Hi all! I'm back after a long long abscence. I'm not really sure how many miles I can do in the month. I'm a swimmer primarily. And by that I mean that I'm increadibly overweigh and out of shape and swimming is the only exercise that I've found that -enjoy- doing, and I just looked up the conversion from meters to miles. Yikes! One mile is 40 laps in the pool I use. So going to shoot for the minutes goal and try to do 1 mile in the pool a week. Fun times ahead!
Hey all:
Sorry for the delay in writing a post. I know you were all waiting patiently. So I did
another 10.3 miles on the bike on saturday (its a stationary bike MrsShady) in 45
minutes my legs were pretty much out of it. Considering since I got to this weight
I haven't biked three days in a row in a long long long time (no I'm not the crypt
keeper.) My day off Sunday was a killer because Saturday night I went to my buddies
birthday party and well, lets just say I went a little bit nuts, but not with food (and
nothing illegal either). Anyhow after spending half the day on Sunday feeling like Mike
Tyson and Muhammed Ali used my stomach as a speed bag, I'm actually ready to rip off
another 7 miles on the bike tonight. I have a feeling by the end of next week I will be
way over the 100 mile mark in a month Woohoo! :)
The Crypt Keeper. Very funny. Boy did that bring back some long "buried" memories... *cough* Sounds like you're pedaling your way to glory. I may have to try stationary biking it today for my own workouts. Not sure my achilles tendon is going to let me do much on the treadmill today. Keep us posted of your progress. T.

Wow, I've never thought up something as 100 miles, it does seem far, but then you hear the
month-long time one has and It definitely seems possible. I'm at 14 starting this
month.
9 miles Elliptical
2 miles treadmill
3 miles Bike
It's time to Go!
Morning! Welcome to our new miler! Good for you.... What I have learned from everyone else is.... just keep on going! Mrsshady, I really hope you are feeling better... that if you have a cold it does not linger on... You got snow???? . One day of clean eating done. Today is a new day. Would like to be able to post this again for tomorrow. Thoughts: Glenda, are you hiking today in beautiful weather? Marco, using you as inspiration today. I don't like skipping/resting a day, for me, it makes it easier to skip another, BUT!!! Following your example, am getting on the treadmill at 8:00 am... hope to keep one step a head of that bear! Tony, how are those legs??? At our Suschi restaurant, a moving family gifted their huge fish for the "viewing, not eating " tank. It is beautiful and friendly for a fish! Thinking of Tony, I laugh, cos I stare at those Sushi chefs with their knives, and tell them, LEAVE ThAT BABY ALONE!!! Have a great day, everyone!! Wynne
Morning Wynne. Liked the story about the sushi restaurant. We've got a large fishtank in our livingroom. It's like moving art, very peaceful. I put in five miles yesterday walking. But, my legs are still sore and I may take today off, or go down to the gym and get on a stationary bike for some low impact exercise. I totally understand the time consuming nature of paper grading. Hang in there. If you drop a day, don't look over your shoulder, just start the next morning as if it's the first. At least, this kind of self delusion seems to work pretty well for me, so far. Tony.
Thank you Wynne. We had about 5-6 inches of snow and crazy strong winds. I feel a tiny bit better than yesterday, however my energy level is very low and found myself snacking on sweets again for the third day in a row! Regardless, I am working out tonight, with my trusty inhaler beside me. :)
take good care, since I have been sick, I have been using an inhaler, and it really helps. I am still not well. I have been doing well with my miles, but my energy is way low. Today is my second day of eating well. A miracle. I even made Glenda's "mock cocktail" and I love it. I really need to thank her. Msshady, you take good care.... you have that baby to mind... nite, Wynne

Happy Weekend everyone! So far its been a good week, though I am having a horrible sweets
craving tonight! 6 days into my 100 mile challenge for this month and have managed to get
in 22 mile. Not bad for a Newbie I think. I have been hitting the gym in the mornings
Elliptical, treadmill, bike, and even some weight training. I have a Question though,
seems like my scales have hit a stand still. I have lost 24 pounds and am pretty sure I
shouldn't be at a plateau yet. I was wondering if it might be from all the exercise. Well,
Blessing to all..Susan
78 miles to go
960 min. to go
Hey, welcome! Sounds like you're off to a great start with 22 miles underneath your belt already! As far as your plateau goes, there are probably better people to answer this around here but I'd suggest looking carefully at your water intake. Make sure you're getting enough water, particularly when you're losing extra through exercise. I know it seems counterintuitive but I've noticed that when I've hit a few days when the scale seems to be going in the wrong direction, it's almost always seemed to be low water intake. In fact, I wish they'd let us chart that along with calories and weight. In any case, welcome to the group. I joined recently too and they've been great about helping me stay engaged.
