I had two of them for breakfast...
That second one was just sitting there on the stove top, calling my name...
"Chriiissstiiiinnnaaaaa, eatttt meeeeeeeeee!"
They were delicious, if you were wondering.
On a COMPLETELY unrelated note [/sarcasm], I'll be perfectly happy if I just come out even
on Monday.

Had somewhat of a seafood fest at a high end resteraunt...drop some big coin(Can't take it
with you) and really enjoyed ourselves...Even received a tour of the kitchen by
management...V.I.P. treatment..LOL, Went over about 400 calories for the day! No
regrets...Life is good
So I can't go to a gym because I have no money and usually no transportation and a 2 year old. I know some gyms have daycare, but they are usually more costly than the cheaper gyms, and it all goes back to money anyway. I do go on walks frequently, but that just isn't enough. I know I need to tone and start building muscle mass, which will end up helping me burn the fat in the long run anyway. The P90 series seems ot be the most popular for in-home work outs. Has anyone here tried it or had any success with it? From what I can tell, it starts with P90, then you can move to the P90 Masters, then P90X, and if you are incredibly fit, P90 Insanity. I have the first 3 now and was looking over them and thinking about maybe starting with P90 today. Any opinions or suggestions for other programs you might have had success with?
I can tell you that the P90 series is AWESOME!!! I have been struggling with my weight for over 10 years now and have many of the same issues you do. I've tried everything, but nothing seems to work for me for very long. Last year my cousin came to visit us and nearly had a ripped body, when just 1 year before that he was probably over 200 lbs (and I think he's only 5' tall, maybe 5'1") so you can imagine how big he looked. When I heard he did the P90X to get that body, I started researching it myself. Because of how out of shape, and completely inactive I am, I started with Power 90 (P90). Their first disk (bootcamp) is where you start & you do what you can. You alternate between a sculpting workout and a cardio workout and you move onto the next disk once you're able to keep up with the people on the 1st disk. It's basically a learning video to teach your body how to do everything, then you move on to the more intense stuff. I am already seeing results in my body and I've only been doing this for just over a week. I'm not even doing everything they do, or at least not to the extreme that they do it, and I ache everywhere. I have muscles aching that I didn't even know I had. So I recommend you start with P90 and move up from there. When I was buying mine I considered starting with P90X, cause I just didn't wanna start with the sissy one. But if you're out of shape, P90 is more than sufficient!!! Good luck to you!!! :)
Today was day 2.. I decided to go ahead and go with it, and I hear you about aching muscles! I had to really really push myself to do the 2nd workout today because I was so sore just from day 1! I can't nearly do everything they can, but I find I really like his attitude about it on the video. I did start with P90 and I'll work my way up from there. Hopefully I don't just keel over during the sculpt workout tomorrow! However, I do look forward to the day I'm able to do everything on this first disc with ease!
Well I commend you for rising to the challenge! I know how hard it is to push yourself sometimes, but like you said, the guy has an amazing attitude! If you just can't handle the workout one day, you can always tone it down a level so you are still at least working out. But I'm with you, I am excited about the thought that someday I will be able to do the exact workout they do, and not only keep up, but know that I'm ready for the next level :)
So, I think I may have figured out why I've been so slow to lose weight... Lol. About
two weeks ago I did the BF% calculator they have at my gym and it came out to 39.2%, or
100lbs of fat on my body. Then, today I did it again and it was 32.8% and 83.2lbs of
fat! Even with there being a little variation because of time of day or whatever, that's
still pretty neat.
Any plans, exciting or not, for the weekend?
Of course we're all going to stay on track, eat properly, drink lots of water, exercise
and HAVE FUN!!!!
Well, I don't have much planned, but I am going to be packing Sunday. I'm leaving early Monday morning and will be out of town for about 2 weeks on a Christian outreach trip. So, I won't be on here, tracking or going to the gym for two weeks. I will be keeping an eye on what I am eating though, and I'll be so busy that I won't have time to sit around and be lazy, so hopefully even if I don't lose weight I'll be able to maintain.

The Devil made me do it!...., http://
www.hivehealthmedia.com/diet-cheat-day-dangerous-weight-loss-health/
P.s. I think the guy who wrote the article went a little over board....to say the
least.
So I went to the movie theater tonight and saw two movies. Inbetween showings I thought I would grab a small popcorn and drink, but discovered the theater I was at had a completely digital menu, and on each menu item it showed the calories for it! While I thought this was really cool, it definitely discouraged me from wanting to get anything after looking at those numbers!
I'm not really a "cue" person- like places, (outside of my house!) don't make me feel compelled to eat anything- BUT, the movies?!? That is the one place that is hard to not get a (unhealthy) snack. I've tried bringing grapes, but it doesn't seem to be the same. Cudos to you for having the will power to say No! The funny thing is that probably after you got home, it wasn't like even a thought about not having the treat- it was more thinking about the movies you had just seen. What movies did you see? I'm prob. going to see that Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy on Friday.

