For people who can't sleep at night, which makes for midnight snacks and hungry tired tomorrows. This group is to trade sleeping/eating healthy tips and for encouragement when we are exhausted during the day.
Hey everyone, just joined this group, but i figured that some of you might be able to help. I just need some activities to do that might make me sleepy, that i could replace with my bad habits of doing things that keep me awake and more aware at night.
I found doing some intense cardio in the evenings coupled with some lifting helps me get to sleep. This might just be from pure exhaustion, but it works for me.
Also, getting into bed with the INTENT of getting to sleep (telling yourself that you WILL get to sleep) and then doing some mundane/mindless activity works. I play tetris on my cell phone in bed and that works fairly well.
For me the problem isn't falling asleep; it's STAYING asleep! I get up around 12AM and wander, read, or snack.
Does anyone else do this?
I to have no problem falling asleep and then constantly wake up throught the night. It seems I get my best sleep between 4 and 6 in the morning which kinda sucks since I want to start running in the morning before work.
I wrote a blog about how to get a good night's sleep. Maybe it will help you. http://fitnessbuff1.wordpress.com/
i find that working out in the mornings actually helps me get to sleep at night but if i work out right before bed i have more trouble falling asleep.
in terms of waking up frequently, i used to do that a lot more, but now that i have a blind fold it seems to help...i don't really know why because it stays pretty dark in my room at night but for some reason i wake up less....now my problem is just getting to sleep in the first place!
i also have been told that trying to keep the same bedtime helps and sleeping the same hours most nights can help....does this work for anyone? i have attempted to do it but i've never kept it up for more than a couple days so i don't know if it would work in the long term.
all that being said, i couldn't sleep last night at all. :( I hope tonight is better.
Hi jen49, This isn't too exciting, but I've...
i TOTALLY sleepwalk too! drives my roommates...
