Me versus the closet monster

posted by Tazsmit on 5:47 am

As usual my cat decided to wake me at 4:58am for breakfast.  I layed in bed and did my stretching then got up and did more.  I glanced out the window, as promised, it is a chilly, cloudy, rainy day here.  As I stared out the window trying to find a ray of sunshine, to make the day seem a little brighter.  Alas, there was none.  I turned to my cats and promised to feed them as soon as I had done my morning ritual and started the coffee.  I went to the kitchen and was making my coffee.  Suddenly a loud noise startled me!  Oh yes, I realized, today was Thursday and I was to step on the dreaded closet monster.  As promised, I had stayed away (mostly ) from that dreaded beast for a week.  It seemed happy that I did not bother it every day but it knew today was the day.  I finished the coffee and went to the bathroom.  As I turned on the light the monster became more awake.  It grumbled at the light seeping under the closed door for it does not like to be disturbed.  I continued past the closet for my morning ritual .  As I prepared to step on the scale I looked in the mirror.  The "baby" bulge we named Grissel looked huge!  I consolled myself with the fact that I have been sick and living on too much sodium and living on nutirion drinks and gatorade.  I knew this was coming and felt a little blue.  As I looked in the mirror I gave myself a pep talk.  I will get better and be back at war with the closet monster soon.

With my spine stiffened, I slowly approached the closet.  As I got closer it got more agitated and made these horrible noises.  Stopping with my hand above the handle and paused.  What if I skipped today?  Would the monster be nicer tomorrow?  Shaking my head I knew the answer was no.  I had to face the monster for better or worse.  I opened the door and it laughed.  It was the most evil laugh I had heard.  Chills raced through my body as goose bumps popped up everywhere!  NO!! This was a bad idea!  The monster was in a bad mood and I scared.  My resolve falling away like a leaf in a wind storm.  I started to shut the door and it made a sound of triumph for it had won this battle.  Pausing, what should I do?  Let the beast rest or face it down?  As it continued to bask in its glory of having beaten me, then and there I decided I would not let it win.  The number might not be what I want but I would step on the monster.

Stiffing my spine again, I pulled open the closet and fully awoke the monster.  It's single glowing blue eye opened and stared at me, daring me to step on it.  As it ran through it's little numbers sytem to mess with your mind I continued to stare until if finally signaled it was ready.  Slowly I stepped on and waited.

Gotta potty back soon!

by freyja5683 on May 31, 2012 at 6:20 am

Okay, I'm in and here. PLEASE FINISH THE STORY!

by Tazsmit on May 31, 2012 at 6:22 am

Time to finish the story.

I counted to five and looked down.  The monster was really in a bad mood for it continued not to show me my numbers.  I cursed it under my breath and waited.

Did the numbers not go that high? Scary thought, a digitial scale that does not go high enough.  That would be weird or maybe they do have a weight limit.  I should really look that up.  I suppose you would like me to finish?  Okay since you are holding your breath and turning blue right now or laughing so hard you might have an accident or people are looking at you like you are crazy.  LOL

Finally the monster stopped.  I stared in dismay.  Seriously?  It had to be a joke.  I could not believe it.  I stepped off the monster and shut the door to give it the peace it wanted and let it go back to sleep.  The monster can be cruel at times however, I did not think this would happen but it did.

The monster said (hope I saved it) that I my weight had changed by 2lbs.  Oh yeah I suppose you would like to know which way the two went?  It was a negative.

The End.

by freyja5683 on May 31, 2012 at 6:31 am

Taz, that is awesome! I bet you would have seen a bigger one if you had actually been able to eat some normal food. Hopefully this bland thing will not last too long. Though, you should try and stick to it more times than not, as the doctor told me
I am so happy for you!

by Tazsmit on May 31, 2012 at 6:33 am

Thanks Frey.  I really don't remember if I saved it or not and will have to check it later.

by freyja5683 on May 31, 2012 at 6:41 am

That's okay you will remember either way :)

by Tazsmit on May 31, 2012 at 6:56 am

I did post it on MFP.  Wanted to wait until you both had a chance to read the story since it has been awhile since I wrote one.  Okay, trying to avoid the horrendous spreadsheet I have to do!

by Tazsmit on May 31, 2012 at 9:49 am

I actually do not mind eating this way.  I just miss pizza, mexican and my V8's.  I cannot get veggies or fruits in right now.

by freyja5683 on May 31, 2012 at 10:56 am

Ah but pizza and Mexican are so bad for someone who has the issues you do, trust me I know and I not nearly as bad as you are with it. I find that the 40 mg of the nexium no name brand works pretty well for me and as long as I do not eat to much greasy food or spicy I am good. Good news is that I don't like spicy so I'm good there an greasy I tend to try and stay away from.

Weigh In

posted by snuglbunie on 3:15 am

Hi girls:
Before I went into the office, I wanted to let you know that I lost .5 lb. and I didn't get on that scale all week except for this morning.  It take up some precious time in my head, but I'm happy I stuck to it.  I'm also very happy with the results :)
Hope everyone is doing good!

by freyja5683 on May 31, 2012 at 6:04 am

way to go Snug, I am up .4lbs from last week but MFP wasn't showing that for some reason last week I was at 156.4 this week 156.8. But I also only got in two short walks with the dog yesterday. But I got my toes done :)

by Tazsmit on May 31, 2012 at 6:06 am

Glad you got rest and Me time in last night!!!  That .4 will be gone before you know it.  I have faith.

by Tazsmit on May 31, 2012 at 6:07 am

When you gain MFP does not show that.  I found that out last week when I weighted in.

by freyja5683 on May 31, 2012 at 6:38 am

Well I am just wondering why it didn't record properly last week, as on the 17th I was at 157.8 then on the 24th I was at 156.4 then this week 156.8.

by Tazsmit on May 31, 2012 at 9:47 am

Maybe it cannot do math?  Did you check your numbers from last week to make sure you entered them in correctly?

by freyja5683 on May 31, 2012 at 11:04 am

I'm wondering if I didn't save or if I backed out of the screen to do something else. Oh well what's done is done.

by Tazsmit on May 31, 2012 at 12:24 pm

Very possible.  Like you said its done and at least now you know this week is in there.

