Hello everyone!!!! I am a mom to 2 beautiful little girls.....6 & 9. I am getting ready to turn 45 and am a single mom with a crazy schedule. I work as a 911 dispatcher and have a rotating schedule...that combined with the eating habits of my kids and their grandparent/babysitters who live with us I need support from somewhere else. Would love suggestions from others who have eating and exercise challenges too. I just moved my gym membership to Planet Fitness so I can go anytime so hoping that will help. I have 40 lbs to lose.
Hi and welcome, I turn 44 this year and with having a 2 year old I am really working to get back into health. I have a constrained time allowed for work outs but have incorperated excercise into daily activites. My two year old will stretch with me when I do stretchs in commercial breaks on tv or we walk through a show on Nick Jr. I am finding creative ways to bring fitness to all of us in my house.
I know I just said this on one of the last posts but I just think it's very important to say...Diet and exercise is mostly diet. The way you eat will effect all parts of your body(especially the belly) and your works outs. A flat tummy is made in the kitchen(that's what the free & practical exercise advice group trainer says) Good luck on your goals! Oakleafmeg, I think it's wonderful you're getting your 2yr old involved in your workouts. It's so important for children to learn the importance of healthy eating habits and exercise. I have all girls too, Siouxz39, and with the way the world is today growing up our little women with healthy body images is very important. Hope your reach your goals and then some! God Bless!

The tummy is about 80% diet. How you eat will show up in the belly(especially for us mommy's). Eat well, very well, get some cardio in to lose the extra fat, and then just standard crunches are always great. I also enjoy heels to the heavens. Lay on your back, legs straight up in the air and lift them straight up the ceiling. You can leave your head laying on the floor or slighting raise it. I like to raise it. Hope this helps! I'm not quite there with my belly after my last baby though. It's taking my waaayyy longer this time around. Good Luck on your progress!

Hi Everyone - I'm a working mom with a 5 and 3 year old. I was doing well from Jan to Feb, then I got sick and slammed with several major deadlines at work. I was getting more sleep, more exercise, eating healthier. I now have more major deadlines to meet, and I want to do it with more balance than the last go around. But not exactly sure how. I know I'll figure it out, but if you have any advice, please let me know! Hope you are all doing well in your own worlds!
I have been there, and found that I had to realisticaly use a planner and be honest with myself about portioning my time. I always made time for me time to allow me to unwind. Finding a healty stress relief whether its excercise, meditation, writing in a journal, or snuggling with the kids will help you overcome the stress of deadlines. And always remember to breathe. sounds easy but I used to get so worked up when dealing with deadline that I would forget to breathe properly and then give myself headaches. I hope that things level out for you.
Thank you so very much! It's really helpful to hear that I'm not alone, and thank you so much for your suggestions. I totally agree re: breathing. I always tell others breathe in the good, breathe out the bad, but I, too, forget to do it myself :) Postiive vibes back at you!
I know exactly how that is. I'm a CPA with huge deadlines every quarter and I have an 18 month old and a 3 year old. It's really hard to make time for me because I just think about all the things that need to be done. I guess you just have to get into the mindset that if you don't take care of yourself how are you going to take care of everyone else. Good luck!!
