Hey Hey Hey! It's a brand new day so what do you people have to say???? Whine, Bitch, Bellow and Moan, just remember, you're never alone. Share your victories, vent your defeats, & share advice, just give our room a little of your own special spice! (Cheesy enough?)
I did exercise today, although I probably shouldn't have. Knee (actually inside left
knee, right below cap) is still a little tender but I dont know why. I'm scared to stop
working out because I am desperate to lose these last 10 lbs. It's like I know I'm
probably hurting myself but I can't stop. :( I can't go to doctor because my new job
insurance doesnt kick in until 1st of Aug.
My brain says stop working out and possibly damaging knee more but my heart/body says I
NEED to get rid of those last 10 lbs!!
Signed,
Stupid
Have you thought about going by CVS and picking up one of those latex knee braces and using one to see if it helps when you walk? Also taking some Aleve or Motrin every day to help with possible inflammatory issues and using ice several times a day..most especially after walking. I don't think I would do any high impact or lunges/aquats..I would just walk and be sure I was wearing good shoes. I would use an ice pack at least 3/4 times a day for 10-15 minutes front and back.
I agree with Robin! no high impact and dont push yourself!! if you get really injured you wont be able to do anything for a lot longer...just be patient with yourself!
love you guys and your pointers. I did actually stop at CVS this AM and bought an ice wrap for knee and some Bengay. I did do a little swimming, thanks. I do have good shoes also. I just need to focus mostly on that ice part I think. I only noted this stuff you know I'm not a COMPLETE idiot!!! HHAHAHA
Thanks for the pointers and support!!!
If your S.O. was working out under thos conditions, what would you tell him? You'd tell him to stop, or at least find something that doesn't hurt. You look great, and while you may really want to lose those 10 lbs., they are not worth permanent injury to your knee. I know too many people who just lived with the pain and then needed knee relacements as they aged. For your own good, try something different.
Finally, most Walgreens near me have a clinic where a nurse practicioner is on duty. If there's one near you, you could have them check out your knee at a much lower cost than a doctor. Maybe you should give that a shot.
You're absolutly right wcdunning, as all of you are. I'm addicted to weight loss. HAHAHA. I promise to only do swimming, light walking (like on my 30 min breaks at work) and upper body until I figure something out.
I'll check on that Walgreens thing. THANKS.
I feel your pain! I suffer from knee problems from years of racing motocross that keeps me from doing any strenuous excercise involving my knees. The one thing that I can do that is a great workout is swimming. I love to swim. Water is fun. Babes in bikini's. (mind digresses...)
Another excersise my therapist (physical not mental) had me do is to sit in a chair with my knee as close to the edge of the chair as possible. Place a 5 lb bag of sugar, dogfood, etc... on my foot and lift it in the air as high as possible and hold it for as long as possible. This helps strengthen the muscles on the top and inside of your legs. Then gradually work up to higher weights. (I had to do this because I dislocated my kneecap so bad that two of the tendon's on the left side of my leg actually snapped back into my leg.) Yeah it hurt, but I got over it.
Hope your knee gets better, mine did.
P.S. I agree with wcdunning, you look great! Don't over do it. Don't worry, be happy! Besides, you could look like me and that's just wrong on so many different levels.