My body media said something nice

by Tazsmit on May 30, 2012 at 7:01 am

Right now it is usually telling that i have consumed too many carbs.  Hello living on ensure, gatorade, and yogurt.  Now addinbg belvita.  Carb city here I come!!!

by freyja5683 on May 30, 2012 at 7:11 am

It's always nice to hear good things, even if they are coming from electronics. I was happy  to see that you were able to get your calories up yesterday, hope that you are feeling a bit better today and keep things up the way they are currently going. Sorry the food is so bland, but as you start to feel better you can add some other things in and see how they work.
Good luck hun!

by Tazsmit on May 30, 2012 at 7:20 am

Thanks Frey.  He did season the bacon and most of it got pulled off.  Probably over added but that is okay.  Today I purchased more ensure (dark chocolate & butter pecan), brought vanilla yogurt, belvita, nuts, string cheese, and gatorade.  Sounds yummy doesn't it?  LOL  Hopefully something similar for dinner tonight.  Doing a little better.  Still getting stomach cramps and my tush hurts.   Brought a blanket in to sit on and heating pad is here.

The food does not really bother me, just the small selection, I miss working out the most.  I can walk but that is it.  No yoga, zumba, jogging in place.  Just walking.  Oh well, be thankful for the small things in life.

by freyja5683 on May 30, 2012 at 7:35 am

I can understand that :) the selection can be rather daunting and the not working out would bother me too. But at least you can walk. I would walk for as long as I possibly could a many times as I could. But I love to walk. I still haven't started the rookie running program, not sure when I might. Last night I cranked the tread mill up to an incline of 8% and gosh that was tough, but I loved every minute of it. Today my shins are a bit more tender than normal, but that might have something to do with me not icing or using the other stuff and I also did an hour and a half walk with the dog the day before. So all in all, things are good there.

by Tazsmit on May 30, 2012 at 8:28 am

I can believe your shins hurt!  That is a great work out.  I am walking in crements.  I just get so tired and dizzy so easily which we both know is because I am not getting enough nutrition and what little I get is not staying around for long.  I just need to suck it up and push as far as I can.  The rest will come with time and healing.  Just trying to make myself feel better now.  I am pathetic.

by freyja5683 on May 30, 2012 at 8:57 am

YOU ARE NOT PATHETIC! Please do not say that, you are doing the best you can right now. You are eating all that you can, though I would try oatmeal for energy if you can soon. What about a tuna fish sandwich for lunch, they say tuna is bland....Work with what you can right now, everything else will fall into place once you take care of yourself.

by snuglbunie on May 30, 2012 at 9:34 am

YOU ARE NOT PATHETIC!  I totally agree with Frey and you are doing good.  Look, even your electronics are saying so.  Be good to yourself.  I also agree with Frey on the tuna.  Excellent source of Omega 3 and protein :)

by Tazsmit on May 30, 2012 at 11:40 am

So far 805 calories in.  I take a 1200mg fish supplement because I only eat scallops, cod, or hallibut that we order special once in a while (some is on its way next month) - I am just to picky of eater.  Yes, I have tried, even albacore but just could not get it down.  Lee even added sugar!  Still horrible.  I like non-fishy fish.  Yes, I love lobster but too pricey.

by freyja5683 on May 30, 2012 at 12:32 pm

Taz, I get scallops all the time at Hannaford. I get a lb and of course I split it up cause I am the only one that eats them. But that is 4 servings for me and cost me about 9 bucks. I can even get them frozen if I want for about at dollar less. If you need bland, try them in a pan with olive oil or something to make them not stick. When they are done toss them in a bowl with a bit of lemon juice (or not) and about 3 tablespoons of honey. I even add a bit of pepper when cooking. It's delicious, bland and low in calories.

by Tazsmit on May 30, 2012 at 1:01 pm

Will remember that for when they get here.  Our friend works for a food distributor to high end restaurants here and that is where we get our fish.  For some reason taste better than the stores does.

by freyja5683 on May 30, 2012 at 1:09 pm

Wow now I wish that I had scallops, they would be perfect for my low calorie day. Instead I am having a turkey burger and I might even go over my calories and have corn on the cob, but I will work out either way.

by Tazsmit on May 30, 2012 at 1:19 pm

That sounds yummy!!!!  Especially the corn.  We have a few months until it it is ready.  We have an old couple that grows it and sells it on the side of the road.  Been seeing them for years.

by freyja5683 on May 30, 2012 at 1:32 pm

I think this weekend I am going to the farmers market if I can get there in time and see what they have. The grocery store has been selling it for a month or so no, so that is where I am getting it. It's been really good too, not normally how it is. I couldn't be happier I could eat corn on the cob every day of the week if someone would let me, but I know it's not the best thing to eat. Especially with butter or margarine and a bit of salt.

by Tazsmit on May 30, 2012 at 1:57 pm

I used the spray butter, if they still make it, now I enjoy it plain.

by snuglbunie on May 30, 2012 at 3:22 pm

They also have spray olive oil that I saw in a grocery store in US.  That would be great on corn.  Happy to see you girls are talking about food, but it is GOOD food, hee hee :)

Good morning girls:
I'm at home today.  I will be doing some elliptical and ST this morning, then I have my wax appointment.  The sun is shining so may relax this afternoon and take in some sun if it doesn't get too hot.  I walked over 7 miles yesterday, woohoo :)

Sounds like you got a good workout in this morning, now enjoy the rest of the day. Hoping Shannon is not busy tonight she was free the other day when we talked however I know that tomorrow is her brothers birthday and since his passing they let off balloons on the bridge. So she might have family plans that came up. I'm hoping not but I was too busy to ask last night.

by Tazsmit on May 30, 2012 at 6:43 am

Great job Sung!  I glad to see you did my walking too.   LOL  Enjoy your time in the sun.

Hope you get your pedicure tonight Frey.  I am still fixing my computer.    iTunes is my next big issue.  Fingers crossed.

by freyja5683 on May 30, 2012 at 7:16 am

Well so far Shannon is in, but she is on call for her parents as their car is in the shop. But it should work.... :)

by Tazsmit on May 30, 2012 at 8:53 am

Hope it works out for you!

by snuglbunie on May 30, 2012 at 9:35 am

Suggestions

posted by Tazsmit on 6:56 am

Okay, I am tired of being sick.  I cannot get rid of this stomach thing.  I am back to eating yogurt, Boost (going to buy some Ensure today), water and tea.  The last time I had this it took 2 months to get rid of!  Everytime I eat real food other than bland (Yes, the pizza) I get sick.  Any suggestions?  I want to get back to working out and and stop feeling like I am going to pass out becaus I cannot keep enough food in me.   yes, I am whinney today.  I have been eating my 6 ounces of yogurt for an hour and still have about 1/3 left to finish.  Will start my green tea when it cools a little.

by freyja5683 on May 29, 2012 at 7:36 am

Honestly I suggest bland food for a while longer. I suggest ginger ale or just ginger period (it helps lots) and crackers. I would not even bother with the yogurt. Tea is good too so keep drinking it, boost or ensure will help you get some nutrients. What about your V8 stuff can you stomach any of that? Bread...should help too. Maybe with peanut butter of some sort. Eat anything bland that you can and keep eating it. Don't worry about anything else now. Stay away from the grease (pizza) and stuff like that. I'll keep thinking but if you can try this for a bit.

by Tazsmit on May 29, 2012 at 7:45 am

I tried ginger ale and end up with a huge burping session.  Good thing I was home.  The V8 is very high in acids.  I may try adding the fusion to some water and see how that goes.  I just started back on my daily vitamins with the hope that I may regain some energy.  Lee made a stir fry last night, non spicy, low sodium,  very yummy.

