We are committed to exercising and sometimes it helps when you are responsible for telling others what exercise you did each day. This group is for those who wish commit to exercising everyday. Your computer won't blow up and all you'll get is encouragement if you don't meet your goal on any given day.

Heya I got oriential americian and butterfly leg stretches in with my my grandkids today.
You know there is one of them that I think it might really stay with, esp. when I get my
group back off the ground.
Peace follow your sword's guys. We will always be together if we stay focused on the goals
truly sat before us.
Luv YAll
I've been MIA from posting since Friday (oops!) but I've been reading the posts and it
looks like everyone is kicking butt and taking names! Awesome job! During my group posting
hiatus I have been exercising... let's start right before the long weekend...
Friday: Stationary bike at the gym... 1 hour ~825 cals (how accurate are those machines?
anyone?)
Saturday, Sunday and Monday: We're building a retaining wall/garden in our backyard...
basically I spent the weekend hauling 68 lb manor stones, shoveling topsoil and compost,
mowing the lawn, shoveling rock, shoveling gravel and hauling more stones. The good thing
is that we're about 50% done. The bad thing is that we're only 50% done. ::sigh:: So much
for a weekend project... Anyway... i'm not sure how many calories I burned during all that
but it was fairly grueling at times.Â
Tuesday: Skipped boot camp due to bad weather... but did a 60 minute, high resistance ride
on the stationary bike. Goodbye 925 calories! I also shoveled some more dirt...
(sigh..)
Today: 60 minutes on the elliptical (-834 calories) and took the dog for a 2 mile stroll
around the neighborhood.Â
Â
Keep up the good work everyone!
I didn't work out Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday. And I had a research paper due. And
on top of that on Sunday I pigged out!! Goodness! Talk about falling off my path! Â After all that IÂ gained 1 pound. I know it could have been worse. So....I got
back into the gym on Tuesday with a 2.5 mile run, 1 mile hills at 5% grade. 23:36.
Last night I did a 3.4 mile run, IÂ started slow and decided around mile 2Â that IÂ would
change my goal of a 3 mile run to a 3.25 mile run, then IÂ ended up at 3.4 somehow! It was
nice to get that accomplishment though. 28:17.
This site (and this forum) really keep me going even after a rough couple of days. Keep
up the fantastic work everybody!!
I hear you! It was hard being consistant with exercising during graduate school since my schedule changed so much. Getting back on track can be pretty hard for me but it looks like you're up and at'em again. Great job!
I found that finals and papers were MURDER On my healthy eating and exercising. I'm impressed that you got back on the wagon so fast. Even now, I find computer time and deadlines to be the worst when it comes to fitting in workouts.
rdk
Very true wavelar43. Yeah school and work can really overwhelm me some weeks. Thank you all so much!!!!
45 mins of intervals on the arc trainer.....my fave! And I did planks, abs will be sore tomorrow, can't wait!
I have a question about the amount of calories I should be eating. LS says I sould have
1838 a day. But with my workouts, which burn between 600-1200 calories a sessions SHOULD I
increase my intake.. Lately Ive been under my 1800 carlories but not by much. I dont want
to hurt my muscles and decrease in muscle mass so Im worried that being at 1800 calories a
day will make me lose muscle mass.
WOD
6 mile bike to gym
42 min of rowiing
6 mile bike home
total calories burn 1080(garmin 610)
thanks and keep exercising!!
I did my work out this evening, was a half hour late but made it. Today was weigh in, and I hate scales. I lost 2/10th of a pound. Whatever, that means. I have been working out hard. I did fall off the wagaon with my calorie counting for 2 days. Anyway feel like eating, just because. I quit smoking for about six months now. I have to replace that release with something besides food. I don't know if i can do the scale thing.
