Ok I got my test results of my A1C it was 9.9 , I know thats not very good... I am aiming to drop that by my next visit and am aware that the goal number to reach is 6. I inquired about the Amaryl.. it is a sulfa drug but slightly different than in the antibiotic Bactrim. So I am taking a chance and going to use it. In one dose my sugar dropped 100 pts and I have never had morning waking sugars below 250 this morning it was 150... I hope I can take this drug it really is amazing how good I feel and I didnt even realize I had not felt good... till I took it of course wow what a difference in my energy level... I feel so strange in a good way... wow. Ok thats it...have a good day everyone ..Laura

Laura, I took Amaryl for quite awhile, and it did control my blood sugar but I gained weight on it. Maybe you will do better on it since you are already getting better results. Keep us posted on your progress.

Wow...250! Glad you found something to help...it looks like only some people have the weight gain side-effect...hopefully, you won't experience it. Good luck! Let us know how it's working for you, Laura!

well yesterday my sugar was 150-179-112 , today so far its 150-109-116 and I feel alot better, I hope the weight gain wont hit me , I am trying to stick to the calories TDP says I should eat am having a hard time reaching all of them I seem to naturally just eat and come in about 200 calories under but thats ok I am full and dont feel hungry without those extra calories. I did lose 5 lbs since starting on April 21st so thats a start. Hope everyone has a good day.. hugs to all...Laura