Why no yogurt?  I tried a coffee one today (good, but bad idea) but the vanilla sits well.  I tried nutella this weekend, I can see why people get fat on it.  It was yummy and I am not a fan of peanut butter.  Plus we are not allowed to have any peanut products at work, there are people with allergies that go into anaphlyatic shock so they asked the entire company not to bring any to work.    I do have belVita here.  Something new my friend brought for me to try.

by freyja5683 on May 29, 2012 at 8:23 am

I was thinking that maybe the dairy in the yogurt wouldn't be much help. But if you can eat it and it's working keep it up. Damn gingerale, what if you took out all the carbonation by shaking it or something? Rice might be very good to keep eating it's bland and not too bad for you. I love nutella, but it is processed so I try not to buy it. Coffee is too acidic, the BelVita might be good to munch on as it should absorb the acid and you can try it. Let us know what you think...

by Tazsmit on May 29, 2012 at 8:26 am

Trying the belvita right now.  It is blueberry but not too bad.

by Tazsmit on May 29, 2012 at 8:28 am

They recommedn the B.R.A.T. diet for it.
The BRAT diet is a treatment historically prescribed for patients with gastrointestinal distress such as diarrhea, dyspepsia, and/or gastroenteritis. The BRAT diet consists of foods that are relatively bland and low in fiber. Low-fiber foods were recommended as it was thought that foods high in fiber cause gas and possibly worsen gastrointestinal upset.[1]
An acronym, BRAT is a mnemonic for bananas, rice, apple sauce and toast, the staples of the diet.[1] Extensions to the BRAT diet include BRATT (with tea), BRATTY (with tea and yogurt), and BRATCH (with chicken, often boiled).
In addition to dietary restrictions, medical professionals recommended that all patients, regardless of age, intake plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration, along with oral rehydration solutions to replace the depleted electrolytes[2] to avoid salt imbalance. Severe, untreated salt imbalance can result in "extreme weakness, confusion, coma, or death

by freyja5683 on May 29, 2012 at 9:07 am

That doesn't sound like much fun.....at all! However they might be right in eating bland foods, it normally helps even if we don't like it.

by Tazsmit on May 29, 2012 at 9:13 am

Bananas are out!  Smelling them gives me the heaves.  I do like rice, toast (carbs of course) tea and yogurt.  Ensure not on sale anywhere and cannot stand boost. YUCK!  Will have to find my coupon at home and get it.  If I see a gain this week will not be surprised.  Between the indigestion and having to drink gatorade (stayed off for three days ) I feel it in my hands and feet.  Everything feels bloated.  There is a light at the end of the tunnel.  I will make it through this and get moving more!!!!

by freyja5683 on May 29, 2012 at 10:54 am

Yes you will . I hope that you do not see a gain but like you I could understand why. Certainly would be nice if they could find a way for this not to happen to you each time you get the stomach bug.

Since you cannot treat it with antibiotics, we really don't have a choice.  Since my system is sensitive and apparently due to my mental illness, it makes it easier for me to get ill and it stays with me longer.  At least the last time I did not have acid reflux.  Now I do which makes this feel even worse.  We will pray that it goes away sooner rather than later and I will get back to my horribly bland diet. YUCK!!!

by freyja5683 on May 29, 2012 at 11:46 am

Sorry Taz, what about oatmeal? It's really good for you and filling it's bland too. If you get the quick oats you can even make it at work with hot water....just a thought and you can have it with you bland toast and butter or margarine or whatever you like.

by Tazsmit on May 29, 2012 at 11:56 am

I just read your note and realized that I have to have the most boring diet in the world!!! Oatmeal, gatorade, toast, water, tea....makes me glad and sad that I had pizza this weekend.  LOL  It is almost like I went on a bender!!!  LOL

by freyja5683 on May 29, 2012 at 1:00 pm

Sorry Taz, what about baked fish? Do you even like fish? They say you can have carrots and green beans and rice, simple pasta, broccoli. So maybe for dinner Lee could make you a stir fry (kind of with chicken, and cook the rice in a chicken broth)? I am trying to help ya think of things that are bland but when put together they can come out better than expected. What about adding some applesauce to some oatmeal in the morning, could you add cinnamon to it...or would that not be good for your belly?

by Tazsmit on May 29, 2012 at 1:16 pm

Stir fry is what lee made last night.  It was very bland.  Made with low sodium broth, white rice, green beans, water chestnuts, carrots, and ground chicken.  I just have to stay away from anything acidic (tomatoes) and spicy.  Let my poor tummy heal.  I just really hate being me sometimes.  this is one of them.

by freyja5683 on May 29, 2012 at 1:22 pm

I make my stir fry with a teriyaki marinade, but then again all I eat out of it is the rice and chicken LOL. I make the boys with all the veggies. Yes more acid is bad for you, I hope that eating bland foods allows you to get better soon. Stick with it for a few days, hopefully you will get back to normal soon. I am thinking of you!

by Tazsmit on May 29, 2012 at 1:42 pm

Thanks sweetie.  I will "talk" with you tomorrow.  Work is lending me a keyboard to take home and try on my computer.  Pray that is all it is and I do not have to replace my computer.

Night!

Note of interest

posted by snuglbunie on 5:16 am

Hi girls:
As a note of interest, even though the scale number has gone up in the last month, my measurements have not gone up at all except for 1/4 inch on my thigh.  So I am definitely building muscle and redistributing my fat which is awesome :)  I will keep doing what I am doing, hee hee.

by Tazsmit on May 29, 2012 at 5:49 am

See.  STOP OBESSING WITH THE SCALE!!! I mean this in the most loving way.  Muscle weights the sames as fat except it is leaner.  So while the number may not change your body is!