Great job on the workout! The best we can do is try, right? Is it that you're hungry or your eating out of boredom? I have no fail proof strategy for avoiding eating out of boredom but maybe when you get the urge go for a walk instead? Or try substituting more unhealthy snacks for healthy snacks? I try to stuff myself with veggies so I feel full. I get depressed when the scale magically goes up or I only lose 0.1 lbs... but you have to start somewhere. Just think of what the scale will look like when those 2/10ths of a pound start adding up... :)Â
I did my cadio class and then an hour of hatha yoga. Tomorrow is my rest my muscles day and I am ready for it! :)
One hour Muay Thai group class, one hour private sparring lesson. There is nothing as
intense as the training and conditioning in an MMAÂ gym, so IÂ love that. and there is
NOTHING as humbling as training in martial arts. No matter what skill you aquire there's
always someone better, and I always feel like I gain one skill at the expense of
another. But today, I got a encouragement of sorts. No matter how many times this one
girl, who is an awesome fighter - she has her first amateur fight this summer - tried to
clinch me, IÂ prevented the clinch every time, even partially reversed it and got her off
balance once. And she's MUCH taller than me, which makes it much harder! It's not as
good as actually clinching HER, but it's a step in the right direction......... My nightly
shadowboxing and conditioning training is paying off. but BOYÂ do IÂ have a long way to
go........
rdk211
How exciting!!! Always wanted to do this ... you have the right attitude. Keep kicking you know what!
If you always wanted to try martial arts, what's preventing you? It's an awesome workout, it enriches every aspect of my life, I've made amazing friends, and it's so empowering. You just have to find an MMA gym that makes you feel comfortable. Where I train, all shapes and sizes and ability levels are welcome and there's a lot of support and collaboration, especially for newer fighters. I know not every place is like that, but you can shop around and find somewhere you feel comfortable.
I needed some motivation, so I hope this makes me feel like I am held accountable. Today I "ran" 3 miles with a co-worker. I was super slow and slowed her down quite a bit, but I feel good (though I feel like I got hit by a truck) that I did it. I am going to try and do a mile or two everyday at lunch, so I can get a little more back in shape, and don't slow her down quite as much during our future runs. Joined the Y again too, so that crummy weather isn't an excuse to not exercise.  I turn 30 in a few months and need to get out of this slump!
Hello, everyone i am a newbie. However, I feel like I fit right in after reading some of the blogs. thanks for the support.
I've only been successful with weight loss through exercise once in my life... but when I
was doing it, I was in the best shape of my life. I've recently started getting back
into fitness in order to lose a substancial amount of weight. The only way I can fit it
into my schedule is to do it at home. I bought an elliptical because that's what I had
used at the gym and really liked it as my cardio.. I also bought a set of dumbbells that
go up to 20lbs each. I've got my upperbody weight strengthing routine down... that one
was easy. I'm struggling with getting a strengthing routine for my lower body. I am
working up to 30 minutes per day on the elliptical (currently at 25min per day) and I'd
like to alternate upper body one day, lower body the next... if anyone can suggest a
routine that could be done at home I'd appreciate it. I had ACL repair in Sept. so it's
important to me that I get my hamstring stronger.
Thanks
increase resistance on the elliptical, that will help, and do deadlifts, they work your back and hamstrings and butt! Good luck! Stick with it!
