New to group

posted by Deeder729 on 7:15 am

Hi everybody,

I'm new to DLP and your group. I'm an administrative assistant so I am stuck at my desk (accept for nice weather when I walk at breaks and lunch) all day then go home and take on-line college courses! I do try to exercise most days, but I'm finding that I can't eat and exercise like I used to when I was younger and still maintain my weight. I've really had to up the intensity and change my diet. Gone are the days of eating pizza or half a dozen chicken wings and drinking a couple of beers without giving it a second thought. And cake, cookies, or candy? Forget about it. I'm starting to believe that they're for young people and not for me.

But enough of that! I'm smarter, stronger, and happier at 43 than I've ever been in my life. I want to be health and fit and want to be full of energy and live as long as I can! It's about living a healthy lifestyle at this point in my life and hopefully reaping the benefits as I get older.

Thanks for the welcome! I hope I can keep tracking my calories over the weekend and don't slack off. I'm having family for for dinner on Sunday - my boyfriend's parents - and his Mom taught me how to make a sauce. How about some spaghetti with sauce & sausage and a couple glasses of red wine? You know I'll be eating some ;-) I better weigh in on Saturday!