Great job on the size 4 shorts.

by freyja5683 on May 29, 2012 at 6:19 am

I am finally glad that you have come to this revelation :) I am proof that you can do all things right and not see the scale move and inch remember all the posts I made on weigh in days where I stayed the same but I have seen the other changes over the last few months.

by Tazsmit on May 29, 2012 at 6:30 am

Yes, and you are doing great frey!  Hope you had a great weekend.

Good morning everyone:

Well, yesterday was a day of revelations.  My sister and my husband have been telling me that I am obsessing over the scale and they can't understand why.  I feel good, I look good, my clothes fit good.  I put on my pair of size 4 shorts yesterday which I had bought in March or April and I was scared because the scale had gone up in the last month.  Well, low and behold, the shorts fit perfectly with still some breathing room and I felt great.  So why do I obsess over the number on the scale and focus so much on how much I am eating?  I know that I am doing everything right and my body shows it.  I think I finally understand about the muscle and fat issue which my sister really tried to explain yesterday so that I can relate.

As for my eating yesterday, well it was a bust, LOL.  We had my sister, brother-in-law and his mother over for a late lunch.  That was good except now my supper was not so good.  I ate over 2000 calories, didn't exercise at all yesterday and didn't get very many steps and not all my flights of stairs either.  So definitely a bust, but that's okay.  I'm allowed to take a day off and enjoy :)

This morning I am at home and I'm going to go do some elliptical and my weights after breakfast.  Back to my usual routine.  I am working from the office on Tuesday and Thursday this week, so will definitely get good steps in those days :)

Hope everyone has a great day and a great week!

Everyone needs time off once in a while. We have to be able to recharge and it is these days that we sometimes have the best revelations of all.

Perimenopause Is not fun.

posted by Tazsmit on 5:57 am

As promised, here you go.  I have had this for too many years.

The symptoms of perimenopause often begin years before a woman's period actually ceases. Menopause isn't a process that happens overnight; rather over a period of a few years a woman's health and body goes through many different changes both physically and emotionally.

During perimenopause a woman might experience many of the same symptoms they would associate with menopause, including:

Headaches - yest
Night sweats - just started this year
Hot flashes - over 2 years
Weight gain - my whole life!!!!
Insomnia - nothing new
Heart palpitations - Nope!
Fatigue - nothing new
Urinary problems - Yes   leaks
Vaginal dryness - no
Bone loss - So far they are all still there!  LOL
Depression and Anxiety - again, nothing new

by snuglbunie on May 25, 2012 at 8:05 am

Thank you :)  I have just not had my periods for 2 months, hot flashes are definitely starting and worried about the weight gain :)

by Tazsmit on May 25, 2012 at 8:21 am

I have been in this for about 4 years.  While my loss is slow, you can still lose and maintain your weight.  If starts to creep up because your metabolism changes.  I am sure you will do fine.  If you do not have a period for a year then you are in menopause.

by snuglbunie on May 25, 2012 at 9:00 am

OMG, 4 years.  It takes that long to get rid of them completely??????

by Tazsmit on May 25, 2012 at 9:07 am

It varies for every woman.  My mother went right into menopause as did my friend.  I on the other hand am never lucky.  I started this right before my 40th b-day and this year I will be 45.  Here this will just make your day......NOT!!!

Perimenopause, or menopause transition, is the stage of a woman's reproductive life that begins several years before menopause, when the ovaries gradually begin to produce less estrogen. It usually starts in a woman's 40s, but can start in a woman's 30s or even earlier as well.

I hope you are a lucky one.  Night sweats are horrible and they only come when I get my period.   First time it happened thought I had the flu. LOL

by snuglbunie on May 25, 2012 at 9:20 am

I've had some night sweats the week before my period, but haven't had any for the last two months really.  I have had hot flashes though that are just plain annoying, LOL

Friday, Woohoo

Good morning girls:
I am working from home today.  Going out for breakfast with a friend, then going to buy my passports again, grrrrrrr.  Then I will be doing my ST when I get home.  I'm so grateful to Taz for taking the time to figure things out with me and being my partner in this upping of calories.  I've put away the scale in another room and plan on getting on it only on Thursday mornings.  I will probably have withdrawals though, heehee.
Hope everyone has a great Friday.  What are your plans for the weekend?

by Tazsmit on May 25, 2012 at 5:51 am

Sounds like a wonderful day!  I am going to work at...work!  LOL

You are very welcome for the help.  My hubby just stared at me and asked what I was doing last night on the computer for so long.  I started to explain and he was like that is great and went back to reading.  This morning I got my armband reset to 1855, that took 20 minuts so close enough to 1880 which means I need to burn 2105 calories per day.

by freyja5683 on May 25, 2012 at 6:09 am

WooHoo, sounds like we are all doing some good things :) I just moved the notch on my belt this morning  (IN) so that is another win for me. For now it is comfortable but it may not be as the day goes on, you know after sitting most of the day but I am giving it a try. I was in between for a few weeks now but I think that I have officially moved in LOL.
Plans for the weekend go get Rob tonight after work (long drive 2 plus hrs total) then coming home and working out even if only for a few short minutes. Then tomorrow cook out at Mom and Dad's Rob and Al are a definite and Jay maybe going with Lexi, Tim may have other plans. Then Sunday I think that the boys are planning on going to the island but I am not sure yet. Monday hopefully a day of working out, cleaning and rest. One of those days I have to take Rob back home too.

by Tazsmit on May 25, 2012 at 6:20 am

Congrats Frey!!!!  You are doing so great on the zig zag

WOW sounds like a busy but fun weekend for you.  I am going (hopefully) out with bff Elsa and mom  for our usual Saturday breakfast and shopping.  My list is huge and these are only necessities.  Hope to do my hair tomorrow afternoon.  The rest of the weekend is cleaning, races, and washing stinkie (Stash), he reeks!!!  Then I will rest and relax.  Going to be 90 and humid Sunday so they are cancelling the annual run here for fear of too many people getting sick.  I will stay inside and take my treadmill for a walk.  Also hope to get my yoga tape to dvd and back soon.  oops!  Time to work.

by freyja5683 on May 25, 2012 at 6:32 am

Tomorrow will be close to 90 they did not say anything about humid so I am not sure. Hopefully my mothers has some shade tents up on Saturday for the cookout. Sunday is supposed to be cloudy but warm and maybe rain. I haven't heard anything for Monday yet.
Sounds like you have a busy weekend too, I think that Zeus needs a bath soon too. This weekend will be a good one to get that done. I haven't really figured out my workouts yet with everything else going on so maybe I will make time tonight to figure that all out.