Squats and lunges are some of my least favorite exercises, but they work. With your knee I'd be very careful though. Maybe just do restricted movements until you feel very comfortable.
They have some great workouts online for the eliptical. You can run them off and follow them so you dont get bored and in a plateau. Ladder is one. I try hard to do the right form because I have back & calf problems and do not use weights with squats and lunges (or I can hurt myself) so maybe that would work for you. I also started getting workout videos to find the one I like.
I play golf frequently and am amazed at how many calories Livestrong calculates for this
activity. Â It's hard for me to believe that, at 220 lbs, I can burn 349 calories per hour
while riding in a cart. Â That's nearly a 100% offset to my daily intake allowance for a
five hour round! Â Am I missing something? Â Shouldn't the credit for exercise be net of
what I would have burned anyway had I not played golf. Â After all, we all burn some
calories just for being awake. Â HELP
Â
Doug
That definitely sounds a bit crazy as far as calorie burn goes. If you walked around the entire course, carrying your clubs I could see a higher burn. Do you happen to have a heart rate monitor? That is the only way to truly measure the amount of calories you are burning accurately.
Thanks Mrsshady.  I could wear a monitor and record information in order to get a better handle on it.  I wouldn't want to wear one on a regular basis, but once or twice would get me the info I need.
Any recommendations on a good heart rate monitor? I have been thinking about getting one but haven't really looked into it yet. My friend has one on her watch that seemed pretty nice.Â
Carol - I have had several models made by Polar over the years.  They usually come with a watch and tend to be pricey.  The key is to make sure that the strap can be used without the watch (for use on exercise equipment that have built-in receivers).  I'm still not sure how to interpret my results while playing golf in terms of calories burned. Yes - an hour and half total body weight circuit (BRUTAL - worked every muscle group to
failure. I'm gonna FEELÂ it tomorrow!) and a one hour self-defense class. Today, lots of
grappling which is an AWESOMEÂ cardio workout (as well as being MUCHÂ more fun than it
looks!)
rdk211
Well you go girl. There is no more personal workout that I can think of than martial arts, especially the closeness and surrender of grapling (well maybe one uhh umm). So many people have forgotten the real meaning of martial arts and it is so powerful of a tool in cultivating our inner dicipline. Let all of us who really have a passion for this art encourage others and lead the people who we know can lead another home into it.
The neverending iron circle of health and love.
Well said, Courage007. I love my martial arts practice - it enriches every aspect of my life. When I started, I remember thinking that I would NEVER get in the ring, NEVER take advanced self-defense and grappling, . NOW.....I do all of those things, and each time my Kru tells me to I'm ready for something more advanced, and I kind of fight it for a while, I've learned that she's pretty much ALWAYS right, so there's no point in arguing with her. That just earns me (deserved) push-ups and I STILL have to do whatever it was she wanted me to do in the first place. Grappling was like that for me. It was intimidating to get in that close with someone, especially considering what a little girl I am (I'm 5 feet tall and I weigh 132 lbs) But actually, my shoulder strength (swimming is my cross-training) really helps me with that. I shock myself now with how much I look forward to learning more grappling and how much I love getting in the ring. Now she's making noises about me preparing myself for advanced sparring, where headshots are legal, and I'd LIKE to say "No..." because that's frankly intimidating, but she's always right.......so I will end up there sooner or later. Meanwhile, better practice slipping with my hands up to prepare for the day!