I don't go to the movies a lot but when I do, I make sure I'm stuffed so I won't be tempted for all of those yummy delicious EMPTY calories. I have taken little baggies with snacks in them, like grapes, cucumbers, plain cereal, etc. and of course WATER. It definitely isn't the same but keeps my hands busy with healthy snacks instead of dreamy delicious popcorn, lol. Good luck!!
@bravetraveller: I went to see Underworld: Awakening and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. I found both pretty good. I've been disappointed in the movie selection lately, but I think things will pick up once summer hits and movies like The Avengers comes out. I'm a movie fanatic! I'm actually working towards a degree in computer animation and I'm really torn between working on games or working in movies. I'll probably wind up doing both at some point.
@prettygirl: stuffed doesn't always cut it! My husband and I tried to go in full from a meal, but once you walk in those doors and smell that popcorn.... it's so hard to resist! What is it about popcorn at the movies? I'm not so crazy about popcorn outside the theater. It makes no sense! I worked at the theater and it's the same corn kernels and oil you might find in a Orville Redenbacher bag, but for some reason it just always tastes 10 times better.I do bring my own treats though. Besides, it's cheaper anyway with the way prices are going up!
Movies aren't a problem with me. One bonus of being broke is you're never tempted to spring for the $10 medium bucket of popcorn lol!
I bring my own bag of popcorn. I rarely go to the movies so when I go, I really want my popcorn. My daughter buys her treat at Walgreens on the way because you can't get a normal candybar at the movies, only super-sized. So we save money, sugar damage, time & calories. With the Academy Awards closing in, we'll probably go to the movies more often than usual in the next few weeks.

Ok, I'm here, taking the challenge. Now what? Suggestions on where to start? I never seem to do well with loosing weight.
Hi bekadvs:
Welcome to The Jackson's 100 Pound Challenge. You can go in Group #70.
You've definitely come back to the right place. Everybody is very supportive and dedicated here. Losing 100 pounds is a dream which can come true!!
We're all in the same boat trying to accomplish the same thing. This is an awesome group and very supportive and dedicated.
We're here to help you in any way we can. Best of luck to you on your improved lifestyle and weight loss journey.
We weigh in on Mondays and I will post everyone's weight loss results and group records on Tuesdays.
Drink lots of water, exercise, post & read with us and track everything you eat.
Here are some guidelines for posting your losses and general information:
**********Welcome to the Challenge***********
We will support you, all the way, not just the first 100 pounds (if you have more to lose). This is just a loose chart of how you can lose 100 pounds in one year. You get four weeks to complete each goal. These are loose goals to work for and there aren't any penalties if you miss a goal. Please also set some mini goals for yourself if you wish.
Goal 1: -10
Goal 2: -10
Goal 3: -10
Goal 4: -9
Goal 5: -9
Goal 6: -9
Goal 7: -8
Goal 8: -8
Goal 9: -8
Goal 10: -7
Goal 11: -7
Goal 12: -5
Please use this format weekly when posting your updates:
My starting date is __________
My group number is _________
My loss for the week is ____________
My total loss on the Jackson's Challenge is __________
I have _____ pounds left to lose to meet the Jackson's Challenge.
The key to losing weight is wanting to do it badly enough and finding the motivation to carry it through.
To start with, you need to ask yourself who you are losing weight for. If the answer is me you'll find it easier.
Get Support. Surrounding yourself with a good support network may also help to spur you on and TDP can certainly help you with that. By going into the Jackson's 100 Pound Challenge Group, you'll meet plenty of like-minded people who all want to lose weight. The advantage of this is that you'll always be able to find someone who has been through a difficult time with weight loss and has come out on the other side. This alone can be all that it takes to keep you motivated and on track.
In the meantime, you may also find it helpful to enlist the help and support of friends and family. Do you have a friend you could exercise with? Could your partner also do with eating a more healthy diet? Or could you encourage your work colleagues to do a fruit run rather than a chocolate run every afternoon?
You'll also find that once the weight starts to come off, the compliments will start to flood in and this will also help to keep you motivated. Ultimately, providing you really want to lose weight and have plenty of support to help you along the way, you'll achieve your goal. Good luck!
If you need help with anything please let us know. Each Monday we post our losses for the week. (You are in Group 70).
OK. I don't know how I can possibly get less sodium. I'm at least double my sodium by the end of the day everyday. I'm supposed to get 1176mg/day. Today I'm already at 880 just after breakfast. And that's with eating very few processed or packaged foods! I gained 2 lbs overnight and I know it's just water weight because I had 5000+mg of sodium yesterday! For breakfast today I had a whole wheat tortilla, 1/2 an avacado, 4 thin slices of turkey & one slice of havarti cheese. How can that possibly be almost all my allowed sodium for the day? I make a lot of home made soups, which have a lot of sodium, but very few calories & tons of nutrients. I mean, really, what am I supposed to eat that doesn't have sodium? And doesn't enjoying your food a little count for something? Anyway, is anyone else running into this sodium dillema?
Looking over the days I have recorded, the only time I hit a high sodium was when I ate out or ate processed foods, otherwise my sodium didn't really go over 400 for a meal at the very most, usually it was a lot less. Personally, I never add salt to my food. I also don't use as much salt as a recipe might call for.
Well sodium intake should be 1500-2000 mg per day. I read the food labels and use very little salt if any when cooking and stay aound 1500 Mg. anything with over 140 Mg is no longer low sodium. Check the sodium content on the tortilla! and did you buy turkey like... Dietz & Watson Gourmet Lite No Salt it has 50-mg sodium. Boar's head has several low sodium and no salt cheeses including swiss with only 35 mg per serving.
tortillas, turkey (lunchmeat?) and cheese all have LOTS of sodium. We might not think of them as processed foods because they're not in a can or box, they're still processed. Someone else is making them and you can't control the ingredients they use. Great job with the food choices, though. It sounds like you're doing well but sodium is very hard to control. Try more whole foods is really all I can say :\
Thanks for the input everyone. Today's breakfast was atypical - I usually don't eat lunchmeat or cheese, I was really surprised that such a small amount had so much sodium. Even with eating very few processed foods, I'm still getting too much sodium, but I'll keep working on it!
Living in wisconsin, I can tell you one of the steps in cheese making is "salting" it. It is soaked in a brine (saltwater) so it has lots of sodium. But it's yummy! If you've never seen cheese making, come on up and take a tour!
Someone told me that if you stick with only fresh and whole foods that you cook from scratch, you will know exactly what sodium is in it. My hubby is diabetic and is on high blood pressure pills, so we never add salt to anything and buy only sodium reduced stuff, but it's still too much. We do make our own sandwich meat when we have time, bought a slicer, and it really works. When we use it. However, hauling it out from under the cabinet is hard for me to do. Harder than texting my hubbie to pick up sandwich meat on the way home from work.
Good luck. You'll find a balance that's right for you.

