I have been trying to be good. I got two huge gift baskets at work today. Instead of taking them home with me, like I would have done every other year, I "regifted" them to the post office and the bank. The people there always make my work life easier so I figured it'd be a nice way to say "thanks" and I won't have to see those treats anymore.

That wasn't wrong, was it? What else could I have done with them?

Well, I have a confession to make. I'm about to do some chocolate Truffles...I found this recipe on the Internet. It's so easy even I can do it (I'm an horrible cook). So i told myself what the heck, I'll impress my hubby. So i bought all the ingredients (you know some 35% cream, dark chocolate, butter, cacao powder....it's all in my kitchen !!!!!). I would love to give them all away BUT I know what will happen...So tomorrow check out my dairy I'm pretty sure you'll finde some chocolate truffles au menu :( lol And i have my X-mas party tomorrow ...

truffles....aren't those that really expensive fungus that they use pigs to find???

Yes, truffles are fungus but it's also a name for a really good desert. It's looks like a little ball made of chocolate and dust with cocoa powder. You can add some alcohol (brandy, bailys, marinier, cognac etc...). It's really goooood but really rich too (you have some dark chocolat, some at least 15% cream and some butter....)

Please don't tell me any more about truffles. Today I had to "try" one of those Ghiradlis eggnoog chocolate squares I learned from someone on TDP "was to die for". If I hadn't read that post i swear to God I would have said "no thanks"!

Studies show that people who hang out with fat people eat more and get fatter then when they hang out with thin people. I am beginning to see why! I have enough serious chocolate addictions - DO NOT NEED TO HEAR ABOUT NEW ONES!!!!

lol good one Kate , taking advantage of your non-english friend to tease lol. I love Ghiradlis squares too, yes we have them in Montreal too (and they're everywhere !!!! always on display in front of you, when you are waiting in line....). So I keeping my super easy truffles-fungus (lol) recipe to myself ( i didn't try it yet...but tomorrow I may not resiste...)don't worry. Have a nice day :)

Well think about those pigs rooting around in the mud for truffles (the other truffles) to control yourself tomorrow! Use the 1-bite rule, the 3-bite rule - whatever it takes to feel in control!!! My joke was meant with the very best on intent!

And I never think of Canadians as anything but Americans only smarter. (with no insult intended!) Here is a quiz: How many of you American TDP-ers can answer these questions off the top of your head: How many provinces in Canada? How many territories? Name them, and locate them on a map. Who is their Prime Minister? ANY Canadian can name all 50 states, locate them on the map and knows all about American politics!

Lol You are so funny Kate, I love you responses ! Technicly I'm polish (but i live in Canada...). I was made, borne and raised in Poland by two polish parents (not normal but really cool and i love them to death :)). I lived in Algeria for 10 years and came to Canada in 1989. I speak french and polish and i try my best in english (but it's still difficult for me sometimes to find the right words sorry for that...). I can name and locate all americans states that is true but am I any smarter because of that...I don't know. USA is a huge and great country and it has a big influence on the world so I guess that is way people know it better than let's say Canada or Poland...