by Tazsmit on May 25, 2012 at 7:46 am

The funny part is that by Thursday it will be 68!  Welcome to Wisconsin where the weather changes every other minute.  Last night was wind gust around 45-50.  A bunch of trees were blown over and people lost power.

by snuglbunie on May 25, 2012 at 8:07 am

WOOHOO Frey, you are doing great :)

by freyja5683 on May 25, 2012 at 8:14 am

I have been in between the belt holes since I bought the belt and two weeks ago I had tried this and it was a bit too tight for my comfort but today it is still going well so far. So YES I am excited. Wanted to walk longer last night but I hadn't got home until well after 6 and I still had to get things ready for dinner and get ready to walk by the time that I started it was already 7. :(

MFP down right now.

posted by freyja5683 on 6:03 am

Weigh in day was nice to me. Went from 157.8 to 156.4 . Beginning to think that the zig zag works well for me, but I think the BMR can and will too. Still going to be working with the BMR starting today and see where that takes me for next week. If I start to see any gain again I will go back to the zig zag method as it worked pretty well for me. I guess we all just need to figure out what works for our bodies and stick with that. But then again as we all know that is the hard part.
I see that Snug had a bit of a gain on MFP per her e-mail :( but she may just need to eat more, I think if she tries the BMR she might find that works well for her. I hope so!
Taz, hope you are feeling even better today and good luck with the BMR method too I bet this will work for you too as I believe there is no way that you are eating enough good food.

by Tazsmit on May 24, 2012 at 6:31 am

Good Morning!  Congrats on your loss!!!  Great job.  Snug is disappointed because of the gain.  I did let her know that at first you may gain because you are changing your metabolism.  I did gain too - up 1.2 but not really sure about the loss last week because I did not weigh in at the same time and I had not really ate since Tuesday.  The scale ever since that loss has been at 204.8.  I mean every single day!  So I am actually going to look at this as a loss of .2 (now 204.6) because the darn thing did not move from 204.8 until today!  I even moved around my apartment to see if it would change and held a new container of cat litter to see if it moved, well it did gain the amount of the litter but then when I stepped on it, 204.8!

If you have found something that works, then I would not change it.  I just could not keep up with zig zag every day was different and then getting sick, well you know the rest.   So I am going to stick with eating around 1700 since I burn over 2000 on average and my goal is to loose .5 per week.  I will use my armband to make sure that on days I don't get enough activity, I am eating at least my bmr and my usual burn is just over 1800 when I am home sick and only get in about 500 steps total.

Bored yet?  LOL

by Tazsmit on May 24, 2012 at 6:50 am

This site is funky too.  Do you see the funny A?

by freyja5683 on May 24, 2012 at 7:08 am

You know what maybe you are right. HHHHMMM I guess that maybe me staying with the zig zag is a good thing for a while as I have seen losses. I think that I will. Gosh sometimes I really do over think things.
Its settled I'm going to keep at it. Zig Zagging my way! LOL
Guess I should have got a bit more sleep today I am at bit weird which usually only comes from not sleeping well at night. I was in bed for 8 hours you would think that this wouldn't have happened.

by freyja5683 on May 24, 2012 at 7:17 am

I saw something weird in yesterdays posts when I checked in last night. But I do not see a funny A.
Thank you for your kind words and for putting my head back on straight.

by Tazsmit on May 24, 2012 at 7:17 am

You zig zag away!!!!  That is why we are here, to help each other NOT over think.  LOL

I did not sleep well either.  I feel over in the bathroom this morning because I am so weak and dizzy.  No I did not drive, Lee did.  After the fall, I had him get up and bring me to work.  20 spreadsheets to finish plus 10 more need to be created.  They are for commissions and take forever!  I only got two done yesterday in 2 hours.

by freyja5683 on May 24, 2012 at 7:19 am

Now I am seeing funny A's and other things.

by Tazsmit on May 24, 2012 at 7:24 am

Thank heavens!!! Thought I was seeing things now too!!! LOL

by freyja5683 on May 24, 2012 at 7:28 am

No you are not seeing things, this is actually happening. LOL

by freyja5683 on May 24, 2012 at 8:53 am

You guessed correctly.  We just have to subtract the capital A and everything should make sense.

For Frey

posted by Tazsmit on 12:48 pm

Okay, forget scooby.  Read the last post about the person under neath the blog.  Please let me know if you have more questions.  I recommend eating no less than your resting BMR in calories per day.  Mine is 1636 but I know that I burn around 2200 per day so I am aiming for 1720 net.

by freyja5683 on May 23, 2012 at 1:14 pm

Thank you I read that :)
So I think that I have this all figured out. Eat no less than 1450 calories a day (this is good) then exercise and depending on what I am doing that day, make sure that my net is right around 1450. I got this! Besides if this doesn't work I will go back to zig zagging (but I do not think it will be an issue).
Thanks Taz, I appreciate your help. Think that I will try this starting tomorrow.

by Tazsmit on May 23, 2012 at 1:24 pm

Here is the best response I have had.  This person used to weight 245 and is in onderland and a size 10/12!  She has been doing the BMR eating.  I posted it lower but here it is quicker.

BMR - this is the minimum your body needs to just function. This is the number that you are aiming for as your net calories.

For example mine is 1596 (I had the new leaf metabolic test done) this is the amount of calories my body burns just to exist - even if I laid in bed all day. Now when you add your lifestyle - let’s say sedentary for me it put me near 2200 calories to.

Now if I want to lose weight.. I could eat between 1600 and 1900 calories and have a deficit of 300 calories daily. This is without exercise.

If I add exercise - I want to eat those calories back... This is the idea. Because no matter what - I don't want to go below a net of 1596 - because that is what I need just to exist as I am...

If I were to go below that for too long.. my body will metabolize itself and I could end up losing muscle and slowing down my metabolic rate.

At least this is my understanding. I hope this helps

by freyja5683 on May 23, 2012 at 1:32 pm

See this makes perfect sense to me. I am going to try this starting tomorrow. Thank you, so on my fitness pal I never want my totals # to be less than 1450.
Starting tomorrow :) lets see what this does to my body. Beachbody talks about muscle confusion I say calorie confusion no more!

by Tazsmit on May 23, 2012 at 1:39 pm

I want to get away from calorie confusion too.  I am already confused in enough areas and do not need any more. LOL

While I like MFP, I really love being able to have our private group here.  I realized today (see slow today) that when you become friends with someon on MFP, you are able to see their friends posts to them.  I don't know if they can see ours or not and I really like my privacy.