My starting date is 1/6/2012
My Group # is 69

My total weight lost on the Jackson's challenge is 13.5 lb.
I have 86.5 lbs. left to lose to meet the Jackson's Challenge.
My starting date is 1/30/2011
My Group # is 69
My weight loss for the week is 1 lb.
My total weight lost on the Jackson's challenge is 1 lb.
I have 99 lbs. left to lose to meet the Jackson's Challenge.
So I was skeptical that maybe my weight was just fluctuating and I would see that awful number 3 again on the scale this morning since my weight was just 299.4 yesterday, but when I hopped on the scale this morning, it was an even 298! I guess I really can say goodbye to the 300s! Though I did sort of slip up on my no fast food rule and had some really late last night/early this morning. Amazing how much that cut out of my calorie allowance today. Planning a healthy dinner tonight to make up for it, some cajun tilapia with dill sauce and asparagus on the side! Also plan on walking my son to the park, which is a good mile and half walk one way (if the weather holds up).
Good job!!! Now keep grinding away and before you know t you will hit more and more milestones that will keep you excited. also great job holding off the fast food... it can be so hard, but yes, it certainly plays a huge part in what you get to eat the rest of the day... I also found that out this weekend.
If you're reading this and not
participating right now, come back, we want you. We'll help you on this journey. It's

My start date on Jackson Challenge was Dec 19 2011
Im in group 67
My weight change this week is +3
My total weight loss is 15 lbs on jackson
My current weight is 400 my goal weight is 265 my start weight was 415
I have 85lbs to go on the Jackson Challenge.
Did anyone else have a problem with the calorie tracker? I had my stats in and it gave me
2326 cals a day to lose 4 lbs a week. I reentered my numbers today and it changed it to
1877. I gained 3 lbs with the wrong figures. Now I have to figure out where to cut 500
calories a day. Back to the drawing board.
Hmmmmmm, that sucks. Not sure what happened with LS there. You're here and you're on this journey and that is what is important. Hopefully that little gain will be gone before you know it. The 400's are waiting to say goodbye to you and the 300's are waiting for you. Won't it be a nice feeling to bust out of the 400's? That will be huge motivation to keep going!! 15 pounds lost FOREVER, great work, keep at it.
yeah, I did. I started out with the wrong calorie intake because I entered stuff in wrong- (I thought it was to lose, but then I looked a few days later and it said it was to maintain current weight!) Then I thought, this still seems a little off, and re-did it again. All week I thought I was doing good, but on Monday, it said I gained a pound! I considered cutting it drastically, until someone recommended I maintain and keep the exercise routine to see what happens this week. I weighed myself this morning just to see, and it was down 5 lbs. So... all of this to say, I thought I was going back to the drawing board too, but I think I'm just going to tweak a few things and see what happens next week. Like, I'm not going to eat a big supper, but try to stay around 350/400 calories early in the evening. I'm also going to maintain my exercise routine from last week and maybe up it on the weekend. So... maybe think about tweaking instead of doing something drastic?