Today for my workout I tried an interval timer app with my work out, the app is available in iTunes, and it's free and AWESOME!! I normally do intervals but with the timer I was able to stay on point and not slack off at all so my intervals were consistant. It kicked my butt and I loved it! I did 40 minutes on the arc trainer, 15 minutes on the elliptical--both of those with the interval timer, and then I did some lifting for 20 minutes, biceps, shoulders, and back. Awesome gym day!
I know - I love my gymboss interval timer for the same reason. Did you ever try jumprope intervals? Basically, you jump as fast and hard as you can for a minute, then recover for two with a slow skipping jog and keep alternating. Key is to really jump high (if you can do high knees while jumping even better) it's like a mini-plyometrics workout and it's great for your calves and lower legs, and really gets your heart rate up. My trainer also likes a one minute interval of an all out sprint on the treadmill. I HATE those, but I do them!Â
I have not tried intervals by myself. I always do them in cardio class or pt. It is an app? I am not technical but it sounds like something I would like. I cannot seem to keep myself going when I am on my own for the interal training.

Well,  since I have not gone to the gym for 12 days due to injuring my knee...I have
the okay to head back to the gym. Â I have been eating like crazy just watching movies,
so...I have gained a lot....ugh....back to the drawing board I guess. Â Wish me luck
because I know it is really going to take something to keep me going. Â ugh...I feel
terrible.!!!
Â
You should think of a real pie in the sky goal. And keep your mind on it. Then when you feel like not doing it remember how good it will be to get it. Something life changing.
I have two huge reasons for getting into shape, but every time I am moving along and doing well...I either get sick or injure my knee--which lands me in bed for weeks at a time.  ugh.  My son's are graduating (one from the University of Pittsburgh and the other from The Shanghai International School, PRC., and I really want to wear a beautiful dress that I wore when my--now-- 18 year old son was born.  I wore it to a dinner one week after he was born, so...there is no reason why--after 18 years...I can't push myself to get into it.  This "set-back" has reallyl hurt my motivation, etc.  I was so exhausted at the gym today that I really felt all of my 48 years and then some...actually I felt like I was 100!  So, I am going to hang this dress on my closet so every single day I am going to be reminded to get to the gym and stop eating so much.  I know I have a food addiction problem, but I was able to control it before...I just have to start again.  ugh....so difficult.  so difficult.  If ever I reach my goal I am definitely...100% going to post my journey on the "Unbelievable story" section because it will not only be an Unbelieveable story...it will be a miracle.  ugh.....
I think they are wonderful goals! Its very hard to get back into something from so long ago and I hope you make it. Maybe after you can make another goal to follow it up. Like if I get healthy and this weight I would love to go on an adventure vacation with activities I always wanted to try. Something you always wanted to do though.
I'm actually new to livestrong, IÂ had a baby in 2007 and since then I have struggled with
losing weight, being on a diet and still have a hard time sticking to workout plans. I'm
2lbs away from gaining exactly 100lbs from my weight before IÂ got pregnant. I don't have
too much support when it comes to eating right and exercising even though I know that's a
really poor excuse BUT I'm so happy that I stumbled upon this site
 . I recently started a new job at a call center from 8:30am to 5:00pm, now I
feel like IÂ won't have enough time to get home to make dinner, bathe my son, do laundry,
& workout. Well with that being said, I can really use all the support I can get.
Thank you!
It can be hard sometimes to get a workout in. If nothing else, take your little one for a walk around the block, or make it a family thing at night after dinner. We used to do that when our girls were little. After a while (short while), they got to where they would try to get the stroller out of the closet as soon as dinner was over. They looked forward to their nightly walk as much as we did. It doesn't have to be a long walk, maybe 20 minutes.
 Â
That is a good idea! IÂ gained that with my daughter and it was 20 years ago and now I am doing it. I just let life keep going. Love yourself no matter what but trust me do it now rather then later.
You will do great and you will find a way to make it work. I don't have any kids but my sister has a little boy and she is a single mom, she manages to do it all and you can too! She utilizes the daycare area that's inside of her gym, she loves having that option, and her son has fun there! And if you can go for walks on your lunch break that;s awesome!
I have a 13 month old son and understand your struggle with trying to fit everything in, BUT it can be done! I often strap my son into his stroller and go for a walk as part of my workout. I talk to him about what we see, providing great learning experiences for him PLUS I get some exercise and bonding time. I also fit in some weights (sometimes just using my chunker monker little man) and he thinks it is hilarious. Best of luck!
IÂ have six kids and a full time job - my suggestion is to find a gym with a daycare center. Then you can have him be babysat while you work out. By the time you go home, he'll be tired out and ready for bath/bed. And you'll have all those endorphins in your system from working out to propel you through that exhausting bedtime routine.

