Hey Hey Hey! It's a brand new day so what do you people have to say???? Whine, Bitch, Bellow and Moan, just remember, you're never alone. Share your victories, vent your defeats, & share advice, just give our room a little of your own special spice! (Cheesy enough?)
Okay, I went to crazy foodland for Thanksgiving AKA my parents house and I secretly joined
Jackson in her goal to lose weight over Thanksgiving and I promised myself I would have
one of those body wrap things to rid myself of my toxins and restore minerals well I did
it, according to the gym scale I lost 1.5 lbs. YAHOO FOR ME but here comes the ....
Ladies and gents I am ALWAYS in the car. Not to get into all of our families beeswax...I
spend 3-4 hours in the car a day transporting kids to school, therapy etc. Therefore
there are some meals I eat on the road and instead of packing a lunch I just eat junk and
you know what I WILL not get that body wrap if I continue to eat the crap I do..
Today was my son's birthday party and I ate pizza and cake.....And then after the party my
daughters hearing aide broke so instead of going home to make dinner I had to get it fixed
and well...
If I don't pack something when I take my daughter to school in the morning I may not get
home until dinner or later and sometimes I am TOO lazy to deal with it and I HATE THAT
about myself. i would never not put diesel gas in my unleaded car, I won't give my
daughter dairy and I am careful about not giving my son things that aggravate his acid
reflux so what the HELL is up with taking care of me.....
I am tired of being in the car and I am tired of eating crap and I am just plain old
tired.........
Can you keep stuff like granola bars and stuff like that in your car? I'm thinking that this way, when you get hungry, you'll have low calorie snacks on hand.
Melanie I want you to feel like you deserve that body wrap!
I used to be so embarassed by what I ate in my car - the wrappers I threw away before anyone could see them told a sad story.
It doesn't freeze in Texas (at least often) so you could keep a little container loaded with apples, energy bars (the kind with protein & fiber; some granola bars are nearly all sugar), or whatever healthy kinds of snacky things you like (but don't like TOO much so you can control the amounts). Perhaps some sugar-free chewing gum. Choose things that will keep for a week and load it on the weekends, so you don't have to remember each morning when you are so busy.
And this would help your kids too (because they are in the car too)develop better eating habits too. I notice now that I leave a bowl of fresh fruit on the counter my daughter grabs an apple instead of asking me if she can have some Goldfish crackers. We ALL eat what is easiest.
Next, review the nutritional menus for the fast food places that are on your routes and make some reasonable food choices that appeal to you - Wendy's small chili (no cheese) and an ice tea, Burger King broiled chicken sandwhich (no mayo)and a diet Coke, etc.
THEN make those things, and only those, your "driving eating options" to fuel that beautiful vehicle of yours! When you eat right you'll have more energy - it's a vicous cycle!
I keep saying this but it's so true: FAIL TO PLAN; PLAN TO FAIL. Good luck!
I agree with Azkate. If you plan everything out you will succeed! Try packing a sandwich or low calories snacks. Keep a water bottle handy so that you can put some crystal light in it. Those types of low or no calorie drinks fill me up. Protein shakes are always handy as well because they keep you going and content. Take the advice and run with it. Try it out and hopefully it works. You will feel better and have more energy.