Total wt. loss on the Jackson's challenge 8 lbs
I have 92 lbs left to lose to meet the Jackson's challenge
I ate right, started exercising again consistently, but haven't completely stopped
snacking between 1 am and 3am; I am trying to break this habit though by going to bed
earlier. I console myself that at least I did not gain this week. Maybe next week will be
better.
My starting date is: 11/11/11
I'm so sorry for your loss. It must be very difficult to plan or even think about planning. It is great that you took out time for yourself to weigh in and post here. Take care, Linda
My starting date is: 01/27/2012
My group number is: 69
My gain for the week is: 1 lbs!
My total loss on the Jackson's Challenge is: 0
I have 101 lbs to go!
This first week was so weird! I thought for sure I would lose- my pants feel looser, I
exercised and sweated hardcore 5x a week, and on the other two days, I got out and walked
a lot. When I first started I was 265, then in the middle of the week I was 263.5 and
this morning, 266! I thought I did pretty good with my diet- this weekend I preplanned,
went out Friday night and only had a beer- ate a good supper before I went so I avoided
appetizers. I ate a lean cuisine pizza Sat. night instead of ordering a pizza and
didn't eat anything snacky on Sunday! When I started a little over a week ago, I thought
I should eat 1600 calories, then I switched to 1500 calories. This week, I'm going down
to 1200 calories a day, continuing with working out and REALLY making sure I eat right
every day. Last week I did have one day, Wed. where I went over my calories for the day.
It didn't take much- Starbucks here, chocolate in the afternoon there. Could that one
day of a few hundred calories really screw me over? Anyhow, I have carrots, grapes,
strawberries and apples all ready to grab for lunches, yogurt and lean cuisines. My
veggie drawer is full and ready for when I come home to cook supper. I also think that
this week I need to decrease my calorie content at night-eat a real light supper. I'm
going to make sure I work out 5x, and this weekend, I'm going to challenge myself to
actually going out and working out. I felt kind of anxious this weekend, so I didn't go
to my gym- but I did get out. Oh, and I finally bought my own scale so I don't have to
rely on finding a scale to measure myself on. Hopefully next week weigh in, it will be a
whole different story! Good luck to everyone this week!
be careful going too low - consider doing the same thing you did this week one more time and check back next week. 1200 calories is below your BMR - the number of calories your body would require if you were asleep 24 hours a day. It will burn muscle to decrease your basal metabolism - making it harder to lose weight in the long run.
Hang in there - there are lots of reasons the scales didn't move - it could be hydration - a gallon of water weighs 7 pounds - going up a pound isn't much extra water!
Hang in there!
Hmmm. Okay, that sounds like a plan. I'll keep the calories at 1500, but change the amount of calories I eat at night and keep the exercise the same and see what happens. Thanks for the encouragement!
You're here doing this still and that is what is important. Is there a lot of sodium in Lean Cuisine meals? I know pre packaged meals do at times. They could be lean as far as fat but sodium? Not sure. Good job on the walking, that's awesome. Our clothes and measurements are definitely other ways we can see our success besides our friend the scale. Keep at it, you CAN do this!!!
Yeah, they don't have the ideal sodium content, but I don't use salt in my other foods... and try to stay away from processed foods the rest of the time. I'm glad you brought that up though- I do have to make sure I keep that down. I used to have high blood pressure. Maybe I'll only do the meals every other day. I think that's a good idea. Thanks for looking out!
Are there any gold members here and what is your opinion on going gold? Is there that much difference for the price?
I'm a Gold Memer, but probably won't renew my membership when my year is up. For me, the motivation was the advertisment-free zone. I can't think of any other advantages to upgrading. Take care, Linda
Well a Gold Membership will help surport the web site for a start and will give you a nifty weight loss bar over your info/profile as so >
Daily Nutrition Chart
Week-at-a-Glance
Set Custom Nutrient Goals
Very nice additions to aid in your weight loss, I personel like the Nutrition chart and custom setting
Hope this helps.
Very good point about the Gold membership supporting the site. I am finding LiveStrong and Jackson's Challenge to be very supportive, so I will renew my membership to recipricate
. I would cry if the site had to close for lack of funding. PLUS, I've lost 6.5 pounds since January 1st and I give LS & JC most of the credit. If you only knew how long I've tried to lose even one pound, you'd know how excited I am about this small loss. bye & thanks!

again tomorrow and a back to logging my food right. Good luck to everyone on the

Maintaining is much better than gaining. Have fun getting back to exercising. 12 pounds lost FOREVER. Great work, keep at it.

you had another great week! Try to add the activity slowly - what about going for a walk just one day in the next week? That's more than you would have done otherwise!