I didnt get to write yesterday, but boy I'm feeling the burn today. I just signed up and this is just the thing that I need to renew my focus and keep me on the path, kudos to all of those who have put this together and to everyone who keep eachother rolling along. I don't have the weights, the fancy equipment or frankly the money right now for a gym membership but theres nothing like the smell of grass and the taste of dirt. I did four sets of twenty five back arm dips and the same over head foreward pressing my body weight using a small homemade wooden bench about three feet long and a foot and a half high. On to working with the jite (long staff, about ten feet or so) great cardio and a blaster on the forearms, for about thirty minutes. I stopped first though and did the five ai-ki-do forearm/wrist stretches (I think seven times each with each hand holding for five to ten seconds each) and some eastern splits. WHOOO WEE I can feel it today its the first time to get a routine started in like six months, I feel great thank you guys for getting me motivated again. Lets go find some breathing exersizes.
Wow - I'm impressed by your focus. If IÂ didn't have a rotation that I'm signed up for at my MMA gym, it would be WAYÂ too easy for me to skip my workout. IÂ know a true martial artist should have more self-discipline than that, but right now, I'm outsourcing my motivation..........knowing that I'm gonna have to do punishment pushups if IÂ skip a class keeps me honest!Â
If you don't have money for a gym membership, and you want one, why not trade labor? You sound like you are knowlegable enough to instruct or at least train.
Congratulations on your re-start and looking forward to hearing more about it.
rdk211
I tried doing a couple new dvds but got about 25 minutes in total. I just could not manage my calories this weekend. I mean 1400 to 1450 or so each day. Will start again tomorrow with a kick boxing clas and yoga. Even though I am the only one who cannot punch and kick at the same time... smiles to you!
Just take your time with this it doesn't come over night. Try to slow your movements down at home. Focus on breathing properly with the strikes, and find what positions allow the movments to flow from you more naturally.
Keep it up you'll make it
Thats good advice I had not thought about the breathing and my stronger positions. I will try this next time. Thanks
IÂ felt that way in my first cardiokickboxing class too - I was a total trainwreck.
Now I'm training in a martial arts gym, which is a whole different level than Cardio Kick - it takes practice and the courage to feel like a fool for a while while you are learning. Don't worry - no one is looking at you, they are all worried about themselves. You can also YouTube beginning kickboxing technqiues and then shadow box in front of a mirror to see if you are imitating the instructor properly. You feel like a total dork doing it, but it really pays off after a while. You'll get there.......
rdk211
Thank you, I hope so I am doing it twice a week and hopefully 3 times a week. I will try the youtube thing thanks!
shannonmw71 - you can also try hiring a trainer at the gym if you want some one on one help to learn the moves. IÂ did that for step aerobics because I couldn't catch on at first. Cardio Kickboxing is such an awesome workout, and one day maybe you will "graduate"Â to learning a martial art. If it sounds cool to you, you'd probably enjoy doing it! Remember, and it might sound cheesy, but IÂ find it inspirational - the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step!Â

Just got back from the gym. 15 minute walk, 45 minutes of intervals on the arc trainer and 30 minutes of upper body liftinnggggg.
Just did 40 min of Jillian Michaels Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. That woman is an evil genious. Had to do some modifications on the abs circuit but hey--atleast IÂ got through it! Woohoo!
Hey, high five to you for getting threw it. I've heard nothing but good things about this DVD, well worth the time. I must add it to my collection, 30 day shred and 6 weeks abs. She really is an evil genious and she have some of the best dvd you can buy. You will always walk away saying she just kicked my but. - "Don't worry about what you can't do but Do what you can do".
This is the first day I absolutely did not want to go do anything. Tight back, tight calves and exhausted. I did go and probably burnt 150 calories. Not great but at least it is something. Will try to follow my eating just right today but IÂ want to eat. Better go get the Chinese veggies!!!