Hi Susan, I have a problem with craving sweets as well. I keep Orbit White Bubblemint gum in my candy dish and next to my desk. Two pieces of gum are only 5 calories. It seems to help. I concur with Tony's recommendation of drinking more water. In addition, eat more veggies. For some reason water and veggies go hand in hand with weight loss. And I am going to take the same advice. I was whining yesterday about my weight loss slowing down and Tony offered some words of advice...worthy of a post-it-note. Hang in there Susan.
Hello, all.... I did not exercise today... (STONE Me!) I graded papers all day. I had to pay very close attention to my eating today. Made a roasted chicken for dinner ( my snow dinner, but there was nada snow) only ate the chicken breast, cauliflower, some cranberry sauce and a glass of wine. Yesterday, for some reason, again, I blew it. I get through the whole day, exercised, ect, and then, Why? I have no idea. Again, reading all of your missives inspire me, make me laugh, and encourage me to start again. Another thing I meant to tell you all about my old notebook cover. There was another bit of advice I had taped on there. It reads, "Practice Self Care." Practice SELF CARE. PRACTICE. Sounds like a plan. Will be on the treadmill tomorrow..... Nighty Nite! Wynne
Does not appear to me that you need to be stoned at all. Chicken, cauliflower, cranberry sauce and wine...all good choices. I am not following the (Weight Watchers) WW program right now, but the one thing I learned...nothing is off limits. Don't eat more then the calories that you are allowed to have, but don't cut out food groups either. You may need to adjust your caloric intake, if you are not seeing a weight loss. And don't just practice self care, do it! We get one shot at this wonderful life...we don't get do overs. Take care of yourself, love yourself and feed yourself good food. Wynne is a precious part of our group, so you have to take care of her.
I am feeling really good about the number of miles I have been hiking (on weekends) and walking on the treadmill (on week days). I have only lost 1.4 pounds this month. I am staying under the number of calories that I should eat each day and I am burning 500 calories per workout. I know the weight loss will slow down as I get closer to my goal weight, but it is still a little frustrating. I want to succeed.
Glenda. Five hundred calories per workout is excellent! You must be getting your heart rate up there to be burning so many and that's super! And congrats for staying under your calorie goals. 1.4 lbs may not seem like much but it's still moving in the right direction. What was that line from Star Wars, the original one, when they're flying down the trench toward the Death Star's weak point? "Stay on target... Stay on target!" Of course, the guy that says that gets blown up, if I recall correctly, but I doubt Darth Vader's gonna be coming after you and the message seemed to work in the end. :-) Stay on target. It sounds like you're getting closer to that goal! Tony
Thursday: 2.25 miles on the treadmill for C25K- 35 minutes, Zumba- 45
minutes,Squats/Crunches- 10 minutes
Friday: 2 mile walk with my son, mom and sister- 35 minues, dancing and squats/lunges- 15
minutes
So 85.75 Miles and 775 minutes to go as of Friday night.
Planning on getting in at least 3 miles and 60+ minutes today :)
Splurged on a bunch of sweets last evening and had a few mini chocolate bars this morning.
Why? I have no idea other than my hubby was munching on them. Grocery trip this evening to
pick up more healthy snacks and meal components. Have a great day!

