Want to eat healthier? Want to eat "cleaner"? This is a group for those who are vegetarians, vegans, or even those who eat meat but want to stretch out a bit and try some other things. All are welcome. Got questions? Ask. Got answers? Tell.
Hi All...
I'm starting out on a new path and am looking for help and support. I have eaten as a
vegetarian years ago and would like to start again as my health would benefit as would my
beliefs in non-cruelty.
I live in Texas near Houston and have many outlets for vegetarian foods from Asian to
Indian markets and restaurants. I just need some direction in choosing foods to start out
with.
Thanks,
Su
When I started, my friend recommended to just make the same foods I always made, but with meat alternatives. I made Shepherd's Pie with TVP, chili, and other delicious homey meals.
Tofu is great in stir-fries. There's so much great stuff out there.
The best vegetarian cookbook I have is "Simply Delicious: Vegetarian" by Carla Bardi. It's got some incredible, unique recipes that are easy to follow and the pictures are amazing.