I busted it today doing 45 on the eliptical and 30 on the free weights...................5 days in a row!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yea me!!
Kick boxing this morning and 50 minutes of resistance and stretching this afternoon. I am finding twice a day works for me 3 or four times a week. I lost another pound since Monday so I think this is the goal! I dont think I will make 3 pounds a week so I will try for 2. :)
Yesterday morning my 6 yr old daughter told me that I am getting fat (well she said it nicely but the take away message was the same). For some reason it hit me really hard that I have not been challenging myself to accomplish any of my goals. Two years ago when I gained the weight I was telling myself that I would loose it and here I am two years later weighing the same. So yesterday I calculated everything I ate and did excercise for 40 minutes. My daughter looked so proud of me to see me work out. She even told me this morning I should do it every day.  I have to admit my body is feeling it a bit b/c I am very out of shape. I posted reminders to keep a food journal and log in how much excercise I did.  I weigh 163.5 pounds and my goal is to be 133 pounds. I will start one pound at a time and hopefully get to my goal. I am hoping since I am working on this it will ripple to my other life goals.
I was feeling so tired and unmotivated yesterday, but I managed to do 45 minutes on the elliptical. Not going at the rate I normally do. I also ran on the treadmill for 10 minutes at a moderate speed with high inclines. Finished off with ab work. Still tired today, but will go to the gym again regardless. I might not do as much as I did yesterday, but aiming to do at least something. Keep telling myself doing a little is better than nothing! My motivation seems to be dwindling though, this is almost my second week of exercising everyday, just trying to keep my goals in mind...
Did not get a workout in yesterday, IÂ need to get a gym membership or sign up for a fitness class or something. Working out on my own just makes me feel down, but when I'm with others it's easier to stay motivated. My hip was feeling a bit out of wack yesterday and I wanted to atleast try to stretch it out with a light workout but I didn't. Oh well, I will try to make up for it today.

this morning, i did kick boxing workout on netflix. 40 min. I haven't sweated that hard in a while. i know it was working for my body because it felt like hard work. 2nd. i pulled my boys in a wagon around the neigborhood for an hour. 3rd. just got finished doing relaxation yoga for 44 min.Â
Yesterday was my first session of 100 with a personal trainer. I will be using a trainer three days a week doing vigorous weight training. the two days in between, I will be doing cardio. Treadmill and Elliptical.
Three days a week is the perfect amount with a personal trainer! And doing your cardio on the side is wonderful you should have great results ... :)
At least an hour a day of cardio since I posted the other day across treadmill, elliptical and bike; I averaging about 750 cals a day zapped!
Didn't exercise yesterday, but today my husband and I took the dogs (our 4 legged children) to the dog park. We walked around the park, played keep-a-way, and I chased down the boys every time they wandered too far. So I got about an hours worth of exercise and two very tired pups. Wish I had the energy and dedication some of you have, but at least I'm starting to add activity into my day. That counts for something:)
For me the first month of exercise got me to where I can actually exercise right and without total exhaustion. Then after about 1 and a half months I started working on my calories.
sorry for 2 mssg my computer keeps messing up) It sounds like you have fun things to do for exercise, I want to find something like that as well.
That counts for A LOT! Shannonmw71 is exactly right, when you're doing it on your own like you and many of us are, you just gotta take it step by step. Don't push yourself too hard and get overwhelmed, staying active is a great start!
I really like the idea of getting into the exercise then working on the calories.  A lot of people say work on the diet then the exercise, but I need the exercise for feeling good and gaining strength and endurance.  I am plating my food and by doing that I am slowly cutting back on calories.  I started a walk 10 miles at 85% this week and so far have 8 miles in and it feels so good.  Hope everyone feels good and strong today!
I treaded water for 30 minutes. It felt fine until I got out, then it felt like my legs
weighed a 1000
lbs!!
I got my lifeguarding certification a few years back and LETÂ MEÂ TELLÂ YA treading water was always the hardest part for me. I can't remember how long we had to do it, but I don't think it was 30 minutes! Swimming is great because you use your entire body (and you don't sweat!) Wish I had a pool around here!
3 mile run, 24:27.
I felt pretty good. IÂ began slower today around a 9:30 min/mile pace and then kicked it
out some at the end.
Pushups, suicides, running, lunges... lunges... jump rope... I forgot what else but it felt good to use my achy muscles. Definitely going to noon Yoga.Â
Hi!  Don't just post...reply!  Everyone comes for accountability, but encouragement,
jubilation, information is the icing on the cake so to speak :) Â
Just my 2 cents
Â
Enjoy your day, be the best YOU that you can be! Â
2 steps forward 1 step back is still moving forward!