Hey all:
So I started off like a toddler learning to walk on my bike tonight. But right around
the 15 minute mark my inner drill sargent (not that I've actually enlisted in the military
although I did watch full metal jacket a few times) started calling me all kinds of names
that would/ve made a sailor blush. The next thing I know my legs started moving like
pistons in diesel engine and I just took off (according to the bike I was traveling at a
max of 15.5 miles per hour with the occasional drop to 13 miles per hour for the final 15
minutes). And I shot all the way to a finish of 6.6 total miles. Tying my second best
distance in 30 minutes time. I'm kind of jazzed to hit the bike tomorrow and see what kind
of damage I can do in 45 minutes.. Hey bike be afraid! be very afraid :)
Hello all, if you don't hear from me this weekend it is because I spilled my soda on my lap top aldsjkfsadjfosadjfsadjflsdjflasjf!!!!!! and it wasn't working this morning. I typed to you all from work.... I am hoping it dried out today while I was here! Trusting all is well with everyone..... Blessings, Wynne
Tony, that was hysterical. GOOD GRIEF ( YUP!!!!) I enjoyed reading it! Can you walk today???!!! I don't think I would have gotten through it. Okay, Marco, this is a bit easier on the angles! BIG hello to everybody! I counted my miles for far this month and GUESS WHAT??? 65! I may be still gaining and loosing the same pounds, but am smiling thinking, I am doing this!! Hello to Glenda and Mrsshady, have a great day everyone, hopefully the snow tomorrow will be only a dusting.... Wynne

Yesterday was hard. Had to squeeze in
a workout at the gym. Mostly a little work on the cable machines (easy for one person
without a lifting partner). I focused on my legs, thinking that would be safe. Then, today
I came in for one of my rare sessions with a trainer... ugh. Wrong call. We spent the
entire hour working on legs. Ever see a grown man try not to cry and pretend the water
running down his face is sweat rather than tears? Oh... not good. I felt like a cat that
has made a huge blunder when calculating a jump and slammed disastrously into a wall in
front of an audience. I walked (read "limped") from the rec center with my head
up, pretending I wasn't listing to the ride side like the Titanic in its death throes.
Anyway, this evening is better and tomorrow is another day... Onward!
Very funny Tony. I love it. Keep posting! Sadly, misery loves company and it's great to hear that sometimes it's a struggle to complete a workout. I am playing the "middle aged woman" card a lot as an excuse not to push myself too hard. But I know I need to start lifting weights. The notes from all of you are encouraging.
Hi all,
Did my 6.2 miles in 30 minutes on the bike again tonight.. My legs are cursing me right
now but they'll get over it. Tomorrow night is going to be a challenge just to get on the
bike but I'm a man possesed so i'll probably find my bike hiding from me for a change :)
Anyway hope everyone has a great night see you all tomorrow night and keep those posts
coming!
Hi Tony and Marco, I can also relate to leg pain due to all the exercise. I am stumbling around a lot because my legs feel so fatigued most of the time. However, like most people, we don't get enough exercise at our jobs, so we have to supplement with a strenuous workout crammed into an hour or so. Keep up the good work. Marco, love the visual of your bike hiding from you...you are so clever.

When I post from my spouse's computer, nothing happens. Two mornings in a row I have sent
you all hello's. Sorry! WELL, Glenda, I am THRILLED about your car! Your loose
pants...Woo HOO! And Archangel, going to work, I kept seeing you on a bike, looking behind
you with the wind blowing, and a bear trying to bite your butinksi, yet YOU kept
yourself peddling JUST out of his jaws! I have been laughing cos I am teaching angles
this week, and I keep typing, "Archangle!!" I think I am the only one exercising and
gaining weight. Well, I am NOT stopping. It has been 50 degrees in Connecticut, and
Glenda, you will be thrilled to know that I have gone hiking twice after work. Also, I
have been laughing thinking about Mrsshady. My gosh, she is YOUNG!! (and good for you,
mrshady!!! I wish I had your energy! Your relatives will be astounded! ) Now, Tony, how
be you?? Tonite at school, we had this illustrator come and he was great. My 5th grade
boys who love to draw came with their parents, and we all sat together. I fear there goes
my curriculum for the rest of the year! I am going to snooze early. I just wanted to check
in and say hi. Treadmilling awaits tomorrow morning..... Nite, all.... Wynne
LOL I'm glad I can provide some comic relief Wynne :) I like the "Not Stopping" attitude and thats how you should go at it too :) Just keep stacking up those miles and you'll find it easier and easier to do more. Just remember to reward yourself every once in awhile thats what works for me (everyone is different of course).