Here is to our new journey of eating our BMR!!!!  Okay, Starbucks tomorrow, found someone who will do something for me in exchange for Starbucks so I am joining in.

by snuglbunie on May 23, 2012 at 3:36 pm

LOL, caught up on the posts and it just gets confusing.  I'll try the number you gave me for a month and go from there :)
I agree, i love this site for our talks :)

by Tazsmit on May 23, 2012 at 4:30 pm

I looked at MFP and you did great today.  Keep it up and so will we.

by snuglbunie on May 23, 2012 at 4:50 pm

Thanks.  It's not as scary when I know I have to eat the calories I burn really :)

Sunny Again

posted by snuglbunie on 7:02 am

Good morning all:

Another beautiful sunny day here.  I'm still at home today as my interview is tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m.  I'm anxious cause I really want this one.  Today will be Zumba this morning, then laundry and sunshine for the rest of the day.
I'm obsessing here about scale numbers and eating calories and menopause, grrrrrrr.  I keep on gaining even though I'm doing a lot of exercise I feel.  May be still eating too little, but I don't want to overeat either :(  I know my clothes are fitting better so I shouldn't worry, but I do.  I'm scared to put the weight back on, so when I see the scale going it up it freaks me out even though I'm healthy and look good.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

by Tazsmit on May 23, 2012 at 7:27 am

Good luck with the interview.  where is this one at?  Using the Wii Zumba?  Please do Pause for me.  I love that one.

When you have a moment, would you do me a favor, use the following website http://thefitgirls.com/tdee-calculator.aspx, and let me know what your BMR and TDEE are?  Before I got sick, I started eating just over 1700 calories a day and felt more energetic and was seeing the scale move.  This week will not be good because of the liquid life style.  For example my BMR is 1636 and my TDEE at sedentary is 1963.  To lose weight it says I need to eat 1638.  However, if I exercise I do need to eat those calories back.  This is a curiousity thing for me.

As for you, your clothes are fitting better so you are firming up those muscles.  The scale is just a number.  If you are close to your goal and maintaining then you are doing great!!!  No need to change anything unless you are completely unhappy.  Leave the closet monster alone and start using your body meauresments.

by freyja5683 on May 23, 2012 at 7:29 am

The scale is just a # it does not define you! It does not tell you all the hard work you are putting in and if you are not losing I would say maybe you need to eat a bit more for a week and then see where you are. But do not obsess over that scale judge by what you clothes are saying to you and how you feel.

by snuglbunie on May 23, 2012 at 7:34 am

Okay so my numbers say:
BMR - 1319
TDEE - 1583
To loose 4 lbs. in 2 months it is telling me to eat 1353
Yep, I know the scale is just a number, but why do I hate it so much when I see it go up, grrrr.

by Tazsmit on May 23, 2012 at 7:52 am

Try eating at least the 1319 and aim for 1353.

Yes, we are all obsessed by the closet monster because that is how our minds have been trained for so many years.  Plus that is all you hear about on tv is how to make that number go down and how much people have lost.  You never hear about the health benefits they have gotten (except on the biggest loser) or how much better their clothes fit.  I really don't trust those before and after pictures.  Just like Frey said, IT IS JUST A NUMBER!!!! You have (sorry to use this word) gained so much more than just aiming for a certain number on the monster.  You have lost inches, your health has improved and continues to do so everytime you move.  You are adding years to your life.  Which in the end is more important, your health or that number on the closet monster?  As you tell me, do not let the monster rule your life!

It is not who I am that defines me but what I do.

by snuglbunie on May 23, 2012 at 7:58 am

Thank you so much Taz for everything.  I will try, I promise.  Now, the 1353 is I gather if I burn like 200 calories in exercise, I would eat 1553 to make sure I get my 1353 right?  I'm going for a bike ride shortly.  I was going to go do Zumba, but too beautiful outside not to go biking :)

by Tazsmit on May 23, 2012 at 8:31 am

Did you calculate it using an activity level?  If so then do not eat your calories back and aim for the goal they told you.  If you used sedentary, eat your calories back.  Bug set hers and used light activity so she will not eat her calories back.  Today is her first day so will watch her diary in MFP to see how she tracks.  She talked to the woman who posted it and said that it looked like she got it figured out.  Whatever you do, not eat below the 1319!  These are the calories your body needs.  Try it for a month like Kim.  When I stick to it, it works for me.  It is a matter of tweaking the numbers to get to where you need.  Luckily my BodyMedia averages my TDEE for me so I use that number which happens to be really close to the calculations.

Go enjoy your bike ride!!! I will keep working on my spreadsheets.

by snuglbunie on May 23, 2012 at 9:12 am

Okay, I will eat 1319 and yep, I had done sedentary, so I will make sure I net 1319 on MFP.  I just came back from my bike ride.  Did 7.4 miles in 1/2 hour :)

by Tazsmit on May 23, 2012 at 9:17 am

WOW!!!  You were really booking it.  Yes, do not go below 1319 and eat back your exercise calories.  Does your fitbit tell you total calories burned for the day?

by freyja5683 on May 23, 2012 at 10:18 am

Maybe I will give this a try next month as  not much has happened doing the zig zag it seems.

by snuglbunie on May 23, 2012 at 11:00 am

Yes and even now my fitbit is telling me to eat 246 more calories even though I've written in all the food I plan on eating today :(

by Tazsmit on May 23, 2012 at 11:09 am

I could not stay with the zig zag.  It drove me nuts!!!  When I lost the weight I was following the eat more, BMR thing so I feel that it does work and is worth the effort.  There is another site to use to if you want to look at it frey.  It is frogfitness....forgot the rest.

I don't know how you set up your fitbit but the total calories burned at the end of the day is your TDEE for that day.  So if it says you burned 2000 calories and you consumed 1200, that is a deficit of 800 which you think you lose weight on.  However when I initially set up my arm band, it had me at around 1900 calories a day and I thought it was nuts so I changed it to 1500.  Since I have had this, I have gained 10 lbs and been maintaing for months.  That is why I am willing to start eating my BMR and I watch my calories burned through the day at least 250 deficit which is .5lbs per week.  PS when I hit onderland for that one day, I was eating more and still burning average of 2200 calories per day.

by freyja5683 on May 23, 2012 at 12:09 pm

Okay explain to me this...
per that site my BMR is 1450 my TDEE is 1739
I want to lose 1 lb per week so that tells me I need a deficit of 500 calories and total calories per day is 1239.
I did this on sedentary...so I need to eat no less than 1450 calories per day and I need to then burn off at least 250 with exercise to get to around 1239 is that correct??
HELP ME

by Tazsmit on May 23, 2012 at 12:33 pm

I should never net below my bmr
1.Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) quantifies the number of calories your body burns in its idle statesuch as sleeping.