Hello friends. I am going to be honest. I am so disgusted with my weigh in today.
I couldn't have done anything any differently. I ate right and exercised. I got on that
scale and only dropped .2 of a pound. I know a loss is better than a gain, but I worked my
heart out. I will not go back to eating junk and not exercising. Maybe my body is trying
to get used to the new things that it's doing. I guess it should because it's used to
doing nothing. :) I did lose 1/4 inch in my right thigh****3/4 inch in my left
thigh******and 1/2 inch in my waist that seems to never go down....... Here is my net
calores consumed for the last seven days.......if anyone could help me please feel
to.......I was trying to eat between 1650 to 1800 calories per day.....

Disclaimer - I'm still pretty high from a sedative from the doctors office -
I see you've been at this a while, and after losing 64 pounds (which is freakin awesome btw, congrats) it may be that you're on a plateau. Have you been losing consitantly or did you just recently get back at changing back to healthy habits? If you just got back at it, it may just be that your body is adjusting to the recent changes after losing some weight the last few weeks. It seems like most people that I've seen post here do really good the first 2 or 3 weeks then there's a bump in the road for a week or two, so it seems normal.
I have no idea if this pertains to you or not but; Another thing is the net calories. There seems to be 2 camps about how much calories that LS says we burn. Some feel it's right on and others think it's way too high. For me personally, after reading tons of posts on the forums and many groups here, and articles around the net I'm part of the LS over estimates how much we burn for most people. I use a heart monitor and I also bought something called a bodybugg to track my calories burned, and then split the difference. One thing I notice that people try and use the fitness tracker to track everything... "I cleaned the floors/I washed my car" etc... and think that is exercise. Sure, you are burning calories, but I'm pretty sure that things we do on a day to day basis should not be calculated as fitness. For instance, when I go shopping and spend 30 minutes at the store walking around that isn't 30 minutes of exercise, it's part of a normal sedentary life style. Bottom line; I set a daily and a weekly calorie goal and I try to stick with it regardless of how much I was at the gym or chased my cat around my house.
Lastly, you've lost inches and that's just as or perhaps more important as what the scale says. I wouldn't be too freaked out yet if I were you unless 2 weeks for now you're still not getting the results you feel you've earned. You've really came a long way and you will succeed if you don't stop trying.
Thanks fattyjim. My body has been acting up starting at week 3, I gained 4 pounds I think it was 4. My clothes are definitely looser. My pockets on one pair were sticking out at the sides, now they are not and they are much looser all around. I might just pitch that darn scale. Oops, can't do that, then I couldn't report in here. (I feel like throwing it in a river) Thanks again for the response. I lost the other weight starting from Jan 2010 up until I started here 1/2/2012. One day at a time. I'm going to keep on doing what I'm doing. I am not giving up. I'm just going to count the exercise I do and use the LS calculator and I will deduct 1/4 of the calories to be on the safe side. I just started changing things on the 2nd of Jan. I guess my body went into shock. :) I use a heart rate monitor with a calorie burned thingy on it, but it's a cheap one and I don't even use that thing....:) How do you like your body bugg? I was thinking about getting one. Please let me know if you like it. Thanks again.......
-Linda
Hang in there, you're doing well! You are right, just take it one day at a time and remember to look at the non-scale achievements too.
With as far as you've come, 10 (basically 11) pounds lost in a month is pretty darn good. I hope that when I'm at your weight that I can lose that, I'd be thrilled. So yeah your plan to keep doing what you're doing is probably the best plan.
The bodybugg has been an eye opener in that the days I'm really lazy and I'm not hitting high burn numbers it really motivated me to move more. As far as how accurate it is, I'd say that their claim it's within 10% seems about right. At the end of the month if I take the total calories I burned from the bugg, subtract that from my total calories I ate and divide the difference by 3500 (how many calories for a pound) it's been almost right on, within 2 or 3 pounds every month I've had it. Last month was:
Bugg said I burned: 126,202
Total calories eaten: 59,149
Subtract eaten from burned = 67,503 deficit
Divide deficit by 3,500 = 19.1
Actual pounds lost for the month: 18 pounds
If you do decide to get a bugg google 24 hour fitness bodybugg deals, they usually sell it for less than the company. I got mine for $99.
Anyways, good luck!
You're here with us and you're keeping at this, WAY TO GO!!! We all have to remember to measure our success in other ways besides our friend the *$&#^@#% scale. Your measurements are showing success, I'm sure your clothes are fitting differently, we get compliments and just knowing we're improving our lifestyle is success. 10.8 pounds lost is fantastic. Great work, keep at it.
Thank you so much bezoarman I needed to read that. Thanks again fattjim for the information. I think I'll google 24 hour fitness and if they still have it for 99.00 I'm ordering it tonight. :) thanks again...prettygirl08m, thank you so much. I'm agreeing with everything all three of you said and thanks so much. I'm off to google 24 hour fitness. :) :) :) Have a great night everyone........