I look forward to your next posting! Archangel aka Marco :)
At last, ArchAngel has a name. Hello Marco, I have to tell that I wondered what your first name was and also MrsShady's first name. It's okay not to share, but we are after all, family (a family of bloggers). Wynne, I am so proud of you and the way that you are focused on exercise. When you are ready, you are going to have to look into what you are eating that's keeping the weight on. Sometimes, it's not how much you eat, but what you eat. You've been through a lot already this year with being sick, back and hamstring pain and each step forward is a postive step. I don't want you to keep gaining. Because losing weight and feeling comfortable in your cloths feels so good. You will find your niche.
So far I have walked or hiked 37 miles this month. I have lost a total of 14.2 pounds (since January 2nd) and have just 1.4 pounds more to go before I am 150 pounds. For my age and height my reported healthy BMI is to weigh between 135 and 150. I will be at the high end of it, but I am really focused on getting there. So I will keep my eye on the prize...being within my healthy BMI range. I am a wee bit discouraged that I have only lost 1.0 pounds in February, but I will try not to focus on it. Like MrsShady, my cloths fit better and my husband is noticing the positive changes in me. I got a call about my car from the mechanic. He said they only needed to replace the computer that runs the transmission (or at least that's what it sounded like to me), the transmission does not need to be replaced. Yahoo! I pick the car up tomorrow. Thanks for the sweet notes and well wishes regarding my car Wynne. Glenda
Jumped on the scale for my daily body test on Wii Fit and I saw that I had dropped the
0.2 pounds I had gained the day before...putting me right back at 147. I have noticed that
my pants are looser however and intend to do my total body measurements so I can keep
track of the inches and not just the pounds. Did Zumba last night for 45 minutes then did
50 pushups, 60 squats, and 20 crunches. We had company when I came home from Zumba so I
didn't get my other workout in . Totals as of last night: 90 Miles and 870 minutes to
go!
Today I am doing some laundry (lots of running up and down the stairs since our hamper is
on the 2nd floor and our washer and dryer is in the basement), housecleaning and
bodyweight exercises with my son (airplane lifts, squats, short bridges) and dancing
around the house to hear him squeal and laugh. :) Treadmill workout for Day 3 of C25K and
60 minutes of strength and cardio during my little man's afternoon nap.
Have a great day!

I accomplished my goal tonight and actually overachieved a little (there's a first). I managed to get 7.3 miles out of my legs in exactly 30 minutes! woohoo! I had to pedal like a rabid bear was chasing me but I dug deep (as the sports saying goes) and pushed hard. It takes me a little while to get into something but once I'm focused on it, its not easy for me to just give up especially when your seeing it writen on a piece of yellow paper. I also want to take a second to thank all of you who have been my mini cheering section. It truely helps to see someone who's in a similiar situation know what your thinking and what your going through to push forward so thank you all. If my 5'6" stubborn italian american butt can do it, you all can too! Tomorrow is my off day so I won't be writing a post about myself but I will be responding to your posts so keep up the good work and remember DON'T QUIT. :)
OMG! This is the second time this week, I have had to get out of my office chair and do a "happy dance" for someone. Archangel, your posts make me laugh. Since I hike in the mountains, I try not to think about rabid bears, but I am happy that one chased you to complete 7.3 miles. Enjoy your day off!
