Many many reasons to keep trying.
We want to still be around, and while we are still around we need to be more healthy.
No stroke, No weasing when we move, No heart palpatations.
Keep Moving..... have a bad eating day you are still moving. Get Moving again, no slacking there please.
Set aside an Hour to 2 hours day just for you, and then move your body during that time.
Get the weights out, change up the routine.. hour of aerobics can replace the walk. Something different.
Step aerobics one day, walk the next day... something different.
Been a bad eater step on the scale in the everyother morning. Piss you off enough to stop the eating???
Been making time for myself in the mornings and feels pretty good. Small step but a good one, trying to get to
bed before 10 and wake up every morning at 6 even the weekend - acutally sleeping through the nights more often.

We were just sitting in the living room just before sunset and my niece spotted a lynx walking outside. I've never seen one in the wild before. It was really pretty. SO guess what we do ever night before sunset - yup watching for lynx sighting - the camera is ready just in case there is still enough light to capture it on film.

Hiya, I am still here, had some problems with my old computer but now I have a nice new shiny computer so that I can be online again. How are you? We just had Thanksgiving weekend and it went will - no overeating for me- of course we made dinner so it was easy to have something nice but not way over the top. I'll have to catch up to see what you all have been up to while I was away.
Oh, I got a weigh scale and like the number I saw. Of course it's all probably relative but at least I now have a reference point again.

Still good on the exercise but the eating has fallen by the wayside!! I noticed on the biggest losser last week the kitchen being closed they had a harder time eating right. Wouldn't be nice to have a well stocked kitchen like they have!!!! Even better to have someone to cook it for you ah!!!!!!! Still hanging in there even though I feel defeated. MP

Welcome Back!! You will see that Marlys is still moving along and losing weight - hit a bit of a plateau but moving again.
We are all trying to stay motivated... when you have been on this and doing this a while becomes a bit dull... I think we
still need to adjust to things as a life style change and have not really acomplished that yet.
Winter weather is approaching here in the Northland by Lake Superior and the walks are cool, but acutally the best for
moving fast. Not sure if you get the program Biggest Loser where ever you are now.... but watching for a little inspiration.
Mar the next packer and viking game is on Nov 1 12 oclock. Not sure if on regular tv or not.. but all welcome to watch
that game over here if you want.. Well keep walking and control the forks. Happy Moving,walking etc.

I'm still here. Finally we are in a place for 2 months that has internet. We've spend the last few weeks doing the visiting relatives rounds so it's nice to finally be able to totally unpack our suitcases and relax. Found out that the place has wireless internet so can finally start logging food again. We bought a weigh scale today as there was none in the condo. It will be like starting over again almost since I don't know if the new scale will weight the same as the old one. Guess it's all relative so I'll just start again from tomorrow for weights.
I'll have to catch up on your news tomorrow after a good nights sleep.

Last night had a great evening out. A group of friends had a good-bye dinner that was really yummy. It was a nice surprise.

We do get biggest loser, just started this year, and the season they are showing is the family one. This year they are starting the asia version which will probably be shown in early 2010 as they just are picking the first contests for the show.
So far we don't have any place to move yet, just looking for a new job somewhere. It would be nice to get one in a different country but things are slower because of the whole global downturn. Hopefully something will come up.

Sounds like you had a nice long weekend. Here it was just a normal week. I did get brave and cut off the damaged part of my thumnail so now there is no danger of catching the camage and ripping the nail off anymore. I am a still babing the skin of of thumb. When I am at home, I am leaving the band iad off but when going out, then a band aid goes back on to protect it. I'm not sure if I shoudl cut off the dead skin and if I do cut it, how much should be cut off. For now, it's easier just to put a band aid over the whole mess.. Friday the movers will be here to pick up my toys and we have no idea when we will see our toys again. :-(

Really enjoyed my morning walks this weekend. Last two mornings I have seen a couple of eagles flying around they are really big!!! I also have done alot of gardening this weekend kept myself busy since my husband worked all weekend! Picking up Emily tommorow she will be with us until Thursday. Hope the weather holds out so we can do something fun outside!!! Hope all is well with you Best Day Ever. That earth quake had to be scary! Glad you are safe! How about that thumb? What a Wonderful Weekend

Wow!! wonderful labor day weekend here in the northland. Sunshine every morning and beautiful evenings around the campfire with friends and family.
Stars and the almost full moon shining every night. Cooking on the open fire and singing tunes from the past. I would rate the weekend a 9 out of 10.
Eating not too bad, but lost track a bit on Sunday ad Monday. One Long Island Tea and a couple of tootsie rolls was about as bad as it got. Walked,
Kicke ball for 2 hours, gardening... so some exercise was also included in the past several days.
20 company anniversary this coming Thursday, I have been there 18 of the twenty. Big party on top of the Hill on Thursday to celebrate.
Went to Adams Soccer game friday night and had the Girls with me, we got kicked out almost after I bought the tickets. No Dogs allowed.
So will have to make it to another game, tought because the games start at 4:30.
So let hunker down this week and move, move, move... while the days outside are still nice.
Hope your labor day weekend was a good one, it will be a while now before we have another working Holiday off.