Hello team,
This week I have mainly maintained and I have had a bit of a rubbish week. I feel really
poorly and keep chucking up all over the place. basically all i want is a mars bar.
(do you have them?)
I consider myself considerably lucky to hae done this well and hope that I will be a it
more dedicated next week. Will be back in the gym again too which will be a relief.
I hate the gym so I got to swim most days, 21 times in January (my gym has a leaderboard
for most frequent trips, I came second!!) but this weekend I ave taken people in with me
that have mucked around. This is great fun but not entirely conducive to weight loss.
Just got to keep thinking about where I want to beand how I'm going to get to.
So... In summary
Start date 18th November 2012
Loss this week 0 ... least I didn't gain!!
Total loss 25lbs
75 to go!!
You've come so far, you can't stop now! Stay focused on your goals, don't let anyone or anything stand between you and where you want to be. Good luck this week. BTW; the place that makes the mars bars burnt down, so have an apple!
21 trips to the gym is wonderful. That shows how hard you are willing to work for this. It's very common to have weeks where you have no loss - sometimes even a gain. Nobody's graph is a straight line. If you have more downs than ups, you'll get to where you want to be!
Jim - that's funny, but I bet a toasted Mars bar would be yummy!! ;)

You're doing so great, always consistant. You really seem to have a handle on how to do this... Don't stop! Have a great week.
You're going to be able to skip several clothing sizes at this rate!! If this were the olymics, you'd be getting a GOLD!!
Your right bezoarman ,I lose 6 inches off my waist in 75 days...one of those days I'll have to start working out again. At this point I just want to get this weight off to save what's left of my Knees. I walk my dog for 15-mins a day and walk about twice a week for an hour...that's it! all the rest is eating extremely healthy on minimum calories. It's very time consuming, Getting the Gold, Not me... maybe a silver,LOL

Total Weight Lost 101
I've lost 101 pounds! Unreal to me that I've lost that much weight. I've got a long way to
go, but damn it feels good. I'm headed out now to see the back doctor for a epidural in a
few minutes. I'm really nervous about this, but hopefully the injection he's going to give
me will help me with this sciatic pain and I'll be able to stand up for longer than 10 or
15 minutes at a time. I'm so sick of being in constant pain, I hope this helps. Wish
me luck!
Congrats to all that check in today, have a good week. If you want to do this you can do
it. Good luck and stay focused on your goals.
WOW, that's FANTASTICCCCCC!!!!!! Way to go. I'm sur e you look and feel awesome. Good luck at the doctors. 101 pounds lost FOREVER, NEVER to be found again. Great work, keep at it.
Like probably most everyone else, I was glued in front of the televison last night
watching the SuperBowl. I did snack a bit, but kept it realistic. So, all in
all, I am in good shape for the week. My starting date is 12/05/11
I got sick and was not able to work out, but I was able to count my calories and track
all week. My fiance and I counted our calories on Saturday pretty well and also most of
Sunday. For the Super Bowl we made Turkey Chilli and did have some chips and queso but
I served myself small portions and we only made about 1/3 of what we normally would.
This helped us get that taste but not take in the Calories.
The other thing that helped was looking up calories whenever we get tempted to eat
someting bad. You start craving something bad and find out it's 500 calories it really
puts the breaks on !
Favorite Healthy Snacks, I'm keeping Green Apples, Raisins, and Individual Packs of
SunFlower Seeds at my desk.
Sunflower Seeds are great 180 calories in 1 pack but it takes you and hour to eat them.
It's a good desk munchy.
Finally recording a loss, am feeling better now that doctors put me on antibiotics for
ear infections, so this week I'll start some light work outs.

73 Pounds to the Day of Awesomeness
4 pounds lost this week and 69 pounds lost FOREVER. Great work, keep at it. 73 pounds to the day of Awesomeness!!! Go get it!!!
Great job on keeping the munchies down! I know my husband got addicted to sunflower seeds when he was trying to quit smoking. They're good for a lot of things. I'm thinking maybe I should give them a go since I am trying to curb my grazing in the kitchen due to boredom :/
My starting date is Jan. 10, 2011
My group number is 58
My gain for the week is 1 pounds
My total loss on the Jackson's Challenge is 6
I have 94 pounds left to lose to meet the Jackson's
Challenge.
Considering we went out to a dinner party on Saturday and then watched the Super Bowl
yesterday, I think one pound of gain isn't bad. I'll get to it this week. Have a great
week everyone.