hello to you all... I guess we have formed our own 911 squad.. I thank you all so much! for as long as we encourage, stay committed and talk to one another I have a good feeling we will succeed on some level.. Everytime I read an email from you all, I smile. I look forward to it. Glenda, like you said, when I exercise, I think of all of you, Glenda, ( her car) her minutes and her hiking, Archangel and his miles on the bike, I am so impressed, Tony and the fish! Msshady pushing that baby bug up and down hills..Tony~ Do you really go on Saturdays and Sundays and feed those babies? Good for you!!! I have a rabbit at work.. The cutest and gentlest rabbit ever... EVERYBODY, Tony, I have a story for you all about a fish.. mrsshady, cos Glenda and I know babies. We know. inside and outside, we smile. For the guys, babies are the best. Hang strong. It is when they grow up that you desire your own apartment! Good nite, all. Today was a plus on the calendar... Hope it was also for all of you. One day at a time. Wynne
30 minutes on the bike doing interval training and got 6.1 miles out of myself last night.. Lets see if I can swing 7 miles in 30 minutes tonight.. EYE OF THE TIGER! :)
Archangel, , no lie, you are rockin! 30 minutes at 6.1? What a wow! I am a 5'2 peanut, well, a chubby one, and in my dreams, my short legs are staring ( in a gog) saying, YOU GO, but moma, you HIDE!! Be happy for yourself... I stand amazed... I am really happy today. GLENDA? Are you there? Well, I got up 5:15, did my 3 miles, and then, (I think smile) I went for a hike after work and hiked 2 hikes! Not high ones... yet mildly up and down... but by reservoirs and lakes... I was pushed to find the trails myself, which I didn't like, but when I did it, I enjoyed myself. The weather here in Connecticut has been 50 degrees these last few days... so I am loving these walks. The sunlight is amazing. It is no longer dark at 4:30! I love this. It was glorious. For all, where I hiked today, in the summer, I would love to pack a dinner and wine, sit on a huge boulder and eat (healthy, cocktail, and view the most beautiful site around...) and just smile. So far today, no weigh in, but exercised, counted my calories... and hoping. That Superbowl Sunday made me mad. I should have stayed home and yada'd with Tony. I am done eating for this evening. Dinner for everyone else is a waiting.. Glenda, when I work out and post.. I also think of you, Archangel, Mrsshady, Tony ( and his fish, which I have a funny story for) as well. I need to pay attention to new people, but you guys are my #911 squad and I am so thankful.... Lots of laughter, Wynne....
Better- My little man is finally feeling better and has been fever free for over 12
hours for the first time in 5 days
Good- I squeezed in W1D2 of C25K last night as well as a little walking, 3
minutes of Wii Hula Hoop and 5 minutes of Wii Advanced Step Not so good- After working a
half day, taking my son to the dr and spending 1 1/2 hours there as we waited for
his fever to come down, and waiting for prescriptions I picked up a large sausage pizza
from Domino's for supper. I made up salads for my hubby and I and was planning on eating
one piece but ended up eating 2 pieces of the pizza. I felt miserable afterwards- bloated
with a stomach ache. Definitely realizing that my body feels much better with healthy
food! Today: Making better
food chocies (other than the 3 TBS serving of Chocolate and PB stripes Goober), going to
my 45 minute Zumba workout and doing at least another 30 minutes of exercise plus drinking
at least 64 oz water. Hoping to be back on track weight wise by tomorrow. Hope everyone is
having a good day!
As of last night...90 miles and 925 miles to go!
Yahoo...the baby is better. I can relate to planning on a small slice of pizza and eating two (or more) and totally regretting it. It happens, try to learn from it. You are really doing a great job with your exercise program.
Hello to all of you. I posted last nite, but don't see it. I had a Superbowl situation.
Even with the veggie platter. I was okay at the party, but when I got home..... Why? Who
knows. If you read my message that I cannot find, I am going to repeat myself. I started
again. Listening to Glenda, I retrieved my journal from 2005 when I lost the 100
pounds. Just like she said, I had noted things. What I ate, exercised, good day or bad
day, successes... even bathroom. (too much info!) Wine, martini's (my favorite) but, most
of all I saw PLANNING. (mrshady) I PLANNED my meals, my exercising. I kept TRACK. I did
not give up after bad days even if I did not believe I would ever lose one pound. I just
kept going. I read the journal. There were WEEKS when nothing really changed. Yet, I was
in a routine, and then, I would read a DROP in weight,.