I should not splurge over my tdee...
2.TDEE - Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) quantifies the number of calories you burn in a day. This measure is best estimated by scaling your Basal Metabolic Rate to your level of activity. TDEE is critical in tailoring your nutrition plan to desired fitness goals.

If TDEE is figured out correctly, then exercise cals don't *have* to be eaten back because, technically, TDEE figures them in. The underlying factor here, is that most people underestimate their activity levels, (for fear of being told to eat "too much") and then proceed to under eat. If a person is burning 1000 cals/day in exercise, then that should be figured into their TDEE, meaning their TDEE should be AT LEAST 1000 cals more than their BMR. If this is not the case then they are undercutting themselves on the cals. So a person w/a BMR of 1300, that puts up 1000 cal burns should have come up w/a TDEE calculation of 2400 or more. So any situation where a person is not getting those calculations, they should be eating back some of those exercise cals.

So if you come up w/BMR=1300, TDEE=1800, you need to either A)eat back some cals, or B) recalculate your TDEE to include the *actual* burns that you're getting.

So to cut using *true* TDEE figures, you'd just eat a flat TDEE (-15%), as long as TDEE is correct. It should be fine. But if you are using MFP's calculations, or are not getting a TDEE that includes the amount you burn each day *plus* BMR, you need to eat back some exercise cals

Use the 20% loss rate.

by Tazsmit on May 23, 2012 at 12:43 pm

I did ask a question about it and one person said this

For me, after playing around with calories going in for a while now, i finally figured out that no matter how much I excercise which is 6-7 days a week, as long as i have a net calorie at the end of the day at close to 1400 (with my BMR being 1481) I have been losing weight steadily.

I usually have 1 day a week when i go over 1400 a little bit, but that doesn't damage me too much. so i would try and net close to your BMR after excercise is done. hope this is helpful!

by Tazsmit on May 23, 2012 at 12:44 pm

The one above was the best advice.

I was a bad girl.  I copied April's notes for tracking poings on MFP and am using them.    Surprisingly I am getting (you will love this) base on my arm band, sleeping just over 7 hours now.  Great improvement from 0 - 3.

Hey Estelle, how did you know Lee made the Phillys even though I used Arby's because I was using my ipod to track and it was easier.  Lee's was healthier and tasted better.

by freyja5683 on May 23, 2012 at 7:00 am

I love tracking the points there it makes it so easy as I use the site for everything else. Makes finding everything I need so much easier and it is visible for all to see too. I love it, use away.
Estelle must know this as yesterday (below) you said Lee took out beef for dinner :) Hope that you are feeling better today.

by snuglbunie on May 23, 2012 at 7:00 am

Yep, that's what I commented on and I do the same thing when my hubby makes those :)  They are delicious.  WOOHOO for the good amount of sleep.  You are on the mend I think :)

by Tazsmit on May 23, 2012 at 7:17 am

Yesterday was better than today.  I can barely keep my eyes open and my tummy is cramping again.  I should just take the rest of the week of.  I have 11 days of vacation to use.

I should create the receipe but too lazy.  LOL

by snuglbunie on May 23, 2012 at 7:35 am

Yes, you should take the rest of the week off and get yourself better.

by freyja5683 on May 23, 2012 at 9:03 am

I agree with Snug, go home and take care of you.

Proof of Starvation

posted by Tazsmit on 8:42 am

I just found a report I can run with my body media.  My average calorie burn per day is 2225 calories while my food is only 1286.  I really need to eat more.  This was an eye opener for me.  I do really great on some days but most of the time I don't eat or eat enough.  May start keeping ensure around for those days when not really hungry but need nutrition.  The new yogurt (Dannon All Natural is really good however it is high in sugar but not much higher than the greek yogurt plus cheaper and high in protein.

by snuglbunie on May 22, 2012 at 9:04 am

I'm so happy you found that report.  I truly believe it is because you are not eating enough that you are not loosing cause you are doing everything else right :)  Keep on experimenting.

by snuglbunie on May 22, 2012 at 9:07 am

Guess what I am eating right now:
2 cups of organic baby spinach
Salad dressing
2 string cheese
1 hard boiled egg
1 fruit cup
I'm doing better today :)

by snuglbunie on May 22, 2012 at 9:09 am

Ohhh and 2 cups of homemade green iced tea :)  I just finished my ST so need protein.

by Tazsmit on May 22, 2012 at 9:14 am

I have had
Ensure
6 glasses of water
16 oz jasmine green tea (almost finished - Teavana)
Omega 3 supplements
one piece of reduced sodium string cheese.

There are horrible noises coming from my closed mouth (leaves a bad taste too) and my tummy is making noises.  But I need to give it something.  My try to add a little V8 fusion to my water later.

by snuglbunie on May 22, 2012 at 9:22 am

I bought some V8 Fusion this weekend as I had $1.00 coupon.  Haven't tried it yet, but will later on today :)

by Tazsmit on May 22, 2012 at 9:25 am

Which one?  I drink the blueberry pomegrante.  Lee tried it and liked it too.  He is eating and drinking my food so it does not go bad while I work on getting better.

by snuglbunie on May 22, 2012 at 9:32 am

V8 Fusion Smoothie, strawberry banana.  Lots of calories in it, but if I am hungry, then that will do it.  Sugars and carbs are high though.  Not something I would eat always.  My net right now on MFP is 809, so I guess I have to get more calories in before I go to bed :(  I've already inputted my dinner too.

by Tazsmit on May 22, 2012 at 9:36 am

I have 1430 left to go.

by Tazsmit on May 22, 2012 at 9:38 am

Mine has 100 calories and a lot of sugar but none of it is added sugar.  It all comes from the fruits themselves.

by snuglbunie on May 22, 2012 at 9:43 am

I hope mine is natural sugar too.  It looks like it from the ingredients.  Gotta go clean my kitchen now :(

by freyja5683 on May 22, 2012 at 9:47 am

Wow Taz, yeah I can see where you aren't getting enough food. Gosh!  LOL
I haven't figured out dinner yet today, something with Chicken that is all I know. Either shake n bake or stir fry, I am leaning towards stir fry but that depends on when I get home tonight too. I wish I could just take a nap right now I have no energy at all.

by Tazsmit on May 22, 2012 at 9:57 am

Lee always makes dinner.  it is beef of some type.  It was still frozen solid this morning so will have to be surprised tonight.  He did ask if mexican would be okay.    NOOOOOO!!!!

by snuglbunie on May 22, 2012 at 10:26 am

We are having BBQ chicken breast, baked potato and cauliflower :)  Well, I think I am going to read and nap for a while.  Talk to you girls tomorrow :)  ((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))

New Day

posted by snuglbunie on 5:14 am

Good morning everyone:

Yesterday was definitely not a good eating day. I just couldn't seem to be not hungry and ate everything under the sun:( Not sure what was going on. My head was spinning on a lot of matters, so could have been emotionally eating for all I know.

