

New to MyPlate

This is my first day to use MyPlate and in my healthy lifestyle change. Looking for all the support I can get!! According to my trainer - I have about 30 lbs to start shedding!!

I lost 40 lbs 2 years ago and gained all but 10 lbs back. Now I'm back on Livestrong and toeing the line once again. I've already lost weight and haven't been on it for 7 days yet. I find logging my food doesn't allow for me to "sneak" food.
My advice too you: Log EVERYTHING you put in your face, no matter how minor it is. Set your calorie goal and then record, record and RECORD some more. This will keep you "honest". Also, drink a TON of water. My biggest success has been in having cut veggies handy when I feel like I "need" a snack. Best of luck to you!!

I have been tracking EVERYTHING and really in just the first week have learned a ton. Plus - sticking to a 1200 calorie a day diet isnt quite as hard as what I thought it would be. Wokring out twice a week with a trainer and then on my own at least 3 times a week I'm sure will make a HUGE difference. Its going to be a long road and I've got only the first week down, but, I can already feel the difference in my energy level and just better mood. Thanks for the help!!

I'm hopeful today.. wanting to get back to feeling better. I've been trying to eat more fruit, and drink more water.. I cut out the pop (soda). Going to start exercising daily. =] I have a tread mill, so that helps, I also have two dogs that I can walk. Wish me luck on losing my 27lbs =) i'm trying to get better about joking about the matter more, and being happy instead of stressing myself out!

Welcome to the start of a new you! Walking the dog is a great motivator for me. In fact, I got a big dog just so I had to go for a walk every single day. Four years later I have a trim and fit dog and I've lost 30 and have kept it off.
You can do it too!