(You are in Group 69).

I worked out VERY hard this week and I am a little upset that the scale didnt show that.
I will admit that Saturday I struggled with food and had an odd sleep pattern due to
working an overnight shift, but I still really felt that the scale would love me more. I
went to the gym 2x yesterday to try and counteract the extra calories and do feel sore
today. Hopefully my body will let go and give way mid week and the scale will better
represent last week plus this week next monday.
Have a great week all you Losers!
You still lost a pound, so that's wonderful news! Slow and steady. The scale will catch up soon. Great job!
A loss is a loss and much better than a gain. Nice loss of 1 pound this week and 6.2 pounds lost FOREVER. Great work, keep at it. You're doing awesome!!!
My starting date is 07/04/10.
Well you're in the right place that's for sure. Sorry about your week, but you are doing the right thing by coming here to fix it. Good luck this week. You can do this!! Look how far you've come!?

The scale and I are no longer on speaking terms. It's a filthy liar. I've been working
really darn hard and it can go jump off a cliff. I'm not sure that I'll weigh in next week
or if I'm going to just keep loyally tracking and forget about the scale for a while. I
have all sorts of dirty names to call it. I think a big part of my problem is I'm not
getting enough water. I'll try to make that my goal this week.
Stick with it... sounds like we are in similar spots with working out tush off and the scale icking on our wow. If you dont weigh in it really is no big deal as long as you keep doing what you know you need to. Have you measured your inches? Sometimes you can see it there and then the scale really cant get you down.
That Poopy Scale! What does it know? Of course, MY scale knew that I had nachos and chicken and beer and puff pastries while watching the Super Bowl, so called me on it this morning. You've come so far already. Keep at it and things will balance off. I've been at this for over a year and I'm still hoping to get to the 10 pounds lost mark. But I clearly wasn't working out for most of that time. You, on the other hand, are doing the right things and that darn scale will smarten up eventually. Hang in there. You'll do this!!
Heather
Our friend, the *$&#^@#% scale isn't the only way to measure our success. Other ways are by coming here and continuing, our measurements, how our clothes feel, measurements, etc. etc. We are in this together and making our lives healthier and making ourselves stronger. 40.4 pounds lost FOREVER is awesome. Great work, keep at it.
don't panic! It's only a temporary condition krobertson89, Stay cool...and great job on 40.4 Lbs loss so far!
Oh wow I was laughing my ass about the things you said about the scale. You have come so far... You know you can do this. I think you just recently came back to the challange (?) so it may just be your body readjusting to the new changes. I don't know if you have, but others suggested checking to see if you lost some inches.
Good luck to you this week.

time around I'll just face the music and weigh in tomorrow. If I write it here that I'll weigh in tomorrow, then I'll actually weigh in
tomorrow. Thanks and GO PATRIOTS!

Today we had little time so we had to go out for lunch while we were running errands. Buffalo Wild wings sounded great to both of us. The wings were (of course) calling my name but I knew I should do better. So I had the grilled chicken wrap. Really, not a bad choice. BUT THEN! I started to eat and I started to feel full (OMG, I've NEVER noticed that before while eating) SO! I decided to get a box and put half away for later. Never in my former life(s) would I have done that. Lead to having a fairly light lunch. Yeah for good decisions. I rocked it today.
That's great!!...I do the same thing, I can only eat half and take home the rest for Later the Same Day or the next day...It is funny! My wife just said to me the other Day did You Have Your stomach stapled!!,,,LOL
I finally did it
, I finally broke that lousy plateu. I kept going back and forth between 207
and 213, now I am at 203!!!!!!!!!!! 2 more pounds and I will have lost 90 pounds. I
know this isn't the day to weigh in, but I had to tell someone. I am so excited. I am
just praying I don't gain anything this weekend. My mom (Sherdawg53142) and I are
planning on going to the gym both days, so hopefully that will help keep us from
overeating with it being Superbowl weekend. Have fun everyone and thank you for this
site.
That's awesome! The weight seems to come off much slower, the more you lose. Congrats on being so close to the hundred pound goal and breaking thru your barrier.
Great job! You should be so proud of yourself! It's got to be awesome too getting so close to being under 200... I'm excited for you! Keep doing what you're doing!
Thank you. I am just praying I haven't jinxed it. I did what would normally be impossible for me, and that is not eating any of the cupcakes that I made for the Superbowl party today. That was not easy, but I went down another pound and don't want to gain an ounce back. Normally I gain between and pound or 3 over the course of a weekend. I hit the gym pretty good both days
. Have a great week.