So I decided to stop weighing myself for a while (now, that is an addiction so it is
horrifying for me) because when I see that my weight is down, I give myself permission to
slide and not just during a special occaision. What did my notebook say to me on the
cover? 1. Don't let your brain hijack your rear end! 2. Call upon your #911 Squad....
HEY, THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE TO ME... Practice SELF CARE>>>>>> I
will talk to you all later.... Miss YOU ALL.... Blessings, Wynne
hey Wynne,
Yes! no staring at the scale everyday, you'll go craaaaazy. Thats what I did at the beginning myself and I made myself nuts too. Just get in a routine like you said and the weight will come off. :)
Wynne, it's good to see that you have a plan to tackle the weight. Are you using the MyPlate section on this web site? It is extremely helpful. I love having a place to keep track of what I eat. Since I have been known to pop things in my mouth whether I am hungrey or not, it's nice to know what the calories are. Plan the meal and write down the calories before you eat it, to keep from going over your caloric intake. WW says to "Write, before you bite." I have a scale addiction so can not coach you on how to weigh responsibly. Keep going, you have had a few stumbling blocks this year and yet you are still moving forward. I am so proud of you.

LIke Wynne, I gained a little weight after the super bowl party. Everybody there said they noticed I had lost weight and that I looked good. That was really encouraging. While I was at the party, there was a platter of chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting...my favorite. I ate one when nobody was looking...I did not want to give the appearance that I had no will power, so I ate it when I was alone in the kitchen. I think ArchAngel would call that an Epic episode. The good news is, I am still walking everyday and tracking my calories. I've walked 27 miles so far this month and feel pretty good about it. I have to deal with my cravings.
So I was supposed to get on the bike on friday, but this time Mr. mass transit decided to keep me stuck between train stations for about 45 minutes.. (welcome to new york city where the transit works whenever it feels like it.) So that threw me for a loop and I decided okay, I'll just get moving on saturday no problem.. Ha! Unfortunately for me the mini devil on my right shoulder convinced me to stay off the bike. Which brings me to Sunday after 4 consecutive days off the bike.. (i'm keeping track of each day on a yellow pad) and actually seeing it written on my yellow pad that i did nada for 4 days. I gave myself a good talking to and jumped on my bike like a madman and pedaled like I was going to win a race. 10. 5 miles later in 45 minutes I was done and needless to say pretty happy with myself. Now lets see if this carries over to tonight..
Hey, excellent work! I think you're right. Seeing it written down make a huge difference. Way to bounce back!
ArchAngel, I have a calendar that I write on. If there is a blank day (which means I did not exercise), it really bugs me. I also draw a little wine glass on the days when I have a drink. I can see my weight fluctuate (I can't spell that word) when I am missing workouts and making poor food choices. Extremely happy to hear about the epic come back. You got back in the (bike) saddle again.

100 Miles and 1200 min.
HI! I am so excited about making and meeting a challenge with you all! I found this site a
few years ago and had actually forgotten about it until a couple days ago. I recently
started a diet plan...Doctors orders....and I have lost some weight not sure on the exact
# yet I go tom. to weigh in. I know its at least 20 pounds though. HOWEVER, I need to
lose around 75-100 total. I have been reading some of your post and decided this was
definently the group for me. You all seem very positive and friendly. Looking forward to
sharing this experience with some people with common goals in mind. Be Blessed! ...Susan
Welcome! Congrats on the weight loss so far! Let us know how you are doing. I do the "Lose Weight" dare here on Livestrong just to show my progress. Best of luck! :)
Yes, welcome. Glad to have you hear. Like you, I first started visiting this site a couple of years ago. At the time it didn't really catch on with me until I realized that I HAD to lose some of the weight I've been putting on. Glad you made it back and found us. I'm new here, as well, and the "crew" has been wonderfully supportive.
Hi Susan, welcome to our little group of bloggers. You have found a happy group to join. I have to tell you guys, Wynne, Tony, ArchAngel, MrsShady, I think about you guys when I am exercising in the morning and I can't wait until after dinner to log in my calories and see if any of you have posted. It means a lot to me to hear from all of you; your struggles, your successes, etc.