That is a big Quake on the Ricthtor scale. What did you think when you first felt that rumbling and the quake?
How far away are you form the epi center of the quake? Is that common there, quakes I mean - 7.0 is unusal anywhere?

Hiya, 7.0 is not that common, it's quite big. I have checked the earthquake site almost every morning since we moved here since it's such an active area. There are lot's of quakes every week but most are small one. When the quake first hit, I felt a bit dizzy but since I've felt tremors before, I realized what was really happening. It's very strange to feel the building swaying. After the management sent around a note to all the guests and it said that our building is designed for an 8.5 quake. There are other buildings in Jakarta that had cracks in the building so some are not built so well. One thing that we read about in the paper this morning was how people reacted and it's surprising that they did the wrong things. You'd think in an earthquake active region, people would know what to do.
My legs are pretty stiff today from all that walking downstairs yesterday. There has only been 1 aftershock of 4.8, so things are all quiet again. I'l still a bit hypersensitive and notice all the vibrations in the floor like when the fridge is in it's cooling cycle. Here we are safe but the city closest is still cut off due to landslides so aid has not reached them yet. Hopefully it will get there soon.

Earthquake

An earthquake of 7.0 yo 7.4 (depending on report) happened about 90 minutes. I was just about to get changed to exercise but was glad I was still drinking my coffee. We are on the 29th floor an had to walk down as building were evacuated. The tremor was pretty strong and rather unnerving. So know I'm wondering whether or not to start exercising or wait for a while incase of after shocks. Who needs exercise, this quake certain got my heart beating fast! Yikes!

Temps here are about in the 60/70 still in the evening, good evening walk weather. Not sure what the weather is like in Indonesia.. maybe you could share that with us "best day ever". The weight loss must have made you feel a little better. Hope you recover soon! I have'nt felt well in a long time I have a cold that just won't go away!!! Just feel exhausted all the time! Weighed in this morning and in-spite of feeling rotten, I have lost 1 kg. Just can't figure out what the heck is wrong. My thumb doesn't hurt so much anymore ad I'm still keeping it covered with a bandaid. Not looking forward to the dead skin falling off.

Hello Coming back to the group Tomorrow. Sorry for the leave of absence, you were all doing so well... guess I hit a valley. Need to "reduce the caboose" so the Scale/weigh in days are not so tramatic. I have been sick most of August, pretty bad cold and exhausted. Much better now... sounds like your's is holding on Marlys. Drink lots fluids and go to bed early every night.... yes boring .. but your body is telling you something. Time to shut down for a while, relax and replenish. We all need to be healthy for the upcoming Flu season ahead and I do not think it will be an easy one either with the reports already coming from the schools that have started already. Summer is winding down... and will hate to see it turn into the fall and winter seasons. Was outside in the misty rain today for a few hours working in the gardens. Nice Cucumbers and grape tomatoes to eat... Cool weather to walk, walk, walk... so lets regroup and refocus on our goals and life style changes. I realize not to put off today what you can begin and do today... .. but I am not saying wait till Monday or September 1,. So let's pre cook some meals and get our daily menus ready and have a Calorie Burning SEPTEMBER!!!! Best Day Ever, not sure how the ipod thing really works ( my Ipod is only for music) but if you make some favorite meals and use the most often eaten foods the tracking does not take that long. Glad to see that you are back and feeling better. When I'm sick I just like laying around and wanting princess service when I'm layhing around. It's such a bummer. Also the upcoming flu season, it's better be to healthy so that you body can fight the sickness instead. Wonder what the upcoming winter will bring.
I have na ipdo touch and it's way faster to post using that then the main web site. I also use my ipod when travelling as my mini mini computer to pick up mail. It's really convinent.

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining in again. I stop using the website because the new iPod application was changed so only v3 could use it which is not available where I live. Well the other day I updated my iPod and surprise surprise the old application suddenly downloaded onto my iPod again. So I thought I would try again. I love loggin food with the iPod, the website would take over 1 hour which left no time for connecting with other people which is what I really was looking for.

Saturday went to Steve & Mary's fish fry chips,fried fish, Malibu rum & french fries & onion rings OH MY!!!!! Then Our Anniversary Sunday went to Steve & Mary's for breakfast sausage,bacon ,pancakes, fruit, juice.Oh Boy!!!! Then Dinner at Timber Loudge Parmesan crusted Walley ,baked potato,Bread, veggies!!! Then today won't even go there!!!! Really bad 3 days hope this is almost over!!! James on vacation and we are out & about and eating fast food.