I would like to join this group. Though I have more than 100 pounds to lose, 100 pounds
is a good place to start. In January, at my heaviest, I weighed 411.1 pounds. Today I
weighed in at 381. This has been a nice start, but I know it's a pace I will not be
able to keep - and I am ok with that; I am in this for the long haul.
From here out I will weigh in on Mondays.
Congratulations on losing that much so far!! It's always nice to see the pounds shed quickly at first, even if it does slow down later. Just as long as you don't let yourself get discouraged if you hit a plateau.

Welcome! Log all your food, watch portion sizes and weigh in here every Monday and let's lose together!!
Here's a question that's probably been answered a million times: what is the significance of the groups?
I find that the folks here and the "100+ Pounds to Lose" are very supportive and encouraging as I go along this journey. Weighing in each week keeps me accountable-I hate to post a gain!
There are folks in my "real" life who need to lose weight, and many even talk about it, but here folks are doing something about it and hanging around them (even if it is only virtually) helps keep me on track. In addition, I am the one of the biggest guys in my circle of acquaintances, but here, I'm only average, and that means they understand some of the unique problems us larger folks face.
Hope this answers what you were asking...

Happy Friday everyone! What are your plans for the weekend? What are you doing for the big
game? Any advice you can share on how to make it through a Super Bowl party without
drowning in nachos? I will be attached to a crock pot filled with delicious turkey chili.
Also found an interesting article that I thought I could share...
www.precisionnutrition
.com/all-about-body-type-eating
Just planning to keep on track and enjoy myself, no particular plans. Fortunately my family parted ways with TV, and thus football, many years ago, so no plans on that side either. Although, we probably will have a big dinner on Sunday, since my brother will be over.
I'll be watching the Patriots win the Super Bowl! i made a huge batch of turkey chilli a few weeks back & froze enough for big game, I'll make some fresh and healthy appetizers on Saturday so I can relax and cheer for my team. TGIF to JC.
I'll be at a K9 exhibition with my dog on Saturday and Just watching the game on Sunday with a couple of the retired guys off the force. I don't care who wins just want to see a good game
I went to see a nutritionist on Wednesday, and I was amazed she told me I was doing everything perfect! She also said that out of every person she's ever seen in the last 18 years of being a nutritionist that no one had ever came into her office with as much documentation/information pretaining to there over all diet/weight loss as me! Seriously, I track and document everything. Weight, execise, calories burned, times, hours slept, I have monthly totals, averages, changes, everything... Just a massive amount of info. She told me to not change anything, to keep doing exactly what I'm doing. Was awesome.
Then Thursday I went and had a MRI done so they could rule out anything besides what they "thought" was the problem with my back/leg (sciatic nerve pain). It's a little worse then what they thought, as in they're going to give me a epidural on Monday. I'm very nervous about that. I also for the first time ever got the nerve up to go walking around my neighborhood.
Today I picked up my MRI results and then dropped them off at my PT's office. Then hit the gym for an hour and 20 minutes with my trainer. Holy hell I did more the last few days than I had done all of last year before starting my journey.
As of today I'm down 99 pounds! I told my trainers and they laughed all evil and said they'd sweat that out of me today, so maybe by Monday will be the day I hit the 100 pounds lost mark. I'm a little excited, more than I thought I would be, but I'm really looking forward to getting under 300. That's when I'll know that this is really happening.
Have a good weekend guys! Don't forget why you're doing this... Those that are going to watch the game or not, don't lose focus this weekend! I think about how much it'll suck to have to crawl here on Monday and post a gain because I lost control for 2 lousy days! Forget that! I want this more than I want a twinkie!

Sodium - again
posted by leevanscoy on 7:46 am
So I was concerned about my sodium intake & I just read that potassium helps your body flush sodium. I also read that lima beans, orange juice and baked potatoes have more potassium than bananas. Unfortunately, orange juice and baked potatoes have too high a glycemic index and I don't like lima beans! There's probably plenty of potassium in my multivitamin. So I decided to start adding a banana to my diet daily and start buying low sodium soup base. That should help.
by EJMM on Feb 12, 2012 at 8:02 am
Sounds like a plan...but getting Potassium naturally is the best way...I love Avocados, also I found a site that would help... http://www.healthaliciousness.com/articles/food-sources-of-potassium.php
by leevanscoy on Feb 12, 2012 at 8:50 am
Thanks! Two of my favorite foods are good sources of potassium - avocados and salmon. I eat salmon at least twice a week and 1/2 avocado almost every day. 1/2 an avocado has as much potassium as a banana - I didn't ralize that. I wish avocados didn't have so many @%$# calories!
