So the mostly raw diet is going well. I ate some not raw foods this weekend and they almost made me sick with how sweet they were (I find this funny because I’ve been eating more fruit in the last week than I have all year and I usually find fruit unbearably sweet) especially the rice and wonton soup which I always saw as salty. My friends and I went to get sushi (so everything was raw except for the rice basically) and then the next day I got PF Chang’s Wonton soup which didn’t make me as sick as I thought it would.

The first two days of raw eating were pretty awful. I had trouble finding foods in the dining hall at school but found that If I ate a gigantic salad with tons of mushrooms and cucumbers on it I wouldn’t be hungry until right before dinner. The other weird thing is that I began to crave bananas, but once I’d start eating them, I really didn’t want them anymore. I found some raw almond butter at the store that is fantastic and have been enjoying that with my bananas and apples. After the first two or three days I felt like a whole new person. I was really energized and my skin cleared up a bit and I wasn’t as thirsty as I usually am (I sing a lot so I have to drink tons of water).

My weight dropped drastically on the first three days and it has sort of been creeping down slowly since then. My muscles also aren’t as sore as they usually are after strenuous activity either. I’m going to continue on this mostly raw diet for a while, I think. (I’m doing mostly-raw because it would be impossible for me to eat well in my dining hall if I only ate iceburg lettuce, mushrooms, bananas, tomatoes, and really un-ripe cantaloupe). It is really hard to eat around my friends at lunch now, not because I want to eat what they are eating, but because what they are eating repulses me. One of my friends was eating bacon taco pizza (don’t ask how bad it smelled) and I couldn’t even watch her eat it. In a way this is a good thing because I won’t be tempted to eat anything nasty, but it makes me sad that I have to avoid the weird smelling foods. So after that epistle, I’m feeling pretty good about this whole “raw foods” thing and plan to stick with it J

That is so exciting.  I love the effects you describe o f not being sore after strenuous activity and feeling better and better skin.  Is the need for less water because there is water in raw veggies and fruits?  That's awesome.  Besides dancing, what do you do for exercise?

Oh man!  That sounds super refreshing.  I know how the opposite can affect me ... after eating terrible food (such as mexican bacon pizza), I feel super tired and ucky for days!

I'm happy that you're finding something that really works for you.  It's helping you to moderate your hydration, it seems too, which is a HUGE help.  Way to go!  I'm motivated to take more fruits and veg to work with me.