Its been a rough couple of days with my little man as he has been running a fever for
the last 3 days. As a result, I haven't worked out much. Yesterday I did go for a brisk
2.1 mile walk- 30 minutes and did 30 minutes of strength training with a tiny bit of yoga
on the wii. I did see a loss of .7 pounds bringing me down to 147- only 18 more to
go!
So far today I haven't gotten any workout in unless you count scrubbing the tub, giving my
son a couple of lukewarm baths, and doing laundry. I am hoping to at least get in a short
workout this evening after I put my son to bed but that will depend on how he is doing.
Sick baby definitely comes first.
I made good food choices today- Light high fiber english muffin with PB and banana plus
skim milk for breakfast, high fiber and protein wrap filled with tuna, hot and sweet
mustard, hard boiled eggs, carrots and cucumbers plus indulged my sweet tooth a bit with a
tiny spoonful of nutella and 1/4 of a Godiva chocolate truffle bar. Need to up my water
intake but I am pretty pleased. Have a great evening and hope to post a good workout
tomorrow!
Sorry to hear about your sick child. I konw what that's like. And, regardless of what else is going on in life, they definitely come first when they're ill. Get that water down and great workout!
Tony, Glenda, and.... where is Archangel and MrsShady? I felt stupid saying so, but now
I am glad that I shared, because I am hearing it from you as well. I already had a panic
attack about all of the food I will see soon. I did buy a veggie platter, and am
bringing my KNTTING to hold on to. I am an AWFUL KNITTER, and it is the joke of all who
know me!!! I made for dinner last nite.... soup. Low fat chicken broth,
chicken sausage, escorole, mushrooms, canalinni beans and onions. Woke up this morning 3
pounds heavier. I am so mad. My stomach is sticking out. I walked 17 miles this week
and I am three pounds UP. So that makes me upset. No matter what happens tonight,
tomorrow is another day.
My coughing is what has happened to my back. I am on three meds for wheezing and coughing.
LOL's, my hamstring feels better.... Okay, friends, take good care and I will check in
tomorrow. Thanks for all of the encouragement. Tony? I am off to pack some PICKLES!!!!
Glenda, I am proud of your pho cocktail. I am promising myself only ONE healthy vodka.
Wynne
Sounds like it might just be sodium retention from your yummy sounding soup last night. I would try to guzzle water and just look forward to a lower number on the scale the next time. :)
Wynne, when weight comes on that fast, it usually is water retention. I concur with MrsShady. Since confession is good for the soul, I was up (weight wise) myself today. The cheeto bowl was right in front of me. I got up to move it into the kitchen and the host of the sb party asked where I was going with it. So I put it back down...and nibbled on them the rest of the night. I hate to be rude!
I was invited to SB party today but realized after I accepted that a) I don't really care about the game (sorry if there are giants or patriot fans), and b) there was going to be wayyyy too much food there for me to be able to resist with any comfort. And, as some of you have already discussed, much of that food will be total junk. I decied to call and uninvite myself and will just watch the event out of hte corner of my eye while snacking on fresh fruit and pickles. I didn't realize that dill pickle halves only have 5 calories each. Now, if only they didn't have so much sodium. Ah well. Hope you're all doing well. I need to work my walking in today around multiple loads of laundry. Oh, and Wynne, so very sorry to hear about your pain. I thought I'd mention that I'd been having back and leg problems too with sitting at a desk typing all day. My solution was to get a computer desk that raises and lowers so that I can quickly go between standing and sitting. It's worked out pretty well, and also keeps me fresher during the day. Might be an option for you if other things don't work.
My husband and I got invited to a superbowl party last night. I am really in a panic about the food. I will absolutely take something lower in calories so I have something to eat and of course take my own mocktail ingredients. But finger food is where my will power will be tested. I love appetizers. I would rather eat appetizers then a meal. Anyway...Tony, I am proud of you for bowing out of the SB party so that you can stay on track. I just found out a few weeks ago that pickles had only 5 calories, I couldn't believe it either. Remember to count the calories in folding and putting away the laundry, it all adds up.