Hi my name is kervin Santokie i'm from kingston jamaica living there also I also have a disability but workout constantly but due to a injury broken big toe from last week i'm not able to workout will start back as soon as recovered.
Did my first Zumba class to day and Loved it!!! Even though I had a hard time keeping up with some of the steps I had so much fun and the hour flew by. Will definitely keep this class in my exercise routine.
Glad you enjoyed your Zumba class. I'm trying with the Wii and hopefully will be able to handle a real class.
I love Zumba! I do it once a week and am going to start doing it more often. When IÂ first started I thought I'd never catch on (I'm a terrible dancer) and IÂ wasn't really getting too winded or sweaty, but once you know the moves you can really go nuts with them! Now my heart is pounding and I'm sweating my booty off after the first song. Again, LOVE it.
Soooo.... the day after bootcamp aches and pains have kicked in. Oy! Gym this morning was
optional for me and I decided it was a no go. I may try for an easy hour on the elliptical
or take the pup for a long walk tonight to stretch out.
Any tips for fast recovery after a tough workout?
Happy hump day!
AHH, I love that feeling. Having it today! I know I worked hard and am making progress.
YES - I use a foam roller (they don't cost much, try a sports store or Power Systems) to release the tightness of the muscles. I'm addicted to my foam roller! Then, I take a really hot Epsom Salt bath - you can get one with a good smell added and some have ingredients for sore muscles.
I would also suggest on your alternate days, walk or do the elliptical to keep your muscles supple.

Haven't posted for quite a few days ( My computer broke and I can't connect to the internet!). Anyway, I've been keeping up with exercising everyday. Yesterday, I did a bodyjam workout class at my gym for an hour. Today woke up early to leave work early to have more time at the gym because I'm going to a concert tonight. It's going to be a long day, but I'm really trying to keep exercising in my schedule!

Ran 4.50 miles did great. It's starting to get hot here in Texas 86 at 10 am. I got get up a little earlier to beat the heat.
OK - I finally bit the bullet and did my full body weight circuit. My goal is to
completely fatigue all my muscle groups twice a week. My main workout is muay thai and
self-defense.
So, one hour self-defense class (very cardio tonight, we did grappling, so lots of trying
to get out from under a full mount or trying to stay on top.....the girl I was working
with is way above my weight class, so that added alot to the workout. I can really see
why there are weight classes!)
an hour and a half full body weights circuit. I'm feeling that pleasantly tired feeling
that I get when my muscles are completely blown. Glad I bit the bullet and started it up
again. Hope I stick to it on Friday as well.

