We all have tried countless diets, and most of us failed - most of the time. TDP is perfect to help people track their intake, and excersize - but what happens when you eat too much cake over the weekend and feel like giving up? We all try to support eachother in triumph and in our slumps. Sharing our sucess, and cheering for eachother's sucesses. But dont forget that we all will plateau, or have a weak moment, and we'll be here giving encouragement when its needed. ALL ARE WELCOME!
Hi all! So I'm new to this group, but have a topic that I'd love some input on. Although I do a pretty good job of eating healthfully (I try to eat a balance of whole grains, proteins, fruits, veggies, etc. on a daily basis), I have a HUGE sweet tooth, and find it really hard to resist things like chocolate, cookies, ice cream, cake, etc. Unfortunately, this always seems to turn into a huge obstacle on my journey to getting in shape and being healthier. I've tried allowing myself to have a little bit of dessert every day or every other day, but this always seems to lead into a full-blown sugar binge because I love it so much. I've also tried to just completely cut myself off from it (and eating a piece of fruit when I start craving it) but after a few days it ends up driving me crazy and I crack and have some. So, I'm wondering if there are any other total sweet tooths out there with my problem, and if so, what have you done to deal with it? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! I'm just so tired of having these cravings get in the way of my fitness goals...
YUP i totally get what you are saying. i have the exact same problem. i will eat super healthy and then BOOM i have something sugary or full of bad carbs and my whole focus is gone. i find the weekends the hardest because i am at home; where if i am at work i can only eat what i have brought {although we have vending machines i just don;t go down there}
what i find works for me is having a little thins chocolate bar {100 calories} right before i eat lunch. that way i eat it, get that crave out of my system and then eat lunch and i am super full so i don;t want anything else. {i dont' do this everyday} and the taste of sweet chocolate is out of my mouth.
even hard candies. they have tons of sugarless ones. just suck on it till you have your real snack and that might take the crave away. have lots of veggies like carrots or celery sticks at your reach. tons of water and even try crystal light drinks. they help out a lot.
i hope this help even a little :)