Today is a new day with a new attitude. I am going to have my breakfast shortly and then head in my cool basement to get my elliptical and ST in this morning. I do want to mow the lawn if we can get our shed open. My husband has lost the keys somewhere, so have to cut the lock :(
I'm not expecting a loss again this week, but as long as I maintain I will be good.
Have a great day!

by Tazsmit on May 22, 2012 at 5:41 am

Morning.  Sounds like emotional eating to me.  I should know.

Glad you have a new attitude and ready to conquer the day!!  Congrats on the fitbit badge and sorry you have to cut the lock.  I have a feeling that this week will be a gain but I can live with it.  How come I get sick and gain?  Oh yeah all that sodium in the liquid diet  plus I think my body is thinking it is starving too.  Oh well.

by snuglbunie on May 22, 2012 at 6:52 am

Yep, definitely the sodium will do it.  If there was a way you could drink something else but Gatorade as it is FULL of sodium and really not good for you at all :(
My husband found the keys in his parka coat pocket because he had to where that in the morning as it was chilly and his other coat was in the RV :)  Not sure if I will have time to do it before the rain comes though :(

by Tazsmit on May 22, 2012 at 6:56 am

Congrats on finding the keys!!!  I was thinking that you would find them right after you cut the lock, that is usually how it goes.  Good luck on getting the lawn done.  Is it a rider or push mower?  Just thinking more exercise!  LOL

I looked and my sodium was not that bad but I ate under 1400 calories and I am trying for 1720!  I mix the gatorade with water so it last longer, only drink one bottle per day (20oz total), and get in my water.

by snuglbunie on May 22, 2012 at 7:03 am

Good idea about mixing it with water.  Didn't have to cut the lock as they were found before that, hee hee :)  It's a push gas powered mower, so exercise for sure :)

by Tazsmit on May 22, 2012 at 7:04 am

Before my allergies got so bad I used to mow my parents lawn for exercise.  It took almost 2 hours and was done by push mower.  Now they live in a condo so no outside care required.

by snuglbunie on May 22, 2012 at 7:10 am

WOW, 2 hours....mine is not that big.  About 1/2 hour I figure.  Going to do it now.  Talk to you later :)

by freyja5683 on May 22, 2012 at 7:24 am

Glad I don't have to mow any yard or anything. I have been eating pretty well too and drinking plenty of water. However I still am not having an easy time finding replacement knobs for my stove.

by Tazsmit on May 22, 2012 at 7:35 am

How are you looking for them?  We used the internet and local repair shops and handymen.

How did the test for bodyrock go last night?

by snuglbunie on May 22, 2012 at 7:45 am

What happened to the knobs of the stove?  I am sweating bullers here :(

by freyja5683 on May 22, 2012 at 8:17 am

The knobs of the stove got thrown out by a mad woman over the weekend. They were disgusting and the stupid thermostat know is still there but the # part is now gone. I found them online I think they are pretty universal but I am not sure about the thermostat one I may have to do more searching or check the appliance store by my house after work. But I also need to do some groceries so things are limited for me today.
As for the test I didn't really see much improvement at all. Guess we will see again in another couple of weeks. I felt better doing them but there was still not much difference at all. Keep pushing foward though.... I am feeling better doing most of it though.

by Tazsmit on May 22, 2012 at 8:22 am

The most important thing is you are feeling better!!  Keep going and the results will follow!  Go Frey Go Frey!!!  doing a little cheerleading for you.

Are you the mad woman who tossed the knobs?  I need to get to the store too.  I want more of that yogurt!!! It was high in sugar but soooo YUMMY!!!!

by snuglbunie on May 22, 2012 at 8:30 am

LOL, wonder if it would have been better to soak them in a sink full of javex and dish soap then  throwing them out, hee hee.
I'm cheerleading with Taz.  Definitely give it time and you will see an improvement.

by freyja5683 on May 22, 2012 at 8:48 am

No it wouldn't have been easier Snug, and yes I am the mad woman. They were disgusting and had all kinds of goo all over them I tried cleaning them with Bar Keepers friend but the attempt was futile. So I threw them out, Tim said I could get new knobs at Walmart or home depot. I checked Walmart and they didn't have them and I checked on line at home depot and they didn't seem to have them either, so I did a search and found some that should be universal. They have different adapters just in case :) Now I just need to find the dial for the oven as the one I got had 5 knobs but I am not sure this was one of them. I still have the knob for the oven just not the #'s on it .
Oh well! I am gettng better but I think that I just didn't feel like exercising last night after walking the dog and all but I changed and did it anyway.

by Tazsmit on May 22, 2012 at 9:02 am

Okay mad woman, I wish you luck.  FYI - you already probably figured this out, don't toss until replacements have arrived!   Also why did you listen to Tim?  You must have been REALLY frustrated with those things. LMAO!!!!  Sorry but it does make me laugh and smile.

by snuglbunie on May 22, 2012 at 9:06 am

Makes me laugh too and it would probably be something I would do too

by Tazsmit on May 22, 2012 at 9:16 am

Me too.  Okay I have done similar things.

by freyja5683 on May 22, 2012 at 9:43 am

Well I knew that even if Walmart didn't have them that I should be able to get them from Home Depot but I didn't have any luck on line at all. So I did find a place and I just did a live chat with a woman from the place she said that based on what she could see my kit was complete and had the four burner knobs and the thermostat know. I really hope so that way I don't have to do any more searching. Lesson learned! GET KNOBS FIRST NEXT TIME!

by Tazsmit on May 22, 2012 at 9:59 am

And do not listen to Tim!!!! LOL

Seriously, glad you found the knobs and hope you get them soon.

by freyja5683 on May 22, 2012 at 11:01 am

I am having them shipped overnight so they should be here tomorrow, when I spoke to the live chat person she had advised me they were already in the warehouse getting ready for shipment. So fingers crossed it has all the pcs that I need, so that I can be done with is. My stove is very old and has the gas heater on one side. They no longer make the stove I have so I had to hunt down universal parts and hope they work.
Listening to Tim is usually a good thing, but I have now learned to look into it if he does not sound 100% sure of himself. Poor Tim got dumped either Sunday night or early yesterday morning. I feel bad for him, but he seems to be taking it better than I thought he would.