I walked the dogs today for about 30 mins. My chihuahua is easy to handle. The 7 month old
pit/red heeler mix is not. He definitely needs more leash training. Although the constant
pulling and trying to control him made me walk faster and gave me an upper body work out
to keep him from running away from the bigger dogs in their yards. He didn't like that
they were barking at him. I think next time we will walk at the park instead of around the
neighborhood:) Also, does anybody know some good websites for vegetarian meals? I am
trying to cut down on the amount of meats we eat.
pull the lease in so there is only 1 foot between you and the dog and jog lightly. It will put him in a different gate. Stop and make him sit next to you.
NEVER gut back on meat or should I say protein. Muscle needs fuel and protein is the fuel for muscle. There are lots of ways to get protein through non meat foods.
Good luck!
Hmm, I don't have a good website, but I usually make a tofu stir fry on my meatless nights. Very easy and tasty.
Yesterday I got my butt kicked with weights and rsistance for 50 minutes. Today I did 40 minutes aerobics and of course starined my calf ... but this nice man helped me & I am feeling sooo much better. I then did 30 minutes Hatha yoga. Phew!
I'm going in for back surgery on June 18th for a fractured vertabrae. I'm still trying to
do all I can though to exercise. I did a thirty minute water jog today and it wasn't as
easy as I anticipated. I still burned 635 calories so it was a positive step.
Did a couple of weights for an arm work out, lat pull downs and one other. Then I just set the tredmill to "hill' and level 12 to walk for 30 minutes while I read my book. Decent, slow work out but it's better than nothing! I think the wear and tear of so much stress is taking its toll on me.
I did video/s today - a one mile muscle walk and a 2 mile walk = both with weights. I kept my heartrate up to 85% on the 2 mile walk. Then I walked a ssslllloooowww mile with a neighbor who is rehabing a broken leg - being out in the sun was great. Doing OK with my eating so far today - never like to brag about that, it's too easy to fall off the diet. Hope everyone is having a good day.
Started and stopped three times, but I did get through my entire workout. Sooo that counts for something, right?! :\ I'll just have to hit it double time tomorrow.
I am working out hard, but I have done better in the past. I can't get discouraged at my lack of weight loss. I do cheat a bit with wine with dinner and sweets after dinner. I have to keep plugging alone and not beat myself up for slip ups here and there. I have to keep on my life path of health and eating in moderation. To My Fellow Teammates ....You Go!
Good morning (it's still morning in the great pacific northwest) !
Started a 6am bootcamp with a trainer in town. Talk about an hour of getting my butt
handed to me. Pushups, burpees, pushups, jumping jacks, stair running (UGH!!!), mountain
climbers, pushups, planks, suicides, running, and much more! Wait, did I mention pushups?
Its a small class which is NICE since I feel like I'll get more one on one if I need it. I
feel like my arms are going to fall off but its 7am and my workout is already out of the
way! One of the girls had a heart rate monitor and said she burned about 560 calories...
so I tracked something similar.

I have to excercise in the morning!!!! I really hate that!!! But I have to face the music, I am far to busy during the day. I have been excercising, but my work load during this month will only increase. Does anyone out there understand me? I am not really an early riser. I am a night ouw and going to bed early is super hard for me, but then I pay the price in the morning. I did my 45 mins of intense work out
. I have one of those TV systems that gives you a schedule to follow. I have
found that I can do it, but I feel the need to tell the world "I do not want to get up
early
!!!!!!!!!"....but I will. At least that is what I am telling myself. I am going
to bed it is 10:25pm and I am going to slowly make myself go to bed earlier so I can wake
up earlier. Have a great night every one. Saludos desde Ecuador! Flor.

Short, but yes, I did!

Admittedly, IÂ contemplated skipping the gym. It was getting late and past my "normal" gym time, I began making justifications, like it was so late IÂ wouldn't have enough time for a decent workout, ect. But IÂ did it. IÂ stopped those thoughts. Got up from my desk and went. It was a short run, but I am glad IÂ did it.
2.25 miles 18:35.
I'm getting it back

I started running again this morning. It's only been about five years. That and I started working with the long staff and the short sword daily day before. I haven't posted in a few days but this is really keeping me on track, or helping shove my fat £€€ back on the boat. Thanx to all of y'all.

30 min Leslie Samsone "Walk Away the Pounds", add weights where I could.  I hope to get in a long run on Saturday. "Don't worry about what you can't do but do what you can do".Â

New to the group, but not to LS. I am training for the Denver Rock & Roll Half Marathon in September, so being a part of this group should help keep me going on those "less motivational days!" I have been training for 4 weeks now...Today: an hour of cross training on my road bike and shoulder and tricep work!
STRONG!

I feel STRONG! Just finished 25 min on the elliptical and 20 minutes weights on upper body! Anyone know why "light" weight burns more calories than "moderate" when tracking calories burned.... and what the difference is?
by rdk211 on May 31, 2012 at 7:29 am
Wow! keep it up. IÂ don't think the calorie count on Livestrong is so accurate. Different people have different definitions of "light"Â or "moderate."Â You can wear a hear rate monitor and judge by that.
